'Abhi picture baki hai': Rahul on 'vote chori'
Gandhi asserted that his party was engaged in protecting the Constitution and would continue to do so.
"There is not just one seat (where there is 'vote chori') but there are a number of seats. This is being done at a national level and systematically. The EC knows it and we know it too," the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha told reporters in the Parliament House complex.
"Earlier, evidence was not there but now the evidence is there. We protect the Constitution. 'One man, one vote' is the foundation of the Constitution," Gandhi said.
It is the duty of the EC to enforce 'one man, one vote' and they have not done their duty, Gandhi said.
"So we are protecting the Constitution and will continue to do so. We will not stop," he said.
Asked about Minta Devi, a 124-year-old voter allegedly listed in the Election Commission's voter list from Bihar, Gandhi said, "There are unlimited cases like that. Abhi picture baki hai."
Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra also said there were several such cases in which addresses and names of relatives etc. are all fake. Earlier in the day, several MPs of the INDIA bloc parties held a protest in the Parliament House complex on Tuesday against the Election Commission's voter roll revision in Bihar, with many of them wearing white T-shirts that had the name of the "124-year-old voter" allegedly found on the state's voters' list emblazoned on it.
Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, Congress parliamentary party chief Sonia Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, TMC's Derek O'Brien, DMK's TR Baalu, NCP(SP)'s Supriya Sule, as well as other opposition MPs from DMK and Left parties, gathered near Parliament's Makar Dwar. They held posters and raised slogans, demanding a rollback of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise.
Several MPs, including Priyanka Gandhi, were seen wearing white T-shirts with 'Minta Devi' and her photo emblazoned on it and '124 Not Out' written at the back.
Congress' Manickam Tagore alleged that the EC under Rajeev Kumar and Gyanesh Kumar has become a department of the BJP.
"Minta Devi is a first time voter and she is 124-years-old. The voters list carries her name as a first time voter. We are wanting a discussion on such issues. How EC has become a party to the BJP. The voter list is full of such fraud," he charged while participating in the protest. There has been a logjam in Parliament over the SIR in Bihar. Barring discussions on Operation Sindoor in the two Houses, Parliament has seen little business ever since the Monsoon session began on July 21 due to repeated adjournments, mostly over the SIR issue.

Gandhi's lawyer, Milind Pawar, highlighted in court that the Congress leader's safety was under threat, especially after his allegations of electoral malpractice. In his application, it was also stated that given the documented history of violent and anti-constitutional tendencies linked to the complainant's lineage, there was 'a clear, reasonable appreciation that Rahul Gandhi may face harm, wrongful implication, or other forms of targeting, so history should not repeat itself.' Gandhi also sought preventive protection from the state.

BJP leader Surendran slams LDF, UDF on voter list allegations
Thrissur: Senior BJP leader and former Kerala state president K. Surendran on Wednesday ridiculed both the CPI(M)-led LDF and Congress-led UDF over their allegations of large-scale voter list manipulation in Thrissur, where Union Minister Suresh Gopi is the MP. Speaking to reporters in Thrissur, Surendran questioned how the state's two dominant political fronts remained silent if, as alleged, a party without even a single MLA in Kerala managed to add 60,000 "illegal" votes. "If you couldn't detect such a thing, you should hang yourselves," said Surendran. Surendran asserted that Suresh Gopi would not only win again in 2029 but also in 2034, with an even larger mandate, dismissing the current controversy as an attempt to dent the minister's popularity. "These allegations will only increase public support for him," he claimed. Explaining the BJP's position, Surendran pointed out that the Election Commission now allows three revisions of the voter list annually, compared to one earlier, and that any citizen residing in a constituency for over six months is eligible to register. "Suresh Gopi and his family had rented a house in Thrissur as part of his political work and duly transferred their votes there," added Surendran. He acknowledged that a small number of votes had been shifted from other districts but insisted the figures were negligible. "MLAs and MPs from both the Congress and CPI(M) have votes registered in multiple places. Why is this a problem only when it's Suresh Gopi?" he asked. The BJP leader also criticised the opposition for raising objections based on the claims of "a single woman" rather than following proper legal channels. He cited his own 2016 Assembly election loss by 89 votes, where he later proved 80 fake votes in court without creating a media uproar. "Whether the opposition likes it or not, Suresh Gopi will be here for the long run," Surendran declared, likening the BJP to a "majestic elephant" that would remain unshaken by "small jackals making noise".

TPCC chief urges formation of party committees without delay; ‘vote chori' campaign to commence on August 14
HYDERABAD The Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) has stressed the need to complete the appointment of party committees at the earliest to strengthen the party at the grassroots. TPCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud also urged party leaders to ensure the success of the upcoming second phase of the Janahita Padayatra, now scheduled to begin on August 24 instead of August 23 as announced earlier. He chaired an online meeting attended by AICC Telangana in-charge Meenakshi Natarajan, Ministers Ponnam Prabhakar and Adluri Laxman Kumar on Wednesday. Addressing district-level leaders, Mr. Mahesh Kumar called for the immediate submission of party asset details and urged them to extend all possible assistance to people affected by the recent floods in the State. The meeting endorsed the All India Congress Committee's (AICC) call for a nationwide movement against alleged 'vote chori' by the BJP and the Election Commission of India (ECI), an issue recently highlighted by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. It also resolved to mobilize cadres and the public for mass protests, including a door-to-door signature campaign from September 15 to October 15 aimed at collecting five crore signatures.
