Rohit Shetty Talks About Deepika Padukone:
Talking to casting director Mukesh Chhabra on Mashable India, Rohit recalled that Deepika was coming off a string of flops at the time, and needed a few days to get into the groove. He said, 'It took a long time… In comedy especially, it takes a while to crack even established actors. We started shooting with Deepika, we shot for four days, and on the fourth day, she started getting a hang of the accent. Actors are usually conscious about how they are coming across, it's only when they shed these concerns that they start performing."
He continued, 'It took four days, and on the fourth day we thought that we had it. Even Shah sir realised that we were on the right track, and we reshot the previous four days. Then she started enjoying it, and that's when it went to a different level."
About the film:
Chennai Express story revolves around Shah Rukh Khan who travels from Mumbai to Rameshwaram, and while on it, falls in love with Deepika Padukone who is daughter of a local Don. Shah Rukh also underwent a shoulder surgery due to an injury he had on the sets of 'Chennai Express' while shooting a fist-fight scene with Deepika Padukone.
Chennai Express released in 2013. The actress reunited with Shah Rukh Khan for the film but was her first collaboration with Rohit Shetty.
Apart from this, Rohit Shetty is currently enjoying the success of his recently released film Singham Again. The film stars Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, Arjun Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, Kareena Kapoor and Tiger Shroff.

Sanju Samson Breaks Silence On Leaving Rajasthan Royals: 'It Really Means...'
Last Updated: Amid the rumours of parting ways with Rajasthan Royals, Sanju Samson broke his silence on his bonding with the franchise. People have been keen to know about Sanju Samson's future with Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League (IPL) ever since the news about his split with the franchise surfaced. If a few media reports are to be believed, the wicketkeeper-batter from Kerala has expressed his desire to part ways with Rajasthan Royals, whereas Chennai Super Kings are willing to have him via an all-cash deal. Amid all the rumours and speculations, Samson broke his silence on his bonding with the Royals. In a conversation with Ravichandran Ashwin in the latter's YouTube podcast, 'Kutti Stories', the Kerala cricketer explained how his association with RR changed his life. 'RR has meant the world to me. A small child coming from a village in Kerala, wanting to show his talent. And then Rahul sir and Manoj Badale sir gave me a stage to get up and show the world what I am made of. That time, they trusted me throughout. The journey with RR has been really great, and I'm very grateful to have been in a franchise like that. It really means a lot to me," Sanju told Ashwin. view comments First Published: Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. Please keep discussions respectful and constructive. Amaal Mallik BREAKS Silence On Rift With Bhushan Kumar: 'People Poisoned His Mind...'
Last Updated: Amaal Mallik opens up about his creative rift with T-Series head Bhushan Kumar. Music composer Amaal Mallik has candidly addressed his strained professional equation with T-Series head Bhushan Kumar, revealing that certain individuals may have influenced the music mogul's perception of him. Speaking in an interview with Shardul Pandit, Amaal recounted how turning down an offer to compose remixes for a T-Series project led to a fallout that 'shocked" Bhushan. Despite the rift, Amaal emphasised that there is no personal animosity towards the label or Bhushan Kumar, whom he described as an 'industry father." 'It's like a very stepfather–stepson relationship. Salman Khan launched me, but Bhushan Kumar held my hand and took me to the biggest movies and production houses purely on belief in my talent. He's completely responsible for Amaal Mallik becoming Amaal Mallik," he said. Acknowledging Bhushan's influence, he added, 'He's the biggest man in music, the biggest label in the country. He can literally decide who becomes a star." The Creative Disagreement Asked what made him stand his ground, Amaal said it came down to his vision for music. 'My understanding about how music should be made. I tell him to his face that I won't do certain things. He may have an ego about it — if I was that big, maybe even I would've had. I don't blame him," Amaal admitted. He recalled that Bhushan was initially taken aback by his refusals. 'He was shocked that I was turning down his movies. But I know no one has delivered 40 hits immediately after starting out; I have. If there is one person who has given more hits with T-Series, it's Himesh Reshammiya. But if you tell me to remake Aashiq Banaya or Masakalli, I won't. I don't want to. Why should I? I'm working so hard to build my family's legacy, and I don't want listeners' brickbats." Choosing Integrity Over Comfort Amaal admitted that his decision to reject remix projects came with its own risks. 'When I left Bhushan's hand, he left mine. He went ahead with the remixes regardless. My parents were scared, my friends were worried, and even I was in two minds about it. But I know he has a soft corner for me. When a man is very big, there will be people around him who will poison him," he said. He stressed that despite their disagreements, he has never been disrespectful. 'I've never said, 'Jaa, nahi kar raha yeh picture' in a rude way. I've always been respectful." Amaal's comments paint a picture of a creative relationship built on mutual respect but tested by artistic differences, industry politics, and the pressures of commercial music-making. While the professional rift may have created distance, his words suggest a lingering warmth and admiration for the man who once championed his career. From charity drives to free ticket distributions, Rajini's admirers are ensuring the day becomes a tribute to the superstar's decades-long legacy. Coolie Gears Up for a Box Office Tsunami The buzz is already translating into staggering advance bookings. According to Sacnilk, Coolie has so far raked in ₹5.55 crore in advance ticket sales (excluding block seats), and with block seats factored in, the number soars to ₹10.27 crore domestically. Overseas, the film's opening day advance sales have already crossed ₹37 crore, setting the stage for a ₹100 crore-plus worldwide opening. Industry analysts predict that Coolie could deliver one of the biggest first-day hauls in Indian cinema history. Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and featuring Rajinikanth in a larger-than-life avatar, Coolie is expected to be a mass entertainer packed with action, drama, and fan-service moments that will have theatres roaring. If the corporate holiday, charity drives, and sky-high bookings are anything to go by, August 14 is set to be a historic day in the Rajini fandom calendar — a true festival of cinema.
