I tried the £3.50 dupe of Sol de Janeiro's viral body mist — it's identical and £20 cheaper

SOL de Janeiro's signature Cheirosa 62 scent has been a viral favourite for several years now, but it doesn't come cheap. Superdrug has answered beauty fans' prayers by releasing a dupe of the cult body mist, and I put the £3.50 buy to the test. Fruit Caramel & Pistachio Body Mist, £3.49 from Superdrug The premium perfume costs £24 for a 90ml bottle, while Superdrug's version is £20 cheaper for a 100ml bottle. The retailer isn't hiding the fact that its Fruity Mist Caramel & Pistachio Spray is a dupe of the iconic Sol de Janeiro Cheirosa 62' fragrance. Even at first glance, the similarities are clear, but does the beauty dupe hold up against the real thing? Spoiler alert: it certainly does. Performance Cheirosa 62' is known and loved for its warm mix of pistachio, salted caramel and vanilla, and the high-street version follows suit with almost identical notes (minus the vanilla). I put the two scents head-to-head to see how they compared, assessing the scent, longevity, packaging and value for money. Fruit Caramel & Pistachio Body Mist, £3.49 from Superdrug BUY HERE Sol de Janeiro's fragrance has a warmer tone, while Superdrug's version smelt slightly more intense, feeling more like a perfume than a body mist. I roped several of my colleagues into blindly testing both fragrances, and three out of four were convinced that Superdrug's version was the more expensive. I roped several of my colleagues into blindly testing both fragrances, and three out of four were convinced that Superdrug's version was the most expensive. As for lasting power, there was still a light hint of both scents on my wrist after a few hours, with Sol de Janeiro's spray lingering ever so slightly longer. However, I'd say both mists require top-ups throughout the day, and it's easier to justify the extra spritzing when a bottle costs less than a fiver. Both give a light, fresh scent that reminds me of being on holiday, and the smaller bottles are perfect for packing on trips away. Comparing the ingredients list, Superdrug has 17 ingredients, while Sol de Janeiro keeps it simple with just eight. Price and packaging Not only is Superdrug's £3.49 spray £20 less than Sol de Janeiro's, but the 100ml bottle is also slightly larger. The packaging of the two models is almost identical — both come in plastic bottles with spray nozzles (which work well for getting the most out of the product). Both contain a similar caramel-coloured formula, but Sol de Janeiro's packaging takes the edge with its signature white branding, which feels slightly more luxe. Superdrug's body mist comes in five scents, and shoppers have noted that the Vanilla and Violet is also a dupe of Sol de Janeiro's Vanilla & Violet mist. Sol de Janeiro's body mist is a regular in Boots' popular beauty boxes. The latest release is the retailer's £55 Love Island Beauty Box worth £290, featuring the trending body mist in the Cheirosa 48' scent. Beauty Bay launched a £35 holiday beauty box earlier in the year, which contained a mini version of Sol de Janeiro's Bum Bum Cream. shoppers were also rushing to pick up Lidl's version of the cult perfume.

Princess Andre splashes cash on huge haul of designer gear after bagging reality TV deal

Princess Andre admitted her 'bank account hates her' after spending thousands on designer goods after vowing to become a millionaire before she's 20 Princess Andre has splashed the cash on a huge haul of designer gear after bagging a mega money reality TV deal. The daughter of Peter Andre and Katie Price, who recently turned 18, is currently filming her fly-on-the-wall show as she promises to give fans a sneak peak into her glamorous life. ‌ The teenager, who also models for fashion brand, Pretty Little Thing, boasts more than 743,000 followers on her Instagram, and has contracts with Superdrug, Studio London, Morphe and Revolution, has vowed to become a 'millionaire by the age of 20'. ‌ And it looks like she's getting in some practice for her bumper pay day, after hitting the shops and spending thousands on goods from Louis Vuitton, the Apple store, Charlotte Tilbury makeup and Sephora. ‌ Sharing snaps of the bags from the boot of her car, Princess admitted: "My bank account hates me" as she posted the snap on Instagram. She also shared a photo of luxury store, Louis Vuitton, where its monogrammed bags start from over £1,000. Princess made her modelling debut last year with PLT and is preparing to star in her own TV show for the first time. ‌ The influencer is set to make thousands and take after her famous parents by becoming a reality star in her own right. A source told The Sun: 'Princess is very conscious of the fact her mum got famous very early in her career, so Katie is a big inspiration to her. Bagging her own TV show is a huge deal, but producers are keen to stress it is about her and not her famous parents. Both Katie and Peter are likely to feature, though it will likely be more as cameo stars.' ‌ However, Katie recently claimed that she'd been banned from appearing in the show on Princess' birthday as she appeared to blame her ex, Peter and his management. Speaking to her sister, Sophie, on their podcast, she said: "Princess is now officially an adult so mummy and Princess can now go out together. If certain people would let her be seen with me. "Everyone knows she's doing this documentary - and I'm not in it. Certain people don't think it's good for Princess to be seen with me. Certain people that used to look after me." "You aren't on brand Katie. You are too risky Katie that's why," her sister retorted. "It's pathetic. I'm her mother," Katie snapped. "It's so sad," she lamented. "When certain people who used to look after me are now looking after..." Katie was then cut off by sister Sophie who encouraged her to "save it for another day."

Seven savvy ways to repair your damaged hair without splurging on expensive products

Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) IF you have been soaking up the sun recently, your hair might need some TLC. UV rays, chlorine in swimming pools, sea salt from the beach and extra heat-styling on your locks for holiday nights out can all take their toll. Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up 6 Seven savvy ways to repair your damaged hair without splurging on expensive products Credit: Getty But you can revive tresses without expensive products using these top tricks . . . HEALING POWER: Pure Aloe Vera gel, £4.86, Holland & Barrett, doesn't just do wonders for sunburn — it is a miracle worker for dry scalps and split ends. Massage into roots to soothe irritation, or smooth through lengths to seal moisture. SWEET IDEA: Combine one tablespoon of sugar with two tablespoons of olive oil for an exfoliating scalp scrub that removes product build-up. Gently massage in before shampooing to boost circulation and banish flakes. VINEGAR CLARIFYING RINSE: Swimming in chlorine dulls hair, but an apple cider vinegar rinse (one part vinegar to three parts water) strips residue for really glossy hair. Pour on after shampooing, leave for two mins, then rinse. DIY MASK: Mix two tablespoons honey, one mashed banana, and one tablespoon coconut oil for a deep-conditioning mask. Apply to damp hair, leave for 30 mins, then rinse. The natural enzymes and oils tame frizz and can restore shine. GREEN TEA GLOSS: Brew two green tea bags in a mug and leave to cool for 30 minutes. Once it has lowered in temperature, use the tea as a final rinse to enhance shine and reduce brassiness. SLEEP SAVER: Swerve pricey silk bonnets and repurpose a satin dressing gown instead. Tie hair in a loose topknot and wrap with the fabric to prevent hair breakage while you sleep. DEEP TREAT: For extra repair, apply a pea-sized amount of pure glycerin, £6, Superdrug, to damp ends before bed. It's a humectant, which means it draws moisture into strands overnight, and one bottle will last for ages. All prices on page correct at time of going to press. Boots shoppers 'always get compliments' on £20 designer perfume

The perfume is on offer for half of its usual price, giving fans a tempting reason to stock up Boots shoppers have said that a "bargain" perfume is a "beautiful" scent that works well during the summer months. And, the affordable spray is now half its usual price, prompting fans to stock up on this perfume that "always get compliments." Boots describes the Ghost Eau De Toilette (50ml) as a "timeless and feminine" fragrance. Experts mix a range of lush floral scents, such as hibiscus, rose petals, and jasmine, with spicy sandalwood and warm incense to create the base of this popular fragrance. The perfume adds touches of vanilla, musk, ambergris, and apricot to "provide a satiny quality to the fragrance." Normally worth £40 a bottle, Boots is offering the 50ml version of this classic scent for just £20. There are similar floral perfumes out there which also have great discounts (at the time of writing). Superdrug has cut the cost of a 100ml bottle of Calvin Klein Euphoria Eau de Parfum for Women (was £87, now £35) and The Perfume Shop has a massive saving on Marc Jacobs Perfect, offering 50ml of fragrance worth £89 for £44.99. But, the popular Ghost perfume has been available for decades—since 2000—and has clearly held onto fans for generations and pick up new fans in 2025. On the Boots website, it has a nearly flawless rating of 4.7 stars out of five, using more than 120 reviews from customers. One said: "I love this perfume, have used it for years. Another added: "Love the scent, Great for any occasion, it has gorgeous flowery undertones, which last a very long time its perfect and not overpowering." A third wrote: "Lovely fragrance with a not-so-hefty price tag. Always get compliments." Someone else put: "Beautiful light fragrance. Always reminds me of summer." However, there were some critics. One person suggested: " Nice price but way too sweet for my taste!" And, another wrote online: "I can't deal with the smell, it is far too overpowering!" But, most of the reviews were glowing. Another five-star take claimed: "I love this fragrance. It smells sweet and fresh at the same time. If you spray on hair or clothes, it lasts a long time." Another added: "I have used Ghost the Fragrance for many years. It has a lovely, light, feminine, fragrance that lasts for a long time. Really good fragrance." And, one more said: "Lovely scent not too strong or overpowering. Very elegant bottle too. Great value."
