Boots shoppers 'always get compliments' on £20 designer perfume

Daily Record2 days ago
The perfume is on offer for half of its usual price, giving fans a tempting reason to stock up
Boots shoppers have said that a "bargain" perfume is a "beautiful" scent that works well during the summer months. And, the affordable spray is now half its usual price, prompting fans to stock up on this perfume that "always get compliments."
Boots describes the Ghost Eau De Toilette (50ml) as a "timeless and feminine" fragrance. Experts mix a range of lush floral scents, such as hibiscus, rose petals, and jasmine, with spicy sandalwood and warm incense to create the base of this popular fragrance.
The perfume adds touches of vanilla, musk, ambergris, and apricot to "provide a satiny quality to the fragrance." Normally worth £40 a bottle, Boots is offering the 50ml version of this classic scent for just £20.
There are similar floral perfumes out there which also have great discounts (at the time of writing). Superdrug has cut the cost of a 100ml bottle of Calvin Klein Euphoria Eau de Parfum for Women (was £87, now £35) and The Perfume Shop has a massive saving on Marc Jacobs Perfect, offering 50ml of fragrance worth £89 for £44.99.
But, the popular Ghost perfume has been available for decades—since 2000—and has clearly held onto fans for generations and pick up new fans in 2025. On the Boots website, it has a nearly flawless rating of 4.7 stars out of five, using more than 120 reviews from customers.
One said: "I love this perfume, have used it for years. Its a lovely light, soft fragrance that is great for day or evening." Another added: "Love the scent, Great for any occasion, it has gorgeous flowery undertones, which last a very long time its perfect and not overpowering."
A third wrote: "Lovely fragrance with a not-so-hefty price tag. Always get compliments." Someone else put: "Beautiful light fragrance. Always reminds me of summer."
However, there were some critics. One person suggested: " Nice price but way too sweet for my taste!" And, another wrote online: "I can't deal with the smell, it is far too overpowering!"
But, most of the reviews were glowing. Another five-star take claimed: "I love this fragrance. It smells sweet and fresh at the same time. If you spray on hair or clothes, it lasts a long time."
Another added: "I have used Ghost the Fragrance for many years. It has a lovely, light, feminine, fragrance that lasts for a long time. Really good fragrance." And, one more said: "Lovely scent not too strong or overpowering. Very elegant bottle too. Great value."

Kyle Sandilands' chauffeur reveals shock missing body part after $1million Rolls-Royce crashed into him: 'It's totally gone'

Kyle Sandilands ' driver has provided an update on his condition after a car accident left him with horrific injuries. George Plassaras, 52, was involved in a collision with a $1million Rolls-Royce in Sydney 's Rose Bay at 3.30am on Saturday. The crash left Plassaras with a broken spine, broken ribs, a ruptured spleen and diaphragm, a torn open abdomen, two broken hips and two broken femurs. Speaking from the ICU on Wednesday's Kyle & Jackie O show, George revealed that he has a lengthy road to recovery. 'I've got no right hip. It's totally gone,' Plassaras told hosts Sandilands and Jackie 'O' Henderson. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. 'I've just been laying flat since Saturday, since the accident.' Plassaras, who has known Sandilands for a decade, mentioned that he will need hip surgery on his driving leg, which will keep him off the road for some time. He will also have to undergo a second operation on his knee. The driver added that doctors will have to wait until his hip operation to ascertain the extent of the damage to his spine. 'I've basically got no hip. After the operation, I can't legally drive for six weeks,' Plassaras continued. 'After the hip [surgery], I've got to do my right knee, they've got to check my X-ray for my spine, once I do my hip. 'There's a long list of injuries.' Plassaras also seemed mildly disappointed that Sandilands had not visited him in the hospital, telling his employer: 'You sent Bruno [Bouchet, Kyle's manager]. I thought there was a chance you were going to come.' When Sandilands added that he called Plassaras via FaceTime, co-host Henderson asked: 'What were you doing that was so important?' Ever the faithful employee, Plassaras replied: 'Whatever he does is important. You've just got to run with whatever he does.' When Sandilands and Henderson pressed Plassaras for more details of the accident, much of the on-air conversation was censored due to upcoming court proceedings. Plassaras did reveal, however, that he was more concerned with how the incident would affect his employer. 'The Police Rescue were laughing because I'm like, "I've got to check my phone to see when I'm driving Kyle again",' he said. 'You can't buy that loyalty!' Sandilands proudly replied. It comes after Sandilands' manager, Bruno Bouchet, provided an update on the radio star's driver on Tuesday. Bouchet told Daily Mail Australia that Plassaras woke up from a coma on Sunday night and only recalls 'pulling out of his street and then being cut out of his van' by a heroic rescue team. 'Despite his condition, he still has a great sense of humour and was making jokes about how badly his friend's NRL team was going this season,' he added. The young woman who was behind the wheel of the Rolls-Royce 4WD while allegedly drunk is the owner of a second Rolls-Royce – a white Ghost convertible – which is parked in the garage of her luxury penthouse apartment. LanLan Yang crashed her $1 million Rolls-Royce Cullinan into the Mercedes van being driven by Plassaras on New South Head Road. NSW Police allege the 23-year-old Yang veered onto the wrong side of the road, having watched CCTV footage of the collision. Plassaras, who runs Dakota Limousines, was trapped in the wreckage while bystanders called triple zero. He could be heard yelling for help inside the crushed vehicle, as emergency crews from NSW Police Rescue and Fire and Rescue NSW worked to free him. Police say Yang returned a positive result in a roadside breath test, and she was arrested at the scene. At Waverley Police Station, she allegedly refused to undergo a breath analysis. Yang was charged with causing bodily harm by misconduct while in charge of a motor vehicle, and refusing or failing to submit to a breath analysis. She was granted conditional bail and ordered to surrender her passport. Under the strict conditions, she has been prohibited from driving a car and must remain at her Waverley mansion between 8pm and 6am daily. Yang is scheduled to appear at Downing Centre Local Court on August 15.
