Ex-Scottish Premiership star guilty to cannabis importation offence
The former Livingston, Aberdeen, and Arsenal academy product changed his plea to guilty at a hearing on May 7, and this can now be reported after reporting restrictions were lifted on Wednesday.

Emmanuel-Thomas pleaded guilty at Chelmsford Crown Court in Essex to fraudulent evasion of the prohibition on the importation of cannabis between July 1, 2024, and September 2, 2024.
He had previously denied the charges when asked to enter a plea in October last year.
The footballer, who has also played for Ipswich Town, Bristol City, Queens Park Rangers and Thai side PTT Rayong, was remanded in custody ahead of his sentencing on a date to be fixed.
Emmanuel-Thomas, of Cardwell Road in Gourock, Inverclyde, Scotland, was arrested in the town by National Crime Agency (NCA) officers in September 2024.
His arrest came after the NCA seized an estimated £600,000 of the class B drug as it was being smuggled through Stansted on September 2.

Co-defendants Rosie Rowland and Yasmin Piotrowska, who both denied the charge, face no further action after prosecutors offered no evidence in their case.
Prosecutor David Josse KC said that 'at all material times they maintained both before the events that led to the importation and after the events, they said they thought they were importing gold, not cannabis'.
Judge Christopher Morgan directed that not guilty verdicts be recorded in the case of Rowland and Piotrowska, and they walked free from the dock.
Rowland, 29, of Southend Road, Chelmsford, Essex, and 33-year-old Piotrowska, of Purves Road, Kensal Rise, north-west London, wept after leaving the dock.
Emmanuel-Thomas appeared at Wednesday's hearing by video-link from Chelmsford Prison.
He was asked if he would like to appear at his sentencing in person or by video-link, and he asked that it be in person, with the date for this hearing to be set administratively.

The corporation had already launched an inquiry into its flagship Saturday night family show amid claims two of its stars had used cocaine. It is understood that detectives from the Met Police are examining other allegations relating to the telly ballroom hit, which has been rocked by a string of controversies. Our latest shock revelation comes as the BBC prepares to launch Strictly's 23rd series next month - after officially announcing the line-up of celebrities including reality TV star Dani Dyer. A source told The Sun on Sunday: 'It's a significant new development in the BBC's recent string of crises that they have now got the police involved in investigating allegations surrounding Strictly. "This is a very dramatic turn of events. Last night Scotland Yard said: 'On Monday 4 August, the Metropolitan Police received a third-party allegation. "The police investigation is in its early stages. George save sends Hearts crashing out of the cup
Jamal George guessed correctly and used all of his 6ft 3in frame to dive low to his left. His athleticism saved Claudio Braga's penalty kick. The 27-year-old goalkeeper, on loan from English side, Wycombe Wanderers, minutes later the Birkenhead-born stopper was receiving the congratulations of his St Mirren team-mates as his split-second decision sent Heart of Midlothian spinning out of the Premier Sports Cup. The 25-year-old Portuguese crowd-pleaser picked the right side of the goal for Hearts' third spot kick of the shootout after skipper Lawrence Shankland and substitute, Stephen Kingsley, had netted. Alan Forrest and Beni Baningime also scored but their penalties were in vain after Braga's failure. He was brave to step up and take one, but the showman, who arrived from Aalesunds FK in Norway failed to deceive George who previously made 67 appearances for Livingston. The Jambos sailed through the group stages and were heavily fancied to go a distance in the first major competition of the Scottish football season, but they became the first big name to crash out as Richard King, Marcus Fraser, Jonah Ayunga, Evan Mooney and Malik Dijksteel all scored from the spot, a 100 per cent record.
