This allows Malaysians to enjoy a long weekend from Saturday (Sept 13) to Malaysia Day on Tuesday (Sept 16).
Anwar announced that this public holiday would enable Malaysians to enjoy the long break with their family or take a much-needed vacation.
"This public holiday is to appreciate the unity and significance of Malaysia's formation.
