Man found dead in pool of blood named amid fears he was undiscovered for days
He was aged 49. It's understood he was a former Irish Rail employee and now worked as a bus driver. His body was found at his home in the Cregg Road area of Carrick-on-Suir in the early hours on Monday morning.
Gardai are treating his death as suspicious. Sources say he was found in a pool of blood and investigators fear he suffered a violent death. But the sources stressed a post mortem, expected to be carried out on Tuesday, would determine the direction of the Garda investigation.

Officers in Clonmel Station are appealing for anyone with information to contact them on (052) 617 7640, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station.
Although his remains were found at around 3.30am on Monday, gardai want to hear from anyone who was in the area from 8pm on Friday.
One line of inquiry is that he may have been dead for several days.
Tributes have been paid online to Mr Walsh, known to his friends as Squinty, this evening.
One pal said: "A good friend from day one, there will never be another railwayman like Ian. Rip Squinty.'

TRIBUTES HAVE BEEN paid to Irish Rail employee and 'pure gentleman' Ian Walsh who was found dead in Carrick-on-Suir in south Tipperary in the early hours of yesterday morning. The body of Mr Walsh (49) was discovered by relatives at his home in Ravenswood in Cregg Road at 3:30am. Family members raised the alarm and gardai and the emergency services attended at the scene. Mr Walsh was formally pronounced dead by a local GP. He had a number of injuries to his body. It is understood that he had not been seen for a few days. A postmortem examination which will be carried out today at University Hospital in Waterford's will determine the course of the garda investigation. The death is being treated as suspicious in nature. Mr Walsh was well known and liked by his colleagues in Irish Rail and by railway enthusiasts around the country. Garda car 'deliberately' hit by Northern registered Audi in 'serious incident'
An investigation is underway after a motorist 'deliberately' drove into a Garda car in Louth, causing damage to the vehicle. At around 8:30pm on Saturday, August 3, members of the Louth Roads Policing unit were on patrol as part of the Garda Bank Holiday weekend road safety operation when they were involved in a serious incident. Gardaí have been conducting a dedicated road traffic enforcement operation throughout the August Bank Holiday weekend which commenced at 7am on Thursday, July 31 and will continue until 7am Wednesday, August 6. While patrolling the Ravendale area, north of Dundalk, Gardaí observed a grey Northern Ireland registered Audi A4 acting suspiciously. When they attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver deliberately drove into and caused damage to the Roads Policing patrol car showing a reckless disregard for Garda safety.
