Holyoke Police arrest man on multiple child rape charges
HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) – A month-long investigation by Holyoke Police detectives has led to the arrest of 45-year-old Luis Rodriguez-Martinez in connection with multiple alleged sexual assaults of a child.
Rodriguez-Martinez was taken into custody on Friday, March 14, at approximately 3:45 p.m. at an apartment on Spring Street.
His arrest follows an extensive investigation led by Detective Melissa Rex, who obtained a Holyoke District Court arrest warrant for him earlier that day. Holyoke Detectives located Rodriguez-Martinez at 10 Spring Street and placed him under arrest without incident.
Rodriguez-Martinez was arraigned in Holyoke District Court, where his bail was set at $25,000. Due to the sensitive nature of the case, authorities have not released further details about the ongoing investigation.
Rodriguez-Martinez faces multiple serious charges, including:
Dissemination of Obscene Matter to a Minor (2 counts)
Intimidation of a Witness (2 counts)
Threat to Commit a Crime (2 counts)
Aggravated Rape of a Child (4 counts)
Rape of a Child with Force (2 counts)
Indecent Assault & Battery on a Child Under 14
Engaging in Sexual Conduct with a Child Under 18 for a Fee

Owner of Billy's C's raw honey in Southwick died in Ohio crash
SOUTHWICK, Mass. (WWLP) – A beekeeper from Southwick was struck and killed by a vehicle while operating farm equipment in Ohio on Wednesday. In a police report 22News obtained from the Oregon Police Department in Ohio, at around 1:26 a.m. on Wednesday, officers were called to Brown Road for a report of a vehicle crash. The report says that a Chevy Silverado was traveling eastbound when it struck a fork-style farm vehicle traveling in the same direction from behind. Bill graduated from the Hampden County Beekeepers Association Bee School and started his first beehive. In 2007, he started selling honey from a produce farm he worked at in Westfield before forming Pioneer Valley Apiary in what became New England Apiaries. The posted speed on Brown Road is 50 MPH. The report did not indicate any citations were given to the 20-year-old driver of the Silverado at this time. Second suspect arrested in fake drug deal turned shooting at Love's
WICHITA FALLS (KFDX/KJTL) — A second suspect has been arrested in a fake drug deal that turned into a shooting at Love's Truck Stop about 10:45 p.m. on Friday, May 30. Rahab Ontiveros has been charged in connection with the shooting of Pedro Martinez. According to the arrest affidavit, before the shooting, Jose 'Pelon' Perez had asked Ontiveros to sell Martinez some truck equipment. However, Martinez didn't pay Perez the agreed-upon amount. New details in the Love's Travel Stop shooting suspect's arrest after car chase Later, Martinez reached out to Ontiveros, looking to buy methamphetamine. Ontiveros went to a store and bought bath salts, which she and Perez planned to say was meth. They agreed to meet at Love's Truck Stop. Martinez and his girlfriend arrived at the Love's Truck Stop, where Martinez's friend, Marcelino Romero, joined them later. Perez and Ontiveros arrived in separate vehicles. Ontiveros also asked a friend of hers, Jose Salas, to be there, and in exchange, she would buy him a beer. Once everyone was there, Martinez's girlfriend went inside Love's. Ontiveros approached Martinez to make the fake drug deal. Martinez had Romero inspect the 'drugs', who quickly found out they were fake. At this point, Perez jumped out of his vehicle with his gun drawn and began firing. Multiple witnesses on the scene said they heard four to eight gunshots from the southside parking lot at Love's Truck Stop. Ontiveros got in her car and left the scene. Romero also left the scene.
