Amazon knocks £50 off 'strong and powerful' pressure washer 'great on garden tiles'

Daily Record28-07-2025
The handy cleaning tool has had its price slashed in a limited-time Amazon deal
With the summer months here, many shoppers will be wanting to spruce up their outdoor spaces and give them a clean for parties, BBQs or even just relaxing outdoors. Getting a high quality pressure washer is a great investment to keep areas tidy, but finding one that is strong, powerful and affordable can take some time.
Shoppers may be in luck, as they can grab the ETOOLAB Pressure Washer for £139.99 down from £189.99 on Amazon. This washer is said to offer a professional clean, reaching up to 160Bar pressure with 450 litres per hour of water flow, making it easy to remove moss from patios or even oil stains on driveways.
Plus, it's also able to clean concrete, pavements, cars and swimming pools. With 1800W of pressure, this washer offers up to 30% water savings in comparison to ordinary models and also meets the British water saving standards - saving shoppers even more money over the longer team.
Long gone are the days of dragging along a heavy washer, too, as this one is light and easy to move and comes with an external foam gun which produces foam quickly when needed. It comes with a seven metre high pressure hose, two rollers and an anti-tipping design, which means shoppers can have stability while cleaning.
With four spray modes and nozzles - cracks and hard surface, concrete and brick, fences and wood decks, and windows and vehicles - shoppers have the choice to adapt the hose to whichever option is needed.
If this isn't the one for everyone, there are a number of alternatives to choose from such as the Garden Force Jet Hawk Cordless Portable Pressure Washer for £35.50 from Yimbly. This has a 45-70 minute run time, is five times more powerful than a standard garden hose and can clean a range of things like cars, bikes, boots, windows and doors.
Another is the Jml Starlyf Power Washer for £49.99 from Robert Dyas which is cordless, rechargeable and powerful. This washer is said to be a fast, fun and easy way to wash cars, bikes, houses, paths, gutters and driveways.
The ETOOLAB Pressure Washer has a respectable 4.4 out of 5 star rating from over 100 reviews on Amazon. One person said: "Strong and powerful. Last week was very hot and it was the perfect time to get this electric power washer. It was very easy to set up and very light for a washer with such power.
"It is strong and works very well for garden, driveway and for washing my car. Specially with four different nozzles that can be attached to the water gun for different cleaning makes the job so easy. The long hose make it easy to reach around easily without moving the washer."
Another wrote: " Great little pressure washer, nice power behind it my patio slabs have never looked so good. I have literally been using this all weekend on various things. Has a nice long lead on it which is very handy. There's four various nozzles I'm trying to get used to best one for each job.
"This certainly made my life so much easier especially on the patio tiles it works amazing. The pressure washing is nice and light but extremely powerful. There is also a foam feature I haven't used yet on the car .The nozzles are easy to change and sit in main handle so easily available to change."
There were also some three and four star reviews from shoppers who weren't quite as pleased. One wrote: "I have tried different connections but the connection between the hose and unit still sprays water and leaks. The handle doesn't sit tight (even after tightening the screws as far as they will go) and have to use caution when moving the unit from place to place. The hose on the unit is not very flexible and can not be coiled properly."
However, another glowing review reads: "I couldn't be happier with the ETOOLAB Pressure Washer. It delivers a strong 160Bar pressure and 450L/H flow rate that makes cleaning cars, patios, fences, and even my driveway a breeze. The four different nozzles are super handy for adjusting pressure based on the task, and the foam cannon works great for applying soap quickly and evenly.
"The 15-meter hose gives me plenty of reach without constantly moving the unit around, which is a big time-saver. Setup was straightforward, and the build quality feels solid and durable. I've used it several times now, and it performs flawlessly every time. If you're looking for a powerful electric pressure washer that gets the job done with ease, this is a fantastic choice. Highly recommend."

1 Hotel Seattle, hotel review

The latest opening from the sustainability-focused 1Hotel group provides an urban oasis in the heart of downtown Seattle – expect great food and a warm welcome in this chic, eco-friendly hotel Location Located in a residential complex in the shadows of the skyscrapers of Seattle 's business district that hosts brands such as Amazon and Google, 1Hotel provides easy access to the main landmarks of the city. It's just a 15-minute walk to the Space Needle and to the iconic Pike Place Market, where you will find the world's first Starbucks, a must-see site for coffee lovers. The hotel is also just a 20-minute cab ride to Seattle's bustling cruise terminal, making it well-situated for passengers before or after a trip. The vibe The hotel feels fresh and new, having only opened in May after replacing and renovating the Denny Park Hotel. It is one of 14 sustainability-focused locations around the world for the 1Hotel group, yet there is a clear local approach. Guests are welcomed into the lobby by a living wall of vegetation in the shape of Washington state's Mount Rainier and a '1' monument using 575 driftwood pieces sourced from private beaches around the Puget Sound by local artist Rebecca Stigora. Nature is brought to life around the hotel with 1,142 plants across the site. Earthy tones on the walls and greenery that surround the soft white furnishings throughout the public spaces give the feel of a safari lodge, where it is easy to relax before venturing out to the urban jungle of Seattle life. Service Staff are keen to impress. The reception desk is staffed around the clock, which is useful if your flight is delayed. Check-in is quick, and a concierge will help take your bags to the room and staff are knowledgeable about the local area. Some logistics may still need ironing out – our late arrival meant the housekeeping service had understandably only finished their clean at 11pm, and we had to request a member of the guest services team to show us how to set up the sofa bed for our kids. Bed and bath The hotel has 153 rooms, including 45 suites, spread across 11 floors. Interiors feature teak wood floors, tapestry wall hangings, and floor-to-ceiling windows with breathtaking city views, including of the Space Needle. Soft cotton bedding, 55-inch TVs, and bathrobes make things feel homely, while sustainable touches such as chalkboards instead of notepads and bamboo-based tissue paper underscore the eco-conscious ethos. Bathrooms are stocked with Bamford products and include both walk-in rain showers and separate tubs. A wooden coin also encourages guests to participate in the '1 Less Thing' program, letting them donate unwanted clothes to local charity Mary's Place. Food and drink Meals are not included in the base rate, but packages can include dining credits. Breakfast at Drift bar is worth the extra money, especially for the Tropical Blue Colada smoothie – a vibrant mix of pineapple, coconut and blue spirulina. Dinner at La Loba offers an inventive fusion of Catalan tapas with Asian influences. Highlights include smoked candy salmon with truffle cream cheese and oversized crispy potato bravas. The menu caters to dietary needs with gluten-free and vegan options such as avocado salad and pesto-seasoned cauliflower. Facilities There is a gym where you can take part in morning yoga sessions and recharge on Peloton bikes and treadmills. The hotel occasionally hosts events such as leather crafting and flower making. There is no swimming pool, but you can relax in the Drift bar or in the many nature-inspired seating areas indoors and on the roof terrace. You can even borrow one of the hotel's electric Audi Q6 e-trons to test drive and transport you around the city during your stay. Accessibility The hotel is fully accessible, with street-level entry, automatic doors, elevators, braille signage, and service-animal-friendly policies. Rooms with adapted features are available. Pet policy Dogs are welcome for no extra fee and furry friends get their own in-room bed and bowls. Dogs must be kept on a lead in public areas and aren't allowed in the restaurant or gym. Check in/check out? Check in from 4pm; Check out by 12pm. Family-friendly? Children are welcome. There are connecting rooms and others with sofa beds. There is also a hotel package that includes a $100 breakfast credit, a milk and cookies welcome treat and a complimentary in-room movie. Amazon shoppers blown away by 'military-grade' £59 smartwatch with 'cool features'

Shoppers praised the device as being 'excellent value for money' Amazon shoppers have been raving about a "stylish and expensive" smartwatch that is also incredibly "durable." People were quick to praise the device, which is on sale for less than £100, making it ideal for people wanting an affordable option other than Apple or Samsung. The Dreamac Military Smartwatch is available for £59.99 on Amazon, considerably less than leading brands like Apple, Fitbit and Garmin often charge. Amazon says the device is made to "military-grade" standards and can "effectively cope with all kinds of harsh environments" as well as daily life, from working, playing, exploring, or travelling. The waterproof smartwatch is made from a wear-resistant material to provide effective protection from various elements, including shock, temperature, pressure, liquid, sand, dust, water and impact. Beyond "looking good", it also earns its 'smart' status thanks to a range of different features. With the built-in speakers and microphone, Amazon says it is easy to make and receive smartwatch calls. The device also gives on-the-wrist notifications from various social media apps, text messages, and emails that come from your mobile phone. It also acts as a fitness tracker, with over 120 different sport programmes to log and record your workouts. During the day, it can count steps and calories burned in real time, and at night, it can chart your sleep quality for "all-around health monitoring". Amazon also claims that the device has incredible battery life, meaning it needs less time to charge. The online seller claims that it may last "longer than a traditional smartwatch" and suggests that the power may last up to a week with general day-to-day use from one charge. Similar devices are on the market for people wanting an affordable way into the smartwatch world without spending hundreds of pounds. For example, Sports Direct is offering this Karrimor Smart Watch (£19.99, down from £49.99) and the Reflex Active Series 23 Smart Watch from Currys (£39.99), but hundreds preferred this Amazon deal. In the reviews, one shopper said: "Extremely happy with this watch, it looks great and has excellent functions. It's excellent value for money and has really good build quality. Easy to charge and very comfortable to wear." Another added: "Looks stylish and expensive. Given the cost against Apple or Samsung, this is brilliant. I bought one for my partner, and after watching him set up, I've just ordered myself one." A third wrote: "The battery life is outstanding—I've gone weeks without needing a recharge. Plus, the call feature is super handy when I'm on the go." Someone else added: "I didn't take it off when working, it got dirty, sweat on, banged around, slipped under dirty work gloves... And it came through all of that without any damage to speak of. It didn't even scratch the band, much less the screen." Some did report a few minor issue though, such as the 'always on screen' being "bothersome to wear to bed because it lights up every time it's moved - like when rolling over in your sleep". Another posted a photo and claimed: "Glass already scratched just from normal use". However, the overall impression of this smartwatch was glowing. Another five-star shopper said: "This is my first venture into the world of smart watches but this thing is really amazing for what it's capable of." And, one more added: "The battery lasts a super long time (about a week for my use) and the watch is waterproof, so no worries in the shower or in the pool. This is an excellent smartwatch, which I recommend not only for design but also for performance."

Major supermarket axing 3,600 jobs after closing 17 stores

Morrisons cut 3,600 jobs after closing 17 stores last year, it's been revealed, following a rough year. The popular supermarket's workforce has plummeted from around 104,819 employees to just 101,144 as of October last year. It comes after a year of major losses in 2023, in which the shop slashed 8,800 roles due to increasing costs. In April, the closure of more than a dozen Morrisons shops also saw the end of dozens of cafes and other services. Along with hundreds of jobs, the supermarket shut two cafés and 100 other in-store services like 12 florists, four pharmacies and dozens and meat and fish counters. It's the latest in a wave of store closures that saw 13,000 shops vanish from high streets last year. It's even claimed WHSmith as a victim. 'Morrisons Cafés are rightly famous for their great quality well-priced food, their place in the local community and their appealing mix of traditional favourites alongside exciting new dishes. More Trending 'In most locations, the Morrisons Café has a bright future, but a minority have specific local challenges and in those locations, regrettably, closure and re-allocation of the space is the only sensible option. 'Market Street is a beacon of differentiation for Morrisons and we remain committed to it.' British high streets are facing even more shop closures this year, with dozens of shops set to shut in August. Up to 17,000 shops are expected to close this year alone, according to the Centre for Retail Research.
