Cause of death of woman with 26 iPhones glued to her revealed
The 20-year-old woman became ill while travelling on a bus in Brazil. A cause of death for a woman who passed away with 26 iPhones glued to her body has been revealed. The 20-year-old woman fell unwell while travelling on a bus in Guarapuava, in Brazil's central region of Paraná on Tuesday evening. Reports indicate that she was journeying alone from Foz do Iguaçu to São Paulo. The bus pulled over at a restaurant when the woman began to suffer respiratory problems, reports the Mirror. Emergency services were called to the scene as she struggled with a shortness of breath. Initially, it was unclear, but her symptoms were linked to post-seizure and respiratory distress. She deteriorated and later stopped breathing. Paramedics tried to resuscitate the woman for approximately 45 minutes but she was declared dead at the scene. During the medical emergency, medics noticed multiple packages including the phones were attached to her body. Police also found several bottles of alcohol in her luggage. Following suspicions of smuggling, police sniffer dogs were also brought to the scene. However, no drugs were found on the victim. According to Brazilian media outlet Globo, officers had previously stated: "The Paraná Civil Police are investigating the case and awaiting the conclusion of forensic reports to clarify the cause of death. "According to preliminary information, the woman, who was alone, was traveling from Foz do Iguaçu to São Paulo. The 26 cell phones that were glued to her body were seized and sent to the Federal Revenue Service." The case remains ongoing.

Scot accused of murdering wife joked he would ‘kill her and move to Thailand'
His lawyer said it was nothing but a "quip" 'KILLING' QUIP Scot accused of murdering wife joked he would 'kill her and move to Thailand' Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) A SCOT accused of murdering his wife while kayaking joked to a friend that he would 'kill her and move to Thailand' if she left him and took half of his pension, a court has heard. Graeme Davidson, 56, was charged over the 2020 death of Jacqueline Davidson in May after arriving back in Australia from Thailand. Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up 1 Ex-Army captain Graeme Davidson is accused of murdering his wife Jacqueline in November 2020 The ex-Army major had moved there several months after his 54-year-old wife drowned, and later married a Thai resident. Mrs Davidson's death at Lake Samsonvale, north of Brisbane, was initially considered to be an accidental drowning but was later deemed by detectives to be suspicious. Davidson, originally of Glasgow, was also charged with fraud and attempted fraud, in relation to insurance claims he made totalling more than £500,000. He is making a bid for his release on bail in Brisbane's Supreme Court. Defence lawyer Craig Eberhardt told the court the Crown's case against his client was "fundamentally weak". He also insisted the case against Davidson may be "non-existent," at worst and "arguable" at best. The court heard claims that the only piece of evidence the prosecution could refer to in its case was the statement of one of Mr Davidson's friends, relating to an alleged conversation in mid-July 2017. Mr Eberhardt said they were talking about another friend, whose wife had left him on the day of his retirement, took half of his pension and one of the parties moved to Thailand. The court heard the statement alleges Mr Davidson replied and said, "oh sh*t yeah, I'd kill her and move to Thailand too," but his lawyer said it was nothing but a "quip". Mr Eberhardt said when put in context, the statement is "not nearly as sinister as it sounds" and said police were told of this conversation eight years after it is said to have occurred. Mum-of-two 'raped & murdered by coercive ex-fiance' at hotel after agreeing to celebrate his 60th birthday He added: "And so, one wonders if firstly, if that is reliable, secondly, if it's even admissible." Mr Eberhardt argued there was no evidence to suggest Mrs Davidson had told her husband she intended to leave him or take half of his pension. But the court heard some witnesses told police she had raised the idea of separating with him, after she learned her husband had an affair with a local woman during an army posting in Papua New Guinea, which caused "significant matrimonial upset". However, Mr Eberhardt said Mrs Davidson later told friends that she wanted to stay to try and make the marriage work. The Supreme Court was told Davidson did move to Thailand after his wife's death, and remarried in 2022, but was in "constant communication with the coroner's office and police," and came back to Australia twice between when he left, and when he was arrested. The defence will continue its submissions next week where prosecutors are expected to oppose Davidson's application for bail.

Boy, 7, found dead in washing machine after dad reported him missing
Seven-year-old Troy Koehler was tragically discovered crammed dead inside a washing machine on July 28, 2022, at their family home in Spring, Texas An adoptive dad has been sentenced to 50 years in prison after his seven-year-old son was found dead inside a washing machine. Troy Koehler was tragically discovered crammed inside a washing machine on July 28, 2022, at their family home in Spring, Texas. Jermaine Thomas had reported Troy missing, and hours later, officers discovered the child's body in the washing machine, fully clothed. 'Now, we will never know what he could have become,' his former teacher, Sheryl Reed, said during the sentencing. 'His future, his dreams, his life–were stolen by someone who was supposed to love, protect, and nurture him.' It comes after a woman, 20, was found dead on bus with 26 iPhones glued to her body. According to the post-mortem examination, Troy had sustained fresh and historic injuries, but there was no reference to drowning. His death was classified as a homicide and, according to courtroom documents, he died from asphyxiation and blunt force trauma. He had numerous bruises and scars across his body, along with facial injuries. Troy's body was covered with fresh and old bruises. Investigators also discovered blood on the drum of the washing machine and other parts of the house, according to court documents. Thomas has been charged with capital murder and faces 50 years in prison, which is often regarded as a "virtual life sentence," ruling out the possibility of parole. Thomas' wife, Tiffany Thomas, has also been charged in the case with injury to a child by omission. She is seeking community supervision. In court on Wednesday, devastated teacher Reed remembered the seven-year-old as a "son I never had." 'Today a reader, tomorrow a leader. That was always Troy,' Reed said. 'He loved reading. If he finished early, he'd head straight to our class library. Then he'd go right back to share those stories with classmates…always lifting others up with the joy he carried.' 'He was the son I never had. I loved that boy and wanted to see him succeed,' she added. It comes as one man is accused of leaving his 73-year-old dad to die in a bathtub after allegedly setting fire to his home, according to police. Clinton Hadley, 40, has been charged with murder after he admitted to intentionally burning down his father's home and leaving his father to die. The suspect was seen driving away from the home in Texas before smoke exited the house. 73-year-old Floyd Hadley called 999 on July 21 to try and plead for help, but he was unable to get out of the bathtub. When emergency services arrived, the home was engulfed in flames. Tragically, the dad was found dead in a bathtub. A preliminary autopsy indicated he had smoke in his lungs.
