'Deranged Lunatic': Critics Blast Trump After 'Utterly Unfit' Holiday Rant

Yahoo27-05-2025

Critics are calling out President Donald Trump for marking Memorial Day with a wild all-caps rant in which he slammed the previous administration as 'scum,' attacked former President Joe Biden, and railed against judges who've blocked parts of his agenda.
Trump on Monday wrote:
Memorial Day is typically a somber holiday intended to honor the nation's war dead.
Trump, however, spent at least part of the day airing his grievances.
In addition to the all-caps rant on his Truth Social page, he also fired off another threat at Harvard University, gave a speech at Arlington National Cemetery in which he bragged that he has 'everything' during his second term in office, and reposted a message calling Biden a 'decrepit corpse.'
Trump's critics put him on blast:

Kennedy's New Vaccine Advisers Helped Lawyers Raise Doubts About Their Safety

Three of the new advisers appointed by Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to guide the government on immunization policy took part in lawsuits casting doubt on the safety or efficacy of vaccines, public records show. In dismissing all 17 members of an influential Centers for Disease Control and Prevention advisory panel on Monday, Mr. Kennedy cited what he said was a history of conflicts of interest that he claimed made those experts a 'rubber stamp' on approving vaccines. But adding members who assisted in legal cases that were either against vaccine makers or that suggested widespread vaccine-caused harm raises questions about a different form of potential bias. While the legal involvement of the three new panelists does not appear to violate the rules, critics of Mr. Kennedy said it created the appearance of a conflict. 'He's invoking the language of ethics and integrity to get rid of these experts and now is installing people who may have their own biases — that he apparently does not want to recognize,' said Kathleen Clark, a law professor and ethics expert at Washington University in St. Louis. One of Mr. Kennedy's appointees, Vicky Pebsworth, is a nurse who serves on the board of a nonprofit dedicated to raising awareness about vaccine injuries. She certified to a court that, in her professional opinion, a survey of families of unvaccinated children supported the hypothesis that a rise in the number of recommended childhood vaccines explained an epidemic of chronic disease. Mr. Kennedy has espoused the same theory. Another, Dr. Robert Malone, a physician and biochemist whose criticism of mRNA Covid-19 vaccines catapulted him into the spotlight during the pandemic, was a paid expert witness on behalf of company whistle-blowers who claimed that Merck, one of the nation's largest vaccine manufacturers, had covered up evidence casting doubt on the effectiveness of the mumps vaccine. Mexico president calls for US immigration forces to spare fans at LA soccer game

Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum sent a message to U.S. immigration forces in Los Angeles, asking for grace for fans at the Mexico vs. Dominican Republic Gold Cup soccer game at SoFi Stadium Saturday. "We don't believe that at any soccer match there will be any [immigration] action ... we call for none to be taken by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement," Sheinbaum said in a Friday press conference. "Mexico will always promote peace," she added. A now-deleted post to social media post by U.S. Customs and Border Protection stated a promise to be "suited and booted" at the first round of Club World Cup soccer matches this week. In response to its social media post, the CBP said it regularly provides security at big sporting events. "U.S. Customs and Border Protection is committed to working with our local and federal partners to ensure the FIFA Club World Cup 25 is safe for everyone involved, as we do with every major sporting event, including the Super Bowl. Our mission remains unchanged," it told The Associated Press on Thursday. Downtown Los Angeles remains under a curfew. Los Angeles police have made nearly 400 arrests and detentions since Saturday, the vast majority of which were for failing to disperse, according to the police department. A handful of more serious charges have included assault against police officers, possession of a Molotov cocktail and possession of a gun. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced that several convicted criminals who are in the U.S. illegally were arrested as part of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) operations in Los Angeles on Monday and Tuesday. The ICE operations in Los Angeles triggered protests and riots in parts of the city, and President Donald Trump deployed National Guard troops to protect the federal immigration officers while they continued arrests. "Murderers, pedophiles, and drug traffickers. These are the types of criminal illegal aliens that rioters are fighting to protect. How much longer will Governor Newsom and Mayor Karen Bass continue to prioritize these criminal illegal aliens over their own citizens?" Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin said in a statement on Wednesday. Follow Fox News Digital's sports coverage on X, and subscribe to the Fox News Sports Huddle newsletter.
