During a Grievance Day held at the CRDA office in Tullur, Additional Commissioner G. Suryasai Praveen Chand stated that assigned land and returnable plot flooding issues will be addressed as per government directions.
He added that CRDA's Planning Department will handle complaints related to street flooding.
Out of 23 complaints received, 18 were land-related, with several resolved on the spot. Farmers were urged to attend Grievance Day sessions held every Friday from 10 AM to 1 PM.

Five years since formation of Tadigadapa municipality, Kanuru lacks basic amenities
Vijayawada: Basic amenities like CC roads, side drain canals, and bus stops are still a work in progress in the Kanuru locality, even five years after the formation of the Tadigadapa municipality. In December 2020, four major panchayats including Kanuru, Poranki, Tadigadapa, and Yenamalakuduru were merged to form the Tadigadapa grade-1 municipality. The Tadigadapa municipality has an annual budget outlay of approximately Rs 60 crore. The municipality does not receive any special grants from the Centre and the state govt as it lacks an elected council and is ruled by a special officer with the municipal commissioner as its head. The municipality has a population of 2.15 lakh and is witnessing rapid growth with major commercial, educational, and residential units coming up in the region. "Five years have gone by, CC roads, drain canals, and underground drainage system (UDS) are still a distant dream for many residents residing in the Kanuru area. Previously, officials did not even listen to our problems. The municipal authorities stated that Kanuru main road falls under the jurisdiction of the roads and buildings (R&B) department and the municipality is not the competent authority to take up road works. "However, the municipality has filled the potholes with dust, thus providing temporary relief," Tadigadapa municipal commissioner Sk Nazeer said. Nazeer told TOI that the municipality identified all the works required to be taken up and would execute them on a priority basis as the municipality does not have adequate funds to take up development works. "Recently, the AP Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) promised to allocate Rs 9 crore funds in a phased manner to the municipality. To utilise the CRDA funds in an effective manner, the municipality identified 26 prominent works for which tenders will be called soon," he added. He said the CRDA collects development charges while issuing permissions from layout and apartment developers and agreed to extend Rs 9 crore for executing development works in the municipality. Meanwhile, another citizen, 50-year-old Rambabu, pointing to the drain on the Shamrock School and PVP Engineering college road, said: "The lack of a protection wall along the drain poses a serious threat to motorists as there is a high possibility of vehicles veering off the road and falling into the drain, as the narrow road cannot accommodate two-way traffic when heavy vehicles enter the road. Rambabu, who daily drops his daughter to the school on his two-wheeler, fears some untoward incident might happen and urged the authorities to close the drain at the earliest. He also demanded the authorities to install speed breakers near the Petrol Bunk towards Enikepadu stretch on the 100-feet road, as at least one minor mishap is reported daily.

World Bank, ADB delegation visits Amaravati
Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) hosted a high-level delegation from the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) for a day-long engagement focused on environmental and social safeguards and made a field visit to capital Amaravati on Wednesday. As part of the city-to-city partnership initiative, Toru Hashimoto, International Partnership Specialist from Yokohama, Japan, shared his insights and experiences on Yokohama's urban development strategies and sustainability practices, offering valuable insights for the development of the capital Amaravati. Hashimoto presented a detailed overview of Yokohama's urban planning models. The session was attended by K Kanna Babu, Commissioner, APCRDA along with Additional Commissioners G Surya Sai Praveenchand and Mallarapu Naveen, and other officials. The discussions during the session were productive and opened new avenues for adopting global best practices in Amaravati's capital development journey. The World Bank and ADB Environmental and Social (E&S) Safeguards team made a visit to various key locations in the capital region. The visiting team comprised Venkata Rao Bayana, Senior Social Development Specialist, World Bank; Saswati Belliappa, Senior Safeguards Specialist (Social), ADB; Ranjan Verma, Social Safeguards Consultant, World Bank; Harshvardhan Singh, Social Safeguards Consultant, ADB; Joseph Akpokidje, Senior Environmental Specialist, World Bank; and Damanjit Singh, Environmental Safeguards Consultant, World Bank. The field visit began with an inspection of the RVR Project Site along the E6 Trunk Road, where the team reviewed labour camps and Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) aspects. The delegation then visited the Thullur Skill Development Centre (Job Mela) to understand the livelihood initiatives being implemented for the benefit of local communities. In the later part of the day, the team visited the Ananthavaram Nursery to examine the best practices followed in tree translocation and concluded the visit with a review of water quality monitoring systems at the River Water Quality Monitoring Station. The visit reinforced APCRDA's ongoing commitment to sustainable and inclusive development while adopting international best practices in environmental and social management. The collaboration with global institutions continues to support Amaravati's vision of becoming a world-class capital city rooted in innovation and environmental stewardship.
