Devastating new scenes confirmed for Debbie in Corrie as an ambulance is called
Debbie was diagnosed with dementia after going to the doctor with symptoms she assumed to be due to the menopause. She'd been becoming increasingly forgetful, mislaying things and missing meetings. Added to this were mood swings and then, most alarmingly, blackouts.
The doctor told Debbie that the blackouts were probably due to mini-strokes and warned her that this could happen again, and said that her symptoms were due to dementia.
At first Debbie kept her diagnosis a secret. Her brother Kevin (Michael Le Vell) had his own health struggles as he was dealing with cancer and Debbie didn't want to give him more to worry about.
She also pushed away long-term partner Ronnie Bailey (Vinta Morgan), feeling she didn't want to be a burden on him.
Eventually she opened up about her health to her close friends and family. Insisting she wanted to carry on as normally as possible, she also reconciled with Ronnie and recently proposed to him at Dev (Jimmi Harkishin) and Bernie (Jane Hazlegrove)'s wedding.
Things take a turn for the worse in upcoming episodes, however, when Debbie lets herself into Kevin's house to do a spot of cleaning while she thinks Kevin and the family are away on holiday.
What she doesn't realise is that Abi (Sally Carman) has faked losing her passport so she can stay behind and spend time with her new lover – Kevin and Debbie's brother, Carl (Jonathan Howard).
As Debbie lets herself into the house she's unaware that Carl is upstairs, while Abi has popped out to buy some lager. More Trending
It's just as well Carl is there, as it turns out, because Debbie is suddenly overcome by dizziness and collapses. Carl hears the commotion and goes down to investigate, and finds his sister in a bad way.

BBC hit by complaints over EastEnders' ‘inappropriate sex scene'
Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) ONE scene in a recent episode of EastEnders ruffled some viewers' feathers and they rushed to BBC to complain. In June, EastEnders showed how the loveable Alfie Moon continued to struggle with erectile dysfunction — a common side effect for men such as him who have had treatment for prostate cancer. 5 EastEnders viewers complained about a scene in an episode from June Credit: BBC 5 They complained to the BBC about Kat trying to seduce her husband, Alfie Credit: BBC 5 But the BBC decided the scene did not violate any standards Credit: BBC The episode in question showed Alfie rebuff his wife Kat Slater's advances after she shows up wearing sexy lingerie and attempts to seduce him, unaware of his erectile dysfunction. When Alfie rejects her advances, Kat becomes upset after worrying about their sex life. And to make matters worse, she finds porn on a laptop at home and presumes it belonged to her husband. Kat did not know that, in fact, that it was their son, Tommy, who had been the one watching porn. Despite getting rave reviews for the educational story line about Alfie's prostate cancer, some people were not happy with the scene and complained to the Beeb. The BBC published its latest list of complaints and it showed a grievance for "inappropriate sexual content" during the June 10 episode. The public broadcaster reviewed the complaint and decided it was "not upheld," and the content was not inappropriate. Alfie actor, Shane Richie, opened up to The Sun about the positive impact his prostate cancer storyline had on people. Shane, 61, has played Alfie Moon on EastEnders for over two decades after he first joined the BBC One soap in 2002. One in eight men will get prostate cancer in their lifetime, according to Prostate UK, who along with Macmillan Cancer Support, worked with Shane and the EastEnders writing team on the storyline. Shane said in June: 'I was going to events, men my age were coming up to me, but mostly women, wives saying 'thank you so much for covering that storyline, because my husband, my brother... they don't want to go to the doctors.' 'One guy in particular, and I don't personally take credit for saving his life, but that storyline did. EastEnders' Shane Richie reveals new trauma for Alfie Moon amid prostate cancer storyline 'He got checked. His daughter was a big EastEnders fan, and just quite casually said, come on, we love Alfie, you should go and get checked and he did just to appease his daughter. One in eight men will get prostate cancer The risk of developing prostate cancer depends on many factors, here are some of the facts about the disease and how many men it affects. One in eight men will get prostate cancer in their lifetime It is the fourth most common cancer worldwide, and the most common in men There are 55,000 new cases every year in the UK, and 1.4million globally Around 12,000 people lose their lives to prostate cancer annually in the UK and almost 400,000 around the world Prostate cancer accounts for 28 per cent of all new cancer cases in men in the UK, and 14 per cent of all new cancer cases in men and women combined Prostate cancer survival has tripled in the last 50 years in the UK More than three-quarters (78 per cent) of patients survive for 10 or more years About 490,000 men are living with and after prostate cancer in the UK It is most common in men aged 75 to 79 Since the early 1990s, cases have increased by 53 per cent in the UK Mortality rates are up 16 per cent since the early 1970s in the UK Incidence rates are projected to rise by 15 per cent in the UK between 2023 to 2025 and 2038 to 2040 Mortality rates are expected to fall five per cent in the UK over the same years Source: Prostate Cancer UK, World Cancer Research Fund International and Cancer Research UK 'He found out he had prostate cancer but it was at the early stages, had it left in any longer it could have been fatal. So if we just save one life, that's the power of soaps.' EastEnders' Colin Salmon gives health update on wife after devastating illness
EastEnders star Colin Salmon, who plays George Knight, has given an update on his wife after she was diagnosed with a rare health condition prior to him joining the BBC soap EastEnders star Colin Salmon has given a health update on his wife following her devastating illness in an interview with Good Morning Britain. Colin's wife, Fiona Hawthorne, whom he's been married to for over 30 years, suffers from a rare condition called interstitial lung disease, which has left her dependent on an oxygen tank. The actor has been open about his wife's illness in the past, and the motivation behind joining EastEnders, revealing that he "can't be far from home" due to Fiona's condition. The artist was diagnosed with interstitial lung disease two years prior to Colin joining the BBC soap in 2023. She was placed on steroids and received chemotherapy for the condition, which makes it difficult for oxygen to enter the bloodstream. Giving fans a positive update on GMB, Colin said: "Well, I think at the time I mentioned my wife was unwell, which has been resolved. My wife is well, she had the surgery, and I bought a house in America on the 1st of July, we're in a completely different place. "Being in Walford, part of the plan for me was, I always see the BBC as the university of broadcasting, so there I can learn and there I may get the opportunity to start to go down that road with really great crews to make sure I get it right." Elsewhere in the interview, the star teased that he has a 'really disturbing' storyline coming up on the BBC soap. George was previously at the centre of a baby farming storyline, after he learned from his parents that they were actually paid to take him rather than adopt him of their own choosing, but he's now explained that something even more dramatic is on the cards. "We've got another storyline you haven't seen before. I did the farming storyline. We have another storyline that is perfect for this time, it's real, it's really disturbing, and it's coming. I can't tell you what it is." It's been a tough time for George and his family recently, after his split from his wife Elaine, who later decided to sell the pub. After their split, George moved in with his brother Kojo. Spoilers for next week reveal that George is set to find Kojo in a bad way when it's revealed he's taken drugs. It comes as it was revealed that Molly Rainford, who plays George's daughter Anna Knight, would be leaving the soap. It's not yet been revealed when or how she will be leaving the soap but could this storyline tie in with her exit? EastEnders airs Mondays to Thursdays at 7:30pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.

He made light work of the ITV show's pyramid - with 29 seconds remaining to answer the £50,000 Catchphrase. At this point, Joe hit a stumbling block as he tried to work out the last puzzle. It first showed various shops, with stop signs on display in the window. The key focus was "Sign World", which had a single stop sign and an arrow pointing to it. Joe initially guessed "Stop sign" and "Only a stop sign", as the clock ticked away. With only four seconds left, the actor correctly answered "One stop shop." It meant Joe scooped £50,000 for his charity - as well as £6,700 he won in earlier rounds. Host Stephen Mulhern said: "Do you know what, that is incredible. Wow, I have never seen it done like that." Joe then revealed he couldn't wait to share the good news with his charity. Ricky Wilson misses out on huge jackpot as he struggles through Celebrity Catchphrase final - would you have done better He joined the Emmerdale cast this year, playing shady new bad guy Ray Walters. Introduced with connections to Mackenzie (Lawrence Robb), it was revealed he would be involved with Dylan (Fred Kettle). Speaking at the time of his casting, Joe shared: "Well what an honour to join such a talented team at Emmerdale! "It's an iconic show and I'm grateful to be part of it." He added: "I can't wait to see what's in stock for Ray!' Hardest Quiz Show Questions Would you know the answers to some of quizzing TV's hardest questions Who Wants To Be A Millionaire - Earlier this year, fans were left outraged after what they described as the "worst" question in the show's history. Host Jeremy Clarkson asked: 'From the 2000 awards ceremony onwards, the Best Actress Oscar has never been won by a woman whose surname begins with which one of these letters?' The multiple choice answers were between G, K, M and W. In the end, and with the £32,000 safe, player Glen had to make a guess and went for G. It turned out to be correct as Nicole Kidman, Frances McDormand and Kate Winslet are among the stars who have won the Best Actress gong since 2000. - Earlier this year, fans were left outraged after what they described as the "worst" question in the show's history. The 1% Club - Viewers of Lee Mack's popular ITV show were left dumbfounded by a question that also left the players perplexed. The query went as follows: "Edna's birthday is on the 6th of April and Jen's birthday falls on the 15th of October, therefore Amir's birthday must be the 'X' of January." It turns out the conundrum links the numbers with its position in the sentence, so 6th is the sixth word and 15th is the fifteenth word. Therefore, Amir's birthday is January 24th, corresponding to the 24th word in the sentence. - Viewers of Lee Mack's popular ITV show were left dumbfounded by a question that also left the players perplexed. The Chase - The ITV daytime favourite left fans scratching their heads when it threw up one of the most bizarre questions to ever grace the programme. One of the questions asked the player: "Someone with a nightshade intolerance should avoid eating what?" The options were - sweetcorn, potatoes, carrots - with Steve selecting sweetcorn but the correct answer was potatoes. Long-time soap fans will remember Joe as EastEnders' Matthew Rose from 1997 to 2000. The character feuded with Steve Owen (Martin Kemp) - who memorably framed him for murder. Elsewhere, Joe recently shared a difference between working on the two soaps. Celebrity Catchphrase airs on ITV1 and ITVX.
