Unrecognised Transnistria returns 3 million cubic metres of borrowed gas to Moldova

The Russian-backed region of Transnistria has returned three million cubic metres of gas to Moldova, which had been borrowed to keep the region's gas system operational.
Source: Moldovan news outlet Newsmaker, citing Moldovagaz, the largest energy company in Moldova, as reported by European Pravda
Details: Moldovagaz reported that Tiraspoltransgaz, the largest gas supplier in Transnistria, had returned the three million cubic metres of natural gas borrowed under the terms of the contract. The gas was provided to maintain pressure in the region's gas transmission system and ensure its functionality.
Under the terms, Transnistria had until 1 March to either return the gas or pay for it.
Background:
Effective 1 March, energy tariffs in unrecognised Transnistria will be raised following the region's cessation of receiving free Russian gas on 1 January.
Earlier, Chișinău and Tiraspol agreed on a scheme for gas supply to Transnistria through a Hungarian company with Russian loans.
This supply arrangement was approved after Tiraspol rejected the €60 million offered by the European Union to resolve the energy crisis. The assistance was tied to several economic and political conditions.

Rubio marks Russia Day, reaffirms calls for peace with Ukraine

(Reuters) -The United States supports Russians' aspirations for a brighter future, Secretary of State Marco Rubio said on the occasion of Russia Day, reaffirming a desire for constructive engagement in efforts to bring about peace in the war with Ukraine. The Russia Day holiday marks the country's 1990 declaration of sovereignty, more than a year before the collapse of the Soviet Union. "The United States remains committed to supporting the Russian people as they continue to build on their aspirations for a brighter future," Rubio said in a statement on the State Department website. "We also take this opportunity to reaffirm the United States' desire for constructive engagement with the Russian Federation to bring about a durable peace between Russia and Ukraine," he added. "It is our hope that peace will foster more mutually beneficial relations between our countries." On Wednesday, Russian news agencies said Moscow's new ambassador to the United States, Alexander Darchiev, pledged to work to fully restore ties with Washington as he formally presented his credentials to President Donald Trump. Ties between Moscow and Washington have improved since Trump took office, as the two discuss a possible resolution to the Ukraine conflict.

Partisan group destroys Russian military truck in occupied Ukraine, allegedly killing soldiers, Atesh claims

A Russian Ural military truck was destroyed, allegedly killing "several occupiers" near occupied Melitopol overnight on June 12, the pro-Ukrainian Atesh partisan group claimed. "(O)ur fighters set fire to an army Ural truck, and several occupiers on duty now remain in the fields of Zaporizhzhia forever," the Atesh group said in a post to Telegram. On June 10, the Atesh partisan group claimed they destroyed a vehicle used by drone operators in the Russian 64th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade in occupied Melitopol. The group says the June 12 attack will mark the start of Russia's annual national holiday. "A gift for Russia Day: Atesh agents carried out sabotage in the Melitopol region... Atesh agents conveyed 'congratulations' to the occupiers: one of our fighters set fire to an army Ural truck," the group said. The Kyiv Independent could not verify the group's claims. The Atesh partisan group regularly conducts sabotage attacks in Russia and Ukraine's Russian-occupied territories.
