Google is rolling out an Android 16 Beta 3.1 update that includes no new features and instead focuses on bug fixes.
The minor beta patch features a fix for a problem that caused the Settings app to crash and brightness levels to fluctuate.
Additionally, Android 16 Beta 3.1 includes performance and stability improvements.
Nearly a week after rolling out the platform-stable Android 16 Beta 3 update, Google is fixing a few issues with a new Android 16 Beta 3.1 patch. As announced on the Android Beta Program subreddit, this update is becoming available for enrolled devices now and carries a version number of BP22.250221.013. Android 16 Beta 3.1 does not include any new features, but rather includes four critical fixes, two of which that were reported by beta testers on Google's Issue Tracker.
Among the issues fixed, the biggest one might be a problem that caused the system Settings app to crash under specific circumstances. Reported under Issue #403303683, this problem caused repeated Settings crashes when a device's language was set to something other than English.
Another problem caused the screen brightness of devices running Android 16 Beta 3 to switch between app-specified brightness levels and system brightness levels. This bug was reported via Issue #392522561, and has been fixed in Android 16 Beta 3.1.

Android 16 Beta 3.1 also includes fixes for two issues causing performance problems on devices enrolled in the Android beta. One problem resulted in excessive battery drain due to high CPU load, and another occasionally caused memory leaks in the system server, according to Google.
The update features all the changes and new capabilities introduced with the initial Android 16 Beta 3 release, which marked the first time Android 16 reached platform stability. That includes Auracast support for wireless hearing aids and accessibility features for people with low vision.
Android 16 Beta 3.1 will become available automatically for Google Pixel 6 and newer devices enrolled in the Android Beta Program. The update is being rolled out over the air, so it'll appear in Settings > System > Software Update when available. To enroll your Pixel in the Android Beta Program, visit Google's official beta website.

Google Issues Emergency Update For All 3 Billion Chrome Users

Update all browsers now. Google has suddenly released an emergency Chrome update, warning that a vulnerability discovered by its Threat Analysis Group has been used in attacks. Such is the severity of the risk, that Google also confirmed that ahead of this update, The issue 'was mitigated on 2025-05-28 by a configuration change' pushed out to all platforms. Google says it 'is aware that an exploit for CVE-2025-5419 exists in the wild,' and that full access to details on the vulnerability will 'be be kept restricted until a majority of users are updated with a fix. How to put a song on repeat on Spotify

There's something to be said about a song you enjoy so much that you could listen to it again. Spotify is home to an immense amount of music, and when you find a song that just clicks with you in a certain time and space, sometimes you can't help but just put it on repeat. If you know how to, that is. Let's discuss how to put a song on repeat on Spotify. Can you put a song on repeat on Spotify? (Android & iOS) Let's get this out of the way first: if you're using a Spotify free account, you cannot repeat music on the mobile app. You must be a Spotify Premium subscriber to use the repeat function on Spotify mobile. Spotify Premium has a full lineup of media controls available when you open your song or podcast in full screen. If you're using a free Spotify account, on the other hand, it has few options in the media control bar, and the repeat button is missing. How to put a song on repeat on Spotify (Premium only) Open the Spotify app and start playing the song you want to repeat. Open that song in full screen by tapping its playback bar at the bottom of the screen. Curtis Joe / Android Authority Locate the repeat button in the media controls. It looks like an arrow rotating clockwise. Tap it once to make the button turn green with a dot below it. If you are listening to it in a playlist or an album, this will make the entire album or playlist repeat. Curtis Joe / Android Authority If you tap the repeat button once, it will repeat the entire album or playlist. Tap it once more to repeat the song only. Tap the repeat button once more. A small '1' will appear atop the green rotating arrow; this is how you know you've put your song on repeat on Spotify. Curtis Joe / Android Authority When there is a '1' on top of the repeat button, you know the song is repeating itself. How to put a song on repeat on Spotify (desktop and web player) Oddly enough, you don't seem to have to be a Premium member to repeat songs on the Spotify desktop app. Open the Spotify desktop app or web player. Find the song you would like to repeat and start playing it. It should be visible with all media controls in the bottom playback bar. Curtis Joe / Android Authority Locate the repeat button in the media controls. It looks like an arrow rotating clockwise. Click it once, and it will turn green with a dot underneath. This will replay all the songs in the album or playlist. Curtis Joe / Android Authority Click the repeat button once more. A small '1' will appear atop the green rotating arrow; this is how you know you've put your song on repeat on Spotify. Curtis Joe / Android Authority FAQs Can you put a podcast on repeat on Spotify? As things currently stand, Spotify doesn't offer users the option to put podcasts on repeat. Why is there no repeat button on Spotify? Media controls like shuffle and repeat are only available in 'shuffle-free playlists.' If you are using a free Spotify account, you are forced to use the entire platform with ads, and always in shuffle mode. As such, there is no way to manually manage shuffle or repeat functions. You also can't add songs to your queue if you're using the free version. What's the difference between normal repeat and repeat, when it has the '1' over it? Normal repeat, meaning the repeat button is green and doesn't have a '1' over it, means the button has been pressed once. In this case, the whole album or playlist will repeat after it is done playing all the songs. If it has a '1' over it, it means that the same song will repeat over and over.

Elden Ring Nightreign producer thanks players for "bravely" embracing its "peculiar aspects" as it collects Mixed Steam reviews: "As with Demon's Souls or Sekiro, it may be confounding at first"

Elden Ring:: Nightreign is proving to be the most controversial FromSoftware game in years, with a Metacritic score calling back to the studio's decades-old obscurities and Steam reviews taking the new release to task for everything from a 60fps cap to the lack of duos support. That all hasn't stopped 2 million players from buying in, and producer Yasuhiro Kitao is very thankful to those who have. "Nightreign has some peculiar aspects to its game design and is different from our recent titles in various ways," Kitao says in response to the game's day one sales announcement. "Nonetheless, many of you have bravely jumped into this world, and for that we're immensely grateful." FromSoftware's games have always been an acquired taste – it just happens that a lot of people acquired that taste between Dark Souls and Elden Ring. "As with Demon's Souls or Sekiro," Kitao adds, hearkening back to the studio's other modern hits, "it may be confounding at first, but just like those games, Nightreign offers its own challenges and experiences." Kitao concludes that "once you overcome the initial hurdle, it'll surely provide a sense of accomplishment that's also its very own. We hope you enjoy it." The full scope of how much the community enjoys Nightreign – or doesn't – is only going to become clear as time passes, and there's certainly no consensus right now. The only thing that is clear is that Nightreign is targeting a much different, more multiplayer-focused audience than FromSoft's recent work. Nightreign's got a lot to prove, not least because FromSoftware's The Duskbloods, one of the biggest upcoming Switch 2 games on the horizon, is also a multiplayer-focused take on the Soulsborne format. Here's hoping that both Nightreign and The Duskbloods can find their mark. Wondering how to two-hand in Elden Ring Nightreign? We've got you covered at that link.
