Superdrug said it is focusing particular investment in shopping destinations and retail park shops.
It has invested to offer customers more beauty treatments, such as ear piercing, manicures and eye-brow threading, as its shops.
The company highlighted that investment in its largest stores in recent years helped them deliver sales growth of 25% and the retailer's in-store beauty studios saw a 7% rise in sales in 2024.
Nigel Duxbury, Superdrug property director, commented: 'We want everyone who enters Superdrug to feel an elevated customer experience.
'For us, this is not about a quick and easy purchase, it is about engaging customers with added extras that truly enrich their everyday lives.

'Be that through updated cosmetic stands which can be found in our Brent Cross store, or via great beauty treatments that everyone can afford regularly, or through private clinics that give face-to-face access to healthcare professionals.
'We can see from our sales last year that investing in and increasing the number of large format stores in our estate allows us to accelerate our bricks-and-mortar strategy, so that we can bring the bigger and better shopping experience, that we know our customers love, to even more communities across the UK.'
In January, the firm hailed its strongest-ever Christmas after like-for-like sales increased by 5.1% in the final weeks of 2024.

Free Raising Cane's for National Chicken Finger Day 2025: How to get deal

National Chicken Finger Day is this Sunday, July 27, and fast food chain Raising Cane's has a freebie offer for customers to celebrate the occasion. The company said in a news release on July 16 that it is offering a free chicken finger to all customers who purchase a Box Combo on July 27. This marks the first time the company is making the deal available to all customers and not just Caniac Club loyalty members, the company said. The restaurant chain created the fictional holiday in 2010 and even trademarked the phrase "National Chicken Finger Day" in 2019, according to a news release, and touts that it has given away more than 150,000 chicken fingers on the day alone. Raising Cane's says it has over 900 locations in more than 40 states, and plans to open more than 100 new restaurants "across several new markets" in 2025. New Raising Cane's locations: Raising Cane's is opening 5 restaurants next month. Did your state make the list? When is National Chicken Finger Day? National Chicken Finger Day, which is Sunday, July 27, is an unofficial holiday created by Todd Graves, the founder of Raising Cane's, in 2010 to "recognize and celebrate (the chain's) delicious chicken fingers," the company says on its website. (The event is not to be confused with National Chicken Wing Day, which is Tuesday, July 29.) The chain has tapped rap legend Snoop Dogg to help spread the word about National Chicken Finger Day this year. The rapper will feature in a Christmas-in-July-themed ad spot where he rolls up in a Cadillac sleigh and swaps "ho ho ho" for "yo yo yo" while delivering chicken fingers. Are any other restaurant chains celebrating National Chicken Finger Day? While Wing Stop is not offering any deals or discounts on the day, the chain announced on July 24 that it had filed an application to trademark the phrase "National Chicken Tender Day," which it says is on July 27, in an apparent jab at Raising Cane's. 'Some say that chicken fingers, strips and tenders are the same, but Wingstop isn't buying it,' said Wingstop's Chief Revenue Officer, Mark Christenson, in a news release. "By filing a trademark application to register 'National Chicken Tender Day,' Wingstop is giving the finger to fingers and staking our claim on our distinctive crispy tenders that fans crave.' Meanwhile, Orlando-based restaurant chain Huey Magoo's is also celebrating National Chicken Finger Day by giving away five free Tender Bites with the purchase of any three-piece or larger Tender Meal on July 27. Watch live: What's next for Wanamaker Organ at the former Philadelphia Macy's store?

It's Christmas in July, and what better place to celebrate it than the Wanamaker Building, home of Philadelphia's best-known holiday events? At 10 a.m., several local officials are gathering at the building on Market Street for "a special announcement about the future of some of Philadelphia's most beloved holiday traditions." CBS News Philadelphia will livestream this announcement. You can watch in the player above or anywhere else CBS News Philadelphia is streaming. The heads of the Philadelphia Visitor Center and Opera Philadelphia will be there, as will the Executive Director of the Friends of the Wanamaker Organ and Councilmember Mark Squilla. The organ and Grand Court, which features a one-ton bronze statue of a perched eagle, are designated National Historic Landmarks and are also on the Philadelphia Register of Historic Places — they are required to be preserved. The building is well known for its Christmas Light Show narrated by Julie Andrews, and the Dickens Village walk-through display that Macy's had acquired from Strawbridge's. TF Cornerstone, a New York-based developer, previously announced plans to build 600 loft-style apartments above the retail space in the Wanamaker Building. Once the home of Wanamaker's department store, the retail area was most recently occupied by Macy's before the company announced in January 2025 that it would be closing the store. The Philadelphia Visitor Center and Friends of the Wanamaker Organ have been collecting donations in order to install, operate and staff the light show and Dickens Village for the 2025 holiday season. My son and I celebrate Christmas in July. We exchange gifts, make Christmas cookies, and watch holiday movies.

Five years ago, I decided to celebrate Christmas in July for my son. It brightened our spirits, and we've done it every year since. In many ways, it's more relaxing than the real holiday. To cheer my son up at the onset of the pandemic, I decided to celebrate Christmas in July. I had always thought of doing this, but this was the first time it seemed like something my son and I truly needed. So, that July, I chose a random day and began planning. I told my son the plan, and that pretending it's Christmas during the summer is just a fun thing to do when you can't wait a whole year for the holidays. This explained why he wouldn't be seeing Santa, and why we'd be the only ones he knew celebrating it — it was something special, just for us. I planned for a miniature version of the real holiday Together, we put out a quarter of our usual decorations, including a small tree and stockings. I ordered a couple of small gifts and wrapped them up when they arrived. When I told a friend of mine what we were doing, she said, "Oh, so you're really doing Christmas." That's how I wanted it to feel — like a taste of the real thing. On the day before, we acted like it was Christmas Eve. While listening to Christmas carols, we made the same holiday-shaped cutout cookies we normally make in December for Santa. But instead of leaving them by the stockings, we ate Santa's cookies on the couch with milk before reading 'Twas the Night Before Christmas. After I tucked him in and stuffed his stocking, I watched a corny holiday romcom to get in the spirit. I was surprised by how much I was buying into the whole Christmas in July idea and realized just how much it was brightening my spirits as well. We formed a new tradition rooted in togetherness The next morning, my son had to wait for me to make coffee before he could open his presents. Seeing how excited he was when he opened his gifts made the whole idea of celebrating Christmas in July worth it. Next, we made our Christmas pancakes for breakfast and spent the rest of the day watching our favorite holiday movies. We left our decorations out for about a week, to enjoy the Christmas mood for a while. It was so successful that the next summer my son asked if we could do it again, and I thought, "Why not?" By then, I was engaged, and my fiancé was thankfully willing to be a part of the tradition. It's stuck around, and every year, we choose a day in July to celebrate. It doesn't have to be the 25th, just any day we can totally block off for our festivities, which include making cookies, exchanging one or two small gifts, making pancakes for breakfast, and having a Christmas movie marathon. Our July Christmas is so much more relaxing than the real thing My son gets so excited about our mini Christmas that when it's coming up, he tells whoever he sees about our plans. The reactions range from mild confusion to thinking it sounds sweet. In many ways, I've come to prefer our summer Christmas over the true holiday. Our tradition is less about the gifts and more about enjoying the time together. We also don't have to worry about the social obligations and packed schedule that often come with the holiday season. It's relaxing to just be lazy and enjoy a snapshot of Christmas halfway through the year. There's no pressure from the outside world to show up anywhere. It's just us in our little bubble, experiencing something simple yet no less magical. Our Christmas in July tradition helps us slow down and reconnect before it's time for back-to-school and the truly fast-paced holiday season that follows.
