UP Police constable held for motorcycle theft in Delhi to pay off his gambling debt
The Delhi Police last week arrested an Uttar Pradesh Police constable for allegedly stealing motorcycles in the national capital to pay off his gambling debts. The accused has been identified as Mohseen, 27, who was stationed at the 44 BN PAC on the Hapur Road in Meerut. The Delhi Police nabbed him from the Preet Vihar area of East Delhi on August 6 while conducting a patrol in Rajdhani Enclave. 'Based on a tip-off, the police detained a person named Mohseen and found two master keys, which are used to unlock vehicles, in his possession. He is from the Baraut area of Baghpat and could not tell any justified reason for his presence in the Preet Vihar area,' said Abhishek Dhania, Deputy Commissioner of Police, East. Upon further investigation, the police found that Mohseen had been employed as a constable in the UP Police since 2019. 'During sustained interrogation, he accepted his guilt and said he came to the Preet Vihar area for motorcycle theft and stole a Hero Splendour motorcycle from Preet Vihar on May 30,' DCP Dhania said. The police said Mohseen took a leave from August 5 to come to Delhi. CCTV footage of his May 30 theft showed that he used master keys in his possession to target the parked vehicle, said the police. The police tracked down one Vishal, 22, who purchased the Splendor bike that Mohseen stole in May. Vishal told the police that he bought the bike after seeing an advertisement on Mohseen's Facebook page. 'The accused targeted parked motorcycles in Delhi using master keys. After stealing the vehicle, he sold it in UP through personal contacts and social media platforms like Facebook. He used the money for gambling or paying off his debt. The engine and chassis numbers were tampered with to evade detection,' DCP Dhania said.

‘Suresh Gopi missing, probe needed'; KSU leader lodges complaint
THRISSUR: KSU district president Gokul Guruvayur has lodged a 'man-missing' complaint with the Thrissur City police, seeking a probe into the 'disappearance' of Union Minister and Thrissur MP Suresh Gopi. The police have not registered a case in that regard. In the complaint, the KSU leader alleged that Suresh Gopi went missing after the arrest of two Malayali nuns in Chhattisgarh. He urged the police to 'probe the whereabouts of the MP and to find those behind his disappearance'. According to his social media handles, Suresh Gopi is currently in Manipur on official duty as the Union minister of state for tourism and petroleum and natural gas. Meanwhile, BJP state president Rajeev Chandrasekhar brushed aside complaints that Suresh Gopi has been missing from his constituency. 'Everyone knows that when an MP becomes a Union minister, he will have additional responsibilities,' Chandrasekhar said. Further, the BJP leader said he would soon meet the Malankara Orthodox Church's Thrissur Diocese Metropolitan Mar Yuhanon Meletius. The bishop had indirectly targeted Suresh Gopi in a recent Facebook post, expressing concern that 'the one we chose and sent to Delhi is missing'.

Jessica Radcliffe orca attack video: Killer whale clip fake, no trainer by that name exists
A viral video has been doing the rounds on social media claiming that Jessica Radcliffe, a marine trainer, was attacked and killed by an orca. Orcas have killed trainers in the past -- the most recent being Dawn Brancheau's death in 2010. Image for representation.(Unsplash) The clip, which was widely circulated on TikTok, claimed that the '23-year-old' was attacked during a performance. The video also claimed Radcliffe died ten minutes after the staff rescued her. Another video claimed that the attack occurred after her menstrual blood mixed with the water. These videos, mostly being circulated on Facebook and TikTok, however, do not explain what exactly went down. Here's a fact-check of if the clip is even true. Fact-check: Did an orca attack Jessica Radcliffe? Despite the many videos doing the rounds, there are no media reports on one Jessica Radcliffe being attacked by an orca. Vocal Media also stated there is a complete lack of credible evidence, like obituaries, marine park statements, occupational safety and hazard (OSHA) reports. Further, the voices in the video appear AI generated, reported Kenya's The Star. Also Read | Lion makes hilarious escape as lioness arrives with cubs for babysitting. Video Further, could not find any marine trainer by the name of Jessica Radcliffe either. She seems to be a fabricated person. Past cases of orca attacks While this orca attack report is fake, there have been past instances where trainers have been killed by orcas – most notably the Dawn Brancheau case. In 2010, the senior trainer was killed by Tilikum, the orca, when performing a SeaWorld show in Orlando. Dawn's death became the subject of the 2013 documentary Blackfish, which looked at the ethics of keeping larger mammals in captivity. A year before his accident, Alexis Martinez, a Spanish trainer, was killed when orca Keto rammed into him during a rehearsal. Back in 1991, a Canadian trainer was also killed after being dragged underwater by three orcas. Thus, while the viral clips rely on real world incidents to pass off the 'Jessica Radcliffe' death as true, there is no proof such an attack took place or that Jessica Radcliffe – marine trainer – exists! Orcas, known as killer whales, are highly intelligent, social predators found all over the world.
