Reliance Industries Q4 results today: Jio to Retail — 5 things to watch out for in Mukesh Ambani-led company's earnings

Mint25-04-2025

Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL), the billionaire Mukesh Ambani-led oil-to-telecom conglomerate, is set to report its Q4 results today. Along with the Reliance Q4 results, the company will also declare its earnings for the full financial year ending 31 March 2025.
Reliance Industries Q4 results are expected to be mixed, with modest growth anticipated in the telecom and retail segments, while the oil & gas business could face headwinds from elevated crude oil prices.
'Reliance Industries Q4 results are expected to remain stable. However, operating profit may come under pressure due to higher crude oil prices. The oil and gas business could stay flat, while Jio and the retail segment may post some growth. Overall, it is likely to be a mixed and stable quarter, with no major surprises expected. Markets are pricing in a tepid Q4 performance," said Avinash Gorakshakar, the head of research at Profitmart Securities.
Here are 5 key things to watch out for in Reliance Q4 results today:
Reliance Industries' consolidated revenue is expected to rise 2.6% QoQ to ₹ 2,46,263 crore, compared to ₹ 2,39,986 crore in the previous quarter.
Consolidated EBITDA is projected to increase marginally by 0.5% to ₹ 44,002 crore, versus ₹ 43,789 crore in Q3FY25, according to Kotak Institutional Equities. However, the EBITDA margin is expected to contract by 38 basis points to 17.9% from 18.2% QoQ.
Reliance's Oil-to-Chemicals (O2C) segment is likely to post a 14% YoY decline in EBITDA, while remaining flat sequentially. The decline is attributed to weaker product cracks and lower petrochemical spreads, as per estimates by Nuvama Institutional Equities. Benchmark Singapore Gross Refining Margins (GRMs) have dropped 58% YoY, reflecting the global weakness in product cracks.
The Oil & Gas business is expected to report a 9% YoY drop in EBITDA and an 8% decline QoQ, primarily due to reduced output from the KG-D6 block. This comes despite a 2% YoY increase in deepwater gas prices, which remained flat sequentially.
Reliance Jio is expected to report a 1.5% QoQ rise in standalone revenue to ₹ 30,058 crore, driven by subscriber additions and a slight improvement in Average Revenue Per User (ARPU). Jio's ARPU is estimated to grow 0.7% QoQ to ₹ 204.8 from ₹ 203.3, aided by the ongoing benefits of the July 2024 tariff hike, despite Q4FY25 having two fewer days.
EBITDA for Jio is projected to grow 1.6% QoQ to ₹ 16,056 crore, with margins expanding by 10 basis points to 53.4%.
The retail segment is expected to deliver a steady performance in Q4. EBITDA is estimated to grow 11% YoY, supported by increased store footprint, better margins, and improved realisations.
Going forward, investor attention will be on management commentary around margin outlook, developments in new energy initiatives, the timeline for potential listings of Jio and Reliance Retail, the crude oil price outlook, 5G rollout strategy, retail network expansion, and updates on KG-D6 production trends and future exploration plans.
At 9:40 AM, Reliance share price was trading 0.99% higher at ₹ 1,314.50 apiece on the BSE.

RBI cuts repo rate by 50 bps to 5.50 pc

Mumbai, June 6 (UNI) The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Friday in its second bi-monthly monetary policy of FY26. cut the repo rate by 50 basis points (bps) to 5.50 pc from 6.00 pc earlier. This is the central bank's third consecutive repo rate cut. RBI Governor Sanjay Malhotra-led Monetary Policy led committee decided to cut the Cash Reserve Ratio (CRR) by 100 basis points (bps) to 3% from 4% earlier releasing Rs 2.5 lakh crore of lendable resources to the banking system. The MPC also decided to change the policy stance to 'Neutral' from 'Accommodative' in a bid to support economic growth. This RBI's rate cut decision is expected to stimulate borrowing and investment, leading to a higher growth rate. The policy panel retained growth estimate at 6.5 per cent but projected a lower inflation of 3.7 per cent in the current fiscal. Malhotra asserted that the global backdrop remains fragile, and trade projections have been revised downwards, but the Indian economy is progressing well despite the global uncertainties. "India's strength comes from the strong balance sheets of the five major sectors. The Indian economy offers immense opportunities to local and foreign investors. We are already growing at a fast rate. We aspire to grow faster," he said. Inflation has softened significantly, the RBI Governor said, and the near-term and medium-term outlook exudes confidence. Food inflation outlook remains soft, and core inflation is expected to remain benign. The RBI also projected that retail inflation for the current financial year would be 3.7% against its April projection of 4%. Government data shows it fell to 3.16% in April from 3.34% in March, remaining within the RBI's comfort level. The various economic indicators remain strong, with the RBI Governor pointing to a gradual rise in discretionary spending and healthy private consumption. Industrial activity is gaining gradually while the services sector is likely to maintain momentum, he said. Rural demand remains steady while urban demand is improving, he added. The RBI kept the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth projection unchanged at 6.5% in the current financial year. The quarterly projections are: 2.9% (April-June), 3.4% (July-September), 3.9% (October-December), and 4.4% (January-March). The Central bank also reduced the cash reserve ratio (CRR) by 100 bps and said it will release Rs 2.5 lakh crore of bank funds. CRR refers to the percentage of total deposits that banks must hold in liquid form with the RBI. India continues to be an attractive investment destination, assured Mr Malhotra, adding that the forex reserves stand at $691 billion, which is sufficient to fund more than 11 months of goods imports. India, Central Asian nations condemn Pahalgam attack, reaffirm commitment to fighting against terrorism

New Delhi, June 6 (UNI) India and the five Central Asian countries today unequivocally condemned the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, and reaffirmed their firm commitment to fight against terrorism in all its forms and manifestations. In a joint statement, issued after the 4th meeting of the India-Central Asia Dialogue held in New Delhi today, under the chairship of External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, the countries reiterated that providing safe haven, using terrorist proxies for cross-border terrorism, terror financing, arms and drugs trafficking, dissemination of a radical ideology and abuse of cyber space to spread disinformation and incite violence, goes against the basic principles of humanity and international relations. They stressed that perpetrators, organisers, financiers and sponsors of terrorist acts must be held accountable and brought to justice. In this context, they called for early adoption of the UN Comprehensive Convention on International Terrorism. They also stressed the need to strengthen UN-led global counter-terrorism cooperation and fully implement the relevant UNSC resolutions, Global Counter-Terrorism Strategy and FATF standards. The participating ministers at the dialogue include: FM Sirojiddin Muhriddin of Tajikistan, Deputy PM and FM Murat Nurtleu of Kazakhstan, FM Zheenbek Kulubaev of Kyrgyz Republic, FM Rashid Meredov of Turkmenistan and FM Bakhtiyor Saidov of Uzbekistan. The Ministers appreciated the First meeting of the India-Central Asia Joint Working Group on Chabahar Port held in Mumbai in April 2023. India welcomed the interest of Central Asian countries to utilise the services of the Shahid Beheshti Terminal, being operated by India, at the Chabahar Port for facilitating their trade with India and beyond. They agreed to continue engagement for further developing the transit and transport potential of their countries, through simplification and streamlining of goods transit procedures, including greater use of TIR Carnet between India and Central Asia for movement of goods. The ministers underlined the importance of greater financial connectivity between India and Central Asian countries, including through digital payment systems, enhanced interbank relations, and trade in national currencies to encourage greater trade, investment, tourism and people-to-people exchanges. They also expressed interest in setting up a Joint Working Group to explore ways to further deepen banking and financial connectivity between India and Central Asian partners. The Ministers emphasised optimum usage of the International North-South Transport Corridor (INSTC) to enhance connectivity between India and the Central Asian countries. They stressed that connectivity initiatives should be based on the principles of transparency, broad participation, local priorities, financial sustainability, respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity of all countries. India reiterated its support for the membership of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan in INSTC. In this context, Ministers appreciated the initiative taken by Kazakhstan to develop the eastern branch of INSTC. The Ministers noted the importance of holding regular consultations among the National Security Councils of India and the Central Asian countries to strengthen efforts to counter terrorism and other emerging challenges in the region. They looked forward to the third edition of the Consultations to be held in the Kyrgyz Republic. They also expressed interest in joint exploration of rare earth and critical minerals. Appreciating the outcomes of the first India-Central Asia Rare Earth Forum held in September 2024 in New Delhi, they called for holding the second India-Central Asia Rare Earth Forum meeting at the earliest convenience. They also encouraged exchange of delegations to explore new areas of cooperation in critical minerals. Earlier, EAM Jaishankar in a post on X said he expressed India's appreciation of the Central Asian partners condemning the heinous terrorist attack in Pahalgam. 'Delighted to chair the 4th India-Central Asia Dialogue in Delhi this morning.
