‘Missing' MNC manager found hiding in Ayodhya
New Delhi: Days after a 42-year-old man working as a manager at a Gurgaon-based multinational company went missing mysteriously, he has resurfaced alive in Ayodhya. His unlocked white Santro car, found abandoned near a drain in southwest Delhi's Kakrola, had initially sparked fears of a suicide.
However, police said he carefully staged his disappearance in a bid to escape mounting debt.
According to police sources, the man returned to Delhi days after triggering a major search operation involving the fire service and rescue teams. The case first came to light after a PCR call reported a suspiciously parked vehicle, leading authorities to believe the man may have jumped into the drain.
But several details raised doubts. The car was unlocked, and no personal belongings were found inside. Adding to the mystery, the man had formatted his mobile phone the day before he vanished. As investigators turned to digital tracking, surveillance footage and technical analysis eventually led them to Ayodhya, where the man was found staying discreetly at a dharmshala, completely cut off from his normal life.

New Delhi, June 12 (UNI) 'Pakistan's track record is very clear,' India said on Thursday as it sought to remind the US about Islamabad's history of supporting terrorism, including granting of shelter to Osama Bin Laden. The assertion by External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal came a day after US Central Command Chief General Michael Kurilla praised Pakistan, saying it was a 'phenomenal counter-terrorism partner' in the fight against terrorism and also commended it for support in operations against ISIS. 'We all know Pahalgam attack is only the recent example of cross-border terrorism. I would remind you that only recently one of the conspirators of 26/11 Tahawwur Rana was extradited from the US to India,' Jaiswal said during the weekly briefing. Rana, Pakistani origin Canadian citizen, is associated with Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terror outfit and was one of the key plotter of Mumbai terror attack of 2008. 'Obviously none of us have forgotten that Pakistan gave shelter to Osama bin Laden. It is significant that the person and you would be aware that Dr Shakeel Afridi, who helped locate Osama Bin Laden is still imprisoned by Pakistani military,' he added. Laden, chief of Al-Qaida terror network, was found and killed by Special Forces of America in May 2011 in a surgical operation at a residential house in Abbottabad, near Pakistan's capital Islamabad and close to military cantonment. Activist files police complaint against Siddaramaiah, seeks action under Sec. 132 of BNS
Belagavi-based activist Bheemappa Gundappa Gadad has filed a complaint against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah saying that he (Siddaramaiah) tried to assault a senior police officer in Belagavi on April 28. Mr. Gadad filed the complaint at the Camp Police Station on Thursday. He accused Mr. Siddaramaiah of intimidating, insulting and trying to assault Additional Superintendent of Police, Dharwad, Narayan Baramani, who was on duty during a Congress rally in Belagavi. The Chief Minister was upset that the police were unable to prevent a protest by some women activists from the BJP, as they raised black flags and also slogans against the Chief Minister and asked him to 'Go to Pakistan'. The Chief Minister raised his hand in anger and tried to strike Mr. Baramani. The officer took a step back while on stage. The complainant asked the local police to act against the Chief Minister under Section 132 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Samhita (assault or criminal force to deter a public servant from discharging duty). Mr. Gadad attached a compact disc of a video clip of the incident. He said that he will complain to the National Human Rights Commission against the Chief Minister.

Robert Vadra misses ED appearance due to flu, says he's cooperating
New Delhi [India], June 12 (ANI): Advocate Suman Jyoti Khaitan, counsel for businessman Robert Vadra, on Tuesday addressed the media through a virtual press conference to clarify his client's absence from the Enforcement Directorate (ED) appearance in a money laundering case. Khaitan, speaking via Zoom, said recent media reports wrongly implied that Vadra was evading ED summons. 'These reports are misleading. Vadra developed flu-like symptoms and was advised to undergo a COVID-19 test, which he has taken. He is following all necessary health precautions,' Khaitan stated. Reaffirming Vadra's cooperation with the investigation, Khaitan said, 'He has willingly offered to join the probe through virtual mode and has previously submitted voluminous documentation to the ED.' The lawyer further stated that Vadra's prior appearances, including a three-day questioning in April in a separate money laundering case linked to a 2008 Haryana land deal. Khaitan also disclosed that Vadra plans to travel abroad later this month to attend his daughter's graduation ceremony, but remains open to participating in the ED probe either before or after the trip. Vadra, the husband of Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, was summoned by the ED recently in connection with a case involving UK-based arms dealer Sanjay Bhandari. Sources said Vadra sought a deferment of the summons and will be given a new date for recording his statement under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). In 2023, the ED filed a chargesheet alleging that Bhandari purchased and renovated a property at 12, Bryanston Square, London, on Vadra's instructions and with his financial support--an allegation Vadra strongly denies. He has dismissed the case as a 'political witch hunt' aimed at 'harassing him for political reasons.' The agency is also probing Vadra in another money laundering matter linked to land transactions in Bikaner, Rajasthan, where he and his mother have previously been questioned. (ANI)
