Cairo – The Arab Parliament has called for the launch of an international parliamentary charter to criminalize contempt of religions, serving as a moral and legal reference to help counter hate speech and prevent insults to religious symbols and sanctities under any pretext. اضافة اعلان Speaking at the general discussion session of the Second Parliamentary Conference on Interfaith Dialogue in Rome, Arab Parliament Speaker Mohammed bin Ahmed Al-Yamahi emphasized the need for coordinated international efforts led by parliaments and legislative bodies. He highlighted the significant responsibility carried by parliamentarians around the world to enact laws that protect freedom of belief, criminalize hate speech, and support educational and media initiatives that promote a culture of tolerance and acceptance of others. He also stressed the importance of utilizing parliamentary diplomacy to build international partnerships that foster mutual understanding among different peoples.
Al-Yamahi also called for firm action against the phenomenon of insulting religious symbols and sanctities, which is sometimes carried out under the guise of freedom of expression, noting that such acts fuel hatred, undermine the foundations of peaceful coexistence, and threaten both social and global peace.

King Abdullah II chairs high-level security meeting amid regional escalation
His Majesty King Abdullah II emphasised on Sunday that Jordan will not allow any side to exploit current regional developments to cast doubt on its firm stance on key Arab issues. Chairing a meeting at Al Husseiniya Palace with heads of authorities and security agencies, His Majesty stressed the importance of maintaining national unity and strengthening patriotic spirit. The King directed all state institutions to work on mitigating the negative effects of escalating tensions in the region, especially in the economic sphere.
