Andhra CM Naidu seeks Centre's backing for key energy, water, defence projects
In his talks with Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy Pralhad Joshi, Naidu urged swift approval of state DISCOM proposals and allocation of rooftop solar capacity under the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana. The state aims to install 20 lakh rooftop solar units by 2025, offering free systems to Schedule Caste and Schedule Tribe households and subsidies for backward caste families.
'Had a fruitful meeting... With the Centre's support, we will reduce energy costs, empower our people, and lead India's clean energy transition,' Naidu posted on X. Andhra Pradesh's Clean Energy Policy 2024–29 targets 72.6 GW in additional renewable capacity, including 40 GW of solar.

Group Captain Shukla, who was part of the NASA-Axiom mission that launched from Kennedy Space Centre in Florida on June 25, returned to Earth on July 15, landing off the coast of California. He arrived in the national capital in the early hours of Sunday. He was welcomed at the Delhi airport by Union Minister Jitendra Singh, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, and his family. Shukla's journey marks a significant moment for India, as he is the first Indian in 41 years to travel to space. In addition to the special discussion, the Lok Sabha is set to witness the introduction of two key bills. Union Minister Piyush Goyal will move for leave to introduce the Jan Vishwas (Amendment of Provisions) Bill, 2025. Modi govt won't give in to foreign pressure on farm imports: Kishan
SIDDIPET: Stating that the country will not bow down to any kind of pressure from foreign countries, Union Coal & Mines Minister G Kishan Reddy on Sunday said that the Union government will protect the interests of farmers at any cost. The Union minister was speaking during the inauguration of a seed manufacturing facility of Crystal Crop Protection Ltd at Gowraram village in Wargal mandal of Siddipet district. 'Some foreign countries are bringing pressure on India to allow agricultural imports. If we give in to such pressure, what will be the fate of Indian farmers?' Kishan asked while asserting that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will stand by farmers. Stressing the importance of natural farming, he said that farmers should adopt modern technology and reduce use of fertilisers.
