Brace for traffic congestion as four JDA projects start in Sept

Jaipur: With Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) set to begin work on four major projects in Sept, traffic may move slowly or be diverted at these city areas. Soon, JDA officials will meet the traffic department to finalise the road map for traffic during the construction works. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now "Our aim would be to disturb the city traffic as minimally as possible. We would work in stretches so that, if required, we can divert traffic only on a small stretch of the road. The aim is to complete the projects before the deadline," said an official. A senior JDA official disclosed that the projects comprise two elevated roads in Sanganer and on Gopalpura Bypass Road, as well as two railway overbridges at Shaligrampura Phatak and CBI Phatak. "The work orders have been issued for two of the projects, while tenders for the remaining two have been awarded and work orders will be issued soon," another official added. Officials said these projects may affect traffic movement on the Gopalpura Bypass Road—from the Gopalpura ROB to Gurjar ki Thadi—and on Sanganer Road, Ganga Marg, Jagatpura Road, and roads adjacent to the Shaligrampura Phatak. JDA is awaiting clearance from UDH dept and state govt to finalise dates for the foundation stone-laying ceremonies of these four projects. "We feel the state govt may agree to lay the foundation stones for all these four projects, together with that of Jaipur Metro Line 2, on a single day. We are ready to start the construction works by Sept," stated an official.
