It's a dog's life watching United – time for Roy Keane and Co to join Crufts
Dave Jones: Welcome back to Sky Crufts Super Sunday where we have seen a dramatic finish to the competition. Roy?
Roy Keane: That Bichon Frise there? Do me a favour. People clapping and cheering because it has managed to walk around the ring without barking? That's its job.
Gary Neville: That would never have happened under Sir Alex. He'd say 'walkies' and I'd be there with the leash in my mouth. And look at the Bedlington Terrier, its body language. Honestly, I think it has bottled it. The bare minimum standard has to be to sit quietly during the interview with Clare Balding and not embarrass yourself and your breed. Are you bored? Of course you are. Are you thinking about sausages? Yes, yes you probably are. But that's what is asked of you at this level: you try not to bark or wee on the sofa but no. It was too much. But I tell you something else: the real blame lies with the owners.
DJ: What about the others? Does anyone deserve a treat?
RK: One or two, maybe. But the rest of them, just so poor. If I was that Portuguese Water Dog, I'd be looking around the kennel and thinking paw on heart, who can I actually rely on here? The Shih Tzu? The Miniature Schnauzer, maybe? But these others. Babies. They're just babies.
GN: Actual puppies, some of them.
RK: It's no excuse. It's no excuse. At United, we had the older ones educating the youngsters. Becks for instance. I'd throw him a ball and he'd run and get it. Once he grasped the concept. It might have taken him a few years to really get his head around it especially if you hid it behind your back first but he got there in the end. I'm looking around at these and saying: Lads, it's the Cavalier King Charles Spaniels. Too easy.
DJ: Micah what did you think? Did you see any good boys out there?
Micah Richards: Ha ha ha ha dogs ha ha ha Roy ha ha ha.
DJ: Thank you Micah. Graeme [Souness], what was your reaction to the controversial incident with the Chesapeake Bay Retriever?
GS: I liked it. I don't mind seeing a bit of that. Some people will say, should it have tried to bite television presenter Radzi Chinyanganya on the backside? For me, sometimes you have to let them know you're there, you know? And, yes, other dogs did get involved, in the heat of the moment, you'd have questions maybe about the Basset Fauve de Bretagne rolling around on the floor like that. But that's the continentals for you. Sly. Many of them have fleas. It's a different time now, values have changed. I get that. Does the daytime TV audience want to see a former Blue Peter host running for his life through Birmingham's National Exhibition Centre pursued by a pack of Miniature Wire Haired Dachshunds? I don't know. I know I do. I want to see dogs. At it.
DJ: Thank you Graeme.
GS: I would bite a dog if I had to.
DJ: Okay, thanks Graeme.
RK: They can get in new owners, sure. But until these dogs actually take pride in their performances it is going to be the same story. Leopards don't change their spots. Nor do Dalmatians. They're not fit to wear the collar, and these are a million miles away from being best in show. They'd be lucky to get into a kennel at Battersea.

Alejandro Garnacho sends two-word message to Marcus Rashford after Barcelona move - as star becomes first Man United 'bomb squad' member to depart
Alejandro Garnacho offered two-word reaction to celebrate Marcus Rashford sealing his move to Barcelona from Manchester United. Rashford's move to Barcelona was confirmed on Wednesday with the forward joining on an initial season-long loan. Barcelona will have the option to sign Rashford permanently for around £30million at the end of the season. Rashford had been one of five players placed in Man United 's 'bomb squad' this summer, with Ruben Amorim determining them to have no future at the club. Garnacho is among those to have been told to stay away from first team training and left out of the club's tour to the United States to seek a move elsewhere. The group also includes Jadon Sancho, Antony and Tyrell Malacia. Rashford become the first member of the 'bomb squad' to leave Man United by sealing his move to Barcelona, with Garnacho quick to respond. The forward responded to a joint Instagram post by Barcelona and Rashford, confirming the deal, with the message 'Lets gooooo'. Garnacho's message was accompanied by two emojis mirroring Rashford's goal celebration, which has previously seen him point to his head. The winger, who was told to find a new club by Amorim at the end of last season, has already attracted attention for his social media posts this summer. Fans had expressed anger last month after Garnacho shared photos from his holiday to Ibiza, one of which included a picture of him wearing the Aston Villa shirt worn by Rashford on his loan last season. Supporters had hit out at the winger for wearing another Premier League clubs shirt while a Man United player, while some viewed it as defiance to Amorim after his decision to cut ties with Rashford. Amorim had informed Garnacho that he should find a new club days after their Europa League final defeat against Tottenham in May. The Argentine winger had been unhappy to be left on the bench for more than 70 minutes of the final, while his brother Roberto had accused Amorim of 'throwing him under the bus' in Bilbao. Garnacho and his brother appeared to signal their disagreement with the team selection on social media posts before the match, while he had apologised for expressing disappointment at his substitution in an Instagram post back in February. Mail Sport reported that Man United would consider offers of around £40m for Garnacho this summer. Garnacho had been valued at around £70m when Napoli made an approach for him in January. The 21-year-old wants to stay in the Premier League and there is interest from Chelsea, Tottenham and Aston Villa.

Grinning Marcus Rashford has fans spotting his remarkable glow-up at Barcelona unveiling compared to 'rough' Aston Villa photos
Marcus Rashford was seen beaming when he was unveiled as a Barcelona player on Wednesday having completed a season-long loan move from Manchester United. Rashford had been open in his desire to join the Spanish giants this summer, with the forward last month revealing he wanted to play alongside teenage sensation Lamine Yamal at the club. His ambition was granted as Barcelona sealed Rashford's signing on an initial loan deal, which could be made permanent next summer for around £30million. The Man United academy graduates departure came after he was one of five players exiled by Ruben Amorim from his squad, along with Jadon Sancho, Antony, Alejandro Garnacho and Tyrell Malacia. Speaking at his unveiling as a Barcelona player, Rashford expressed his excitement at signing for the Spanish giants and said it will be a 'joy' to play for the club. Fans were quick to note Rashford's beaming smile as he was unveiled in front of the media, with the forward donning a suit while surrounded by his new Barcelona No 14 shirt. Some fans drew the comparison between his glowing appearance at the unveiling to unflattering photos when he joined Aston Villa on loan back in January Several drew the comparison to unflattering photos from Rashford's unveiling back in January, which had led to some fans expressing concern for the 27-year-old. One account shared photos of Rashford's unveilings side by side and drew a comparison, writing 'Marcus Rashford being presented at Aston Villa / Marcus Rashford going to sign with Barcelona.' Another wrote 'Bro look at the difference in Rashford's smile and appearance when signing for Aston Villa vs Barca.' 'Now this is the Rashford I remember. Always smiling and confident, not whoever that was at the start of the 2024/25 season pre Aston Villa,' added a third. Another fan claimed Rashford's appearance at Barcelona was an indicator the forward will succeed with the Spanish giants. 'Look at Rashford in both pictures closely, and tell me you don't see seriousness already,' the fan claimed. 'Can you see his condition at Manchester United before leaving for Aston Villa, compared to Barcelona? Hmmm. Be ready for fire.' Rashford had himself admitted at his Barcelona unveiling that he had initially wanted to join the club in January, only to join Aston Villa when a move was not forthcoming. 'It was clear I wanted to come to Barca from the beginning,' Rashford said. 'Since January I wanted to come, but I couldn't come and I went to Aston Villa, where I had a great time and I'm grateful. 'Now I could come to Barca, it was an easy decision.' Back when he signed for Aston Villa on loan in January, a handful of supporters had commented that he had looked 'rough' and 'unhealthy' during his photoshoot with Aston Villa. The comments came off the back of Man United boss Ruben Amorim publicly questioning Rashford's lifestyle and commitment. Despite the criticism, Rashford ultimately played a major role for Aston Villa during the second half of the season. Rashford scored four goals and provided six assists in 17 matches for the club, while he caught the eye during their Champions League knock-out stage clash with eventual tournament winners PSG. The forward was asked on Wednesday about the difference from six months ago, when he departed Man United on loan with his lifestyle among the key criticisms he faced. 'Six months ago is six months ago,' Rashford said. 'I'm supposed to be improving and progressing and right now I am in a good place, I'm happy and I'm healthy. 'Like I said I am eager to get going, it's one thing to say you are motivated and determined but these are things that they can change day to day depending on how you are feeling. 'Really the thing I bring it back to my life but not just the sport is the discipline and the discipline is something that stays regardless of if you wake up and don't feel like it today, the discipline is the thing that keeps you going. 'My overall message is that I am happy to be here, I'm ready to be here. 'I'm eager to get the games going and experience this club, and excited to be living in a different city and country, and in a new league. 'These are all things I am not afraid of, I ready and excited to go through the experience.' Rashford added that it would be a 'joy' to play for Barcelona, with the forward vowing to enjoy every minute. 'I am very excited, I think it's a club where people's dreams come true,' Rashford said. 'What the club stands for means a lot to me as well and it feels like I'm at home, and this is a big factor in my choice. It's a family club people are comfortable here and it's a good place for people to show their skills. 'I try to make decisive actions and fast dynamic plays and I always like good football so I've always been a fan of watching Barcelona from a young age. 'It's going to be a joy for me to play here and I'm going to enjoy every minute of it.'

Liverpool sign Hugo Ekitiké in £79m deal after fending off late Manchester United bid
Liverpool have completed the signing of Hugo Ekitiké from Eintracht Frankfurt, with the striker rejecting a late attempt by Manchester United to hijack the transfer. The France Under-21 international has joined the Premier League champions for a guaranteed £69m plus £10m in add-ons, having undergone a medical in the UK on Tuesday. Ekitiké is understood to have signed a six-year contract and will join his new teammates on their pre-season tour of Hong Kong and Japan. The striker was a longstanding target for Liverpool, despite their interest in the Newcastle centre-forward Alexander Isak, and contact was first made with the 23-year-old's representatives in January. Arne Slot then outlined his plans for Ekitiké in a call at the end of last season. Newcastle made a move for Ekitiké last week after missing out on Liam Delap and João Pedro but their £70m bid was rejected by Eintracht and the player made it clear his preference was to join Liverpool. United also received the same information when they made a last-minute attempt to derail the deal. United's director of recruitment, Christopher Vivell, is believed to have contacted Eintracht's sporting director Markus Krösche over a possible transfer but Ekitiké was already set on Anfield. Ekitiké scored 22 goals and made 12 assists in his one full season at Frankfurt, helping the club to qualify for the Champions League, and while he is primarily a No 9 Liverpool believe he can also operate as a second striker or out wide. He is potentially the third most expensive signing in Liverpool's history behind Florian Wirtz and Darwin Núñez. Anfield officials are confident he can become one of the finest forwards in the game should his recent progress with Eintracht be maintained. The former Paris Saint-Germain player is the club's seventh signing of the window, following Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong, Milos Kerkez and a trio of goalkeepers: Giorgi Mamardashvili, Armin Pecsi and Freddie Woodman.
