WNBA star Paige Bueckers confirmed she's dating her former teammate Azzi Fudd, and fans are calling it a 'hard launch.'
During a July 17 interview with WAG Talk, the Dallas Wings guard was asked to answer a few questions about her 'D1 girlfriend,' and at the end, she revealed the person she was referring to was Fudd, her former UConn Huskies teammate.
Some of the questions Bueckers answered were about Fudd's basketball career, her family and the writing that's on Fudd's phone case, which says 'Paige Bueckers' girlfriend' — and she answered them with a smile.
In the comments, fans said they were happy for the couple.
'Ok this is like THE REALL hard launch 😭,' one person wrote.
'She cheesing mad hard too, that's her girl fr,' another said.
A third added, 'This interviewer deserves a raise... I dream for nights like this.'
Gatorade, who named Fudd its 2018-19 National Player of the Year, also got in on the fun.
In the comments, the brand seemingly joked about how long it took Bueckers to answer some of the questions. In the video, she would sometimes take a moment to think about her answer before saying it out loud.
'We were worried for a second there,' Gatorade's account wrote.
After answering a series of questions about what WAG Talk described as her 'D1 girlfriend,' Bueckers was asked to do a 'girlfriend reveal.'
'Azzi Fudd,' the athlete answered with a smile.
In June, eagle-eyed fans noticed Fudd's phone case appeared to read 'Paige Bueckers' girlfriend.'

Brittney Griner gets win with Dream in return to Phoenix

July 24 - Allisha Gray scored 28 points, Brittney Griner celebrated her return to Phoenix with 17 points and a team-high eight rebounds, and the Atlanta Dream beat the host Mercury 90-79 on Wednesday. Jordin Canada added 14 points and six assists and Shatori Walker-Kimbrough contributed 11 points and knocked down three 3-pointers for the Dream, who shot 10 of 24 from long distance and hit 50.7 percent from the field. Gray had three treys, seven rebounds and six assists. DeWanna Bonner scored 18 points, Satou Sabally added 13 and Alyssa Thomas registered seven points, 11 rebounds and nine assists for the Mercury. Thomas did not score in the first half. The Mercury played a video tribute to franchise icon Griner before the game, and she received a prolonged standing ovation. She was a nine-time All-Star in 11 seasons with the Mercury and helped them to the 2014 WNBA title. Griner shot 8-for-12 from the field and wound up two rebounds short of her second double-double of the season. The Dream took a 10-7 lead on Canada's 3-pointer three minutes into the game and never trailed thereafter. Atlanta took its largest lead at 79-63 with 5 1/2 minutes remaining. Bonner scored six straight points to close the gap to 10 before Gray pushed the lead to 13 on a 3-pointer with 3:55 left. The Mercury did not get closer than seven down the stretch. The Dream, who lead the league in rebounding, had a 36-32 advantage on the boards and a 42-24 edge in points in the paint. The Dream had 25 assists on 34 field goals, exploiting the Mercury defense on cuts to the basket. Gray and Canada had six assists apiece. The Mercury had won three of four. Atlanta had lost three of four and six of nine. Kahleah Copper tallied 10 points in her return from injury and reserve Natasha Mack notched a season-high eight points for the Mercury, who put up 35 bench points. Bonner did not start with the return of Sabally, who like Copper had missed the previous four games. The Dream played their fourth game without second-leading scorer Rhyne Howard, who is expected to miss the rest of the month with a left knee injury suffered July 11. She is averaging 16.5 points. --Field Level Media

WNBA star Sophie Cunningham brutally mocks league bosses after being punished for TikTok video

Indiana Fever star Sophie Cunningham has slammed the WNBA after revealing she was fined $500 for criticizing referees. The guard, who has been christened Caitlin Clark 's 'enforcer' this season, recently released a TikTok in which she called out 'some refs' in the league. Clark is among the other stars to have clashed with officials but Cunningham has now been punished over her comments. In the viral video, she wrote '@ some refs' while mouthing a line from Sabrina Carpenter's hit, 'Manchild.' The lyrics she lip-synced were: 'Stupid. Or is it slow? Maybe, it's useless' On Wednesday, Cunningham took to social media once more to reveal her punishment and mock the WNBA. 'I got fined $500 for this TikTok,' Cunningham wrote on X alongside several laughing emojis. I got fined $500 for this TikTok 🤣🤣 idk why this is funny to me… like ok 👍🏼 you got it bud! Cause there's not more important things to be worried about with our league right now — Sophie Cunningham (@sophaller) July 23, 2025 'Idk (I don't know) why this is funny to me…like ok (thumb emoji) you got it bud! Cause there's not more important things to be worried about with our league right now.' She then reposted a reply that read: 'The endless WNBA war on the people who are bringing attention to their product while protecting the behavior that turns people off NEVER ceases to amazed me.' The Fever star did not specify what she meant by 'more important things.' But her comments come amid tension between the WNBA and its players over a new collective bargaining agreement. At least week's All-Star Game, Clark and many of her WNBA rivals staged a protest. They wore t-shirts which read: 'Pay Us What You Owe Us' Cunningham previously made headlines after criticizing the WNBA's expansion plans. Earlier this season, the league announced plans to add teams in Cleveland (2028), Detroit (2029) and Philadelphia (2030). 'You want to listen to your players, too. Where do they want to play? Where are they going to get excited to play and draw fans?' Cunningham said. 'I do think that Miami would have been a great (location). Nashville is an amazing city. Kansas City, amazing opportunity.' She continued: 'I'm not so sure what the thought process is there, but at the end of the day, you want to make sure that you're not expanding our league too fast. 'I think that that's also another thing. It's kind of a hard decision-making situation. But man, I don't know how excited people are to be going to Detroit or (Cleveland).'

Colin Cowherd erupts at WNBA star Kelsey Plum for Caitlin Clark jab following All-Star Game stunt

Fox Sports' Colin Cowherd blasted Los Angeles Sparks star Kelsey Plum for a joke she made at Caitlin Clark 's expense that missed the mark. WNBA players are set to be locked in a fight with the league's owners over salary increases and other items as the collective bargaining agreement between the players' union and owners is set to expire at the end of the season. At this weekend's event, players wore shirts that said 'Pay Us What You Owe Us' - a pointed statement at the owners as they hope to cash in on the rising popularity of the league. Those shirts were agreed upon at a players meeting on Saturday morning. However, according to Plum, no one from 'Team Clark' (Caitlin's roster for the All-Star Game) attended. Plum joked, 'Not to tattletale but, zero members of Team Clark were very present for that.' Sabrina Ionescu, who was part of 'Team Clark', rolled her eyes and replied, 'That really needed to be mentioned.' Plum replied that she was 'trying to make the situation light'. "You went from a Motel 6 in a sketchy part of town to a Four Seasons in the shopping district. Stop talking." @colincowherd reacts to Kelsey Plum calling out Caitlin Clark at WNBA All-Star Weekend — Herd w/Colin Cowherd (@TheHerd) July 21, 2025 Kelsey Plum took a jab at Caitlin Clark over the WNBA All-Stars' calling out league owners Judging by that last comment, it's unclear if Plum meant that no one from Clark's team was physically at the meeting - or if they may have been tired or possibly recovering from a night before. Regardless, Clark and her team wore the shirts throughout the weekend in support of the players' united front to make a better living. But Plum's comments generated outrage across the internet at the time, and it was discussed again on Monday when Cowherd chipped in. After Cowherd remarked that the WNBA players are 'going to get a raise, there's no question', he then took aim at Plum's comments. 'Why do you take a shot at the golden goose, Caitlin Clark?' he asked. 'You guys were flying - before she arrived - on one of those airlines that made you pay for a cup of water. One of those airlines that... the planes are the color of a highlighter. Now you're flying private. 'You went from a Motel 6 in a sketchy part of town to a Four Seasons in the shopping district. Stop talking.' To be clear, Clark wasn't responsible for the WNBA upgrading its travel conditions for players - something the union and players had been demanding for years prior to her arrival in the league (owners who previously provided charter flights for players were even fined by the league before 2024).
