I'm a TUI travel agent – the clever sticky note hack I use when packing that's a gamechanger

A TRAVEL agent has revealed her genius sticky note hack, that will help you to have a stress-free holiday.
With just a few weeks left of the school summer holidays, many families are likely making plans to jet off and make the most of the summer sun.
1
And while holidays can give us some of our most treasured memories, getting everything organised for the trip can be incredibly stressful.
Claire Le Moigne has been working for TUI for 35 years, and in that time has booked over 6,000 holidays for loyal customers.
During her long career, the travel agent has picked up countless helpful tips, and swears by her simple sticky note hack.
Sticky note hack
Ever got to your hotel and realised you've forgotten your travel adaptor, toothbrush or favourite bikini?
In the mad rush to get everything packed, it is incredibly common for people to forget to pack essentials.
To prevent this, Claire recommends writing a checklist on a sticky note, and placing it on your door, to help jog your memory whilst you're packing.
'The week before I travel, I write a list of things I need to buy; the essentials like sun cream and insect repellent", she told National World.
"It keeps me super relaxed on the way to the airport knowing everything is already in my case.'
The travel whizz added that before you zip up your case, you should read through everything on your sticky note, and physically check it off.
Don't overpack
Claire revealed that 88% of Brits pack clothes that they don't end up wearing on holiday.
Stacey Solomon shows off hack she swears by to make packing for holiday much easier - & you can nab it from Ikea for £6
These clothes take up space that could be used for vital essentials, and may mean you end up paying for extra baggage you don't need.
To avoid falling in to this trap, Claire recommends planning out the exact outfits you will wear each day.
"Take a quick picture and then you'll be able to remember exactly which options you have", she added.
Ditch folding
Although you may be tempted to use the same technique when packing your bag as when you're folding laundry, Claire revealed that this will leave your clothes creased - and nobody wants to be ironing on holiday!
Holiday packing tips
Jemma Solomon, aka The Label Lady has got 5 packing tips to help you get organised for your next holiday.
1. Write a list
Think about all the essentials you need to take with you; suncream, medicine, a few games for the kids, beach towels, and write everything in one list, which you can tick off as you add it to your suitcase.
Or for complete ease, try Google's AI app - Gemini - which will create a list for you and help you not over pack.
2. Involve your kids
Jemma said: 'My girls are getting older, they're 11 and nine, and they enjoy helping to pack. So I send them a list, and say 'this is what you need' and they follow the list.
'And then I give them a rucksack each - and say to them 'you can have whatever you want in there as long as it's not liquid', and they can take that on the plane. And that's their 'home away from home' items.'
3. Try a hack or two
She said: "I think they all work, but for different reasons - and you've just got to pick the right one for your trip.
"Rolling your clothes is really good to stop your clothes from getting creases. And if you're trying to get a lot of items into your case, it's a space saver.
'Packing cubes are great - for example, I'm going on holiday with my three kids and we're all using the same suitcase for our clothes.
"These handy compartments let you separate your clothes, toiletries and tech into designated cubes, maximising luggage space by keeping your items compressed and neatly stacked.
"I love taking them abroad with the family and it means my kids can easily take charge of their own items once we've arrived."
4. Decant beauty products
Do you really need to take full-size bottles of shampoo and conditioner with you? The beauty industry has evolved so much, you can now buy shampoo bars or sheets - which are much lighter and smaller.
Or, if you'll be popping to the shops when you're abroad, consider buying some items when you arrive.
5. Get organised before you come home
Jemma said: 'When you repack on holiday [before coming home], the trick is to separate clean from dirty clothes.
'Also pack it in some form of order - so lights, darks, colours for items that need washing, or if you wash your clothes by person in the household, piles for each person.
"Then you can put it straight into the washing machine. Do it straight away, don't leave it."
Instead, the travel agent shared that she likes to roll up her clothes, which leaves them crease free, and is also a great space saver.
"If you need that extra bit of compression you can try the 'bundle method' where you wrap larger items around smaller ones", she advised.
Downsize toileteries
Many people take the whole bathroom cabinet with them when packing for holidays, but most hotels have shampoo and shower gel in the rooms.
If you can't bear to part with your favourite shampoo, it's a good idea to get some tiny reusable bottles to decant a week's worth in to, to help you save space.
" Make-up wipes and solid toiletries like shampoo bars can also save space and prevent leaks", she added.
"If in doubt, it's worth wrapping up a bottle in a plastic bag to prevent any spillages in transit.'

Things are getting serious! Jelena Dokic shares a look inside her romantic holiday in Bali with new man Yane

Jelena Dokic and her boyfriend Yane Veselinov are on their first romantic holiday as a couple. The pair, who went Instagram official in recent weeks, have headed off on vacation to Bali together. The former Australian tennis champion was spotted at the airport arriving for the trip on Monday, and on Tuesday shared a glimpse at the getaway with her fans. In the photo, shared to Instagram, the 42-year-old beamed as she posed alongside Yane while they visited some sweet monkeys. 'Two monkeys,' Yane captioned the holiday snap, which Jelena re-shared to her own social media. She also posted several more images from the trip. The sports commentator enjoyed a luxurious lunch in one image, posing in an emerald dress which showcased her recent weight loss. Further images showed Jelena enjoying the natural surroundings, with Yane behind the camera capturing her bliss. The couple went Instagram official, posing together in a loved-up selfie last month. Jelena gushed over her man in the caption, writing: 'You are my calm, safe, peaceful and happy place. So glad I found you.' Little is known about Yane, who is a hospitality operations manager, but his Instagram bio describes him as a 'food and wine enthusiast, pleasure seeker and life enjoyer.' It comes after the pair sparked marriage rumours last month. Jelena sent tongues wagging when she visited a Melbourne bridal store and hinted that 'something special' was coming. 'Something insane coming very soon...,' she gushed in the post alongside images of bridal gowns from bridal boutique Alin Le' Kal. 'Something special in the works with Alin Le' Kal,' she captioned the second image. Lastly, Jelena uploaded a video as she panned the camera to show the entire bridal store. Only weeks earlier, she was spotted cuddling up to a 'mystery man' at Melbourne Airport, who turned out to be Yane. Late last year, Jelena revealed she had been 'closed off' to finding love ever since she split from her long-time Brazilian boyfriend, Tin Bikic. The couple were together for almost 19 years before announcing they had ended their relationship in 2021. Despite saying that her walls have been up ever since, Jelena took to Instagram to make the heartbreaking admission that she's 'scared of being alone' for the rest of her life. 'Love. It's been a challenging personal period. We don't talk about this enough but relationship breakdowns are so tough,' she said alongside a selfie. 'And if you have been the one left hurt or abandoned then let's be honest, it's just life-shattering. And as you get older, it only gets tougher with more scars, pain and hurt. 'My 19-year relationship ended 4 years ago and while we will always care for each other especially because we were together since we were 20, that chapter is over.' Jelena went on to say that she was 'built' to love one person 'unconditionally and so fully that it gets me in trouble'. The Australian tennis commentator said she now has 'a lot of abandonment issues' from her past, which make her 'feel like I will be alone forever'. The former tennis star is riding high after winning her first-ever Logie on Sunday night in the Best Factual or Documentary Program category for her documentary special Unbreakable: The Jelena Dokic Story. Jelena admitted she was in complete shock over the win, confessing she hadn't prepared a speech and had planned to simply 'wing it' if her name was called.

Stacey Solomon looks loved-up with husband Joe Swash as they pose for stunning beach sunset snaps after defending £1K-a-night Turkey holiday

Stacey Solomon looked more loved-up than ever with husband Joe Swash as they shared sweet Instagram photos on Monday from their lavish Turkey holiday. The TV presenter, 35, and her husband Joe, 43, and their brood have just returned from a sun-soaked break to the five-star Regnum The Crown in Antalya where rooms start from around £1,000 per person per night. During their luxurious break, Stacey kept her fans updated with a plethora of fun snaps, featuring a carousel of stunning family photos featuring her five children Zachary, 17, Leighton, 12, Rex, five, Rose, three, and Belle, two. And one evening the couple dressed to impress as they enjoyed a picturesque sunset beach photoshoot with their children. Joe sweetly kissed Stacey's cheek as she leaned into her husband while walking along the shoreline. She looked stunning in a strapless blue satin minidress which boasted a plunging neckline and pretty black bow. Joe coordinated with their children in a pair of white linen trousers which he teamed with a black V-neck T-shirt. It comes as Stacey hit back at fans accusing her of being 'smug' and blagging the Turkey holiday as a 'freebie'. Taking to her Instagram stories, Stacey defended her costly getaway, writing: 'This is the third time I've come back here. This wasn't a free holiday. 'I just love this place so much and think it deserves the BEST reviews and tags ever because it's just incredible.' In a further post, she attempted to justify the price, remarking: 'Our happy place @regnumthecrown. This is our third year coming back here which says a lot. 'I have NEVER been someone who goes back to the same place every year but it's perfect for all our children and their different ages. 'Nothing compares. It is very expensive. I do think it is worth every penny and more for what it has to offer. If I knew about this place earlier I would have had our honeymoon here and special holidays here because it's just insane.' While much of the feedback from her trip had been positive, she was met with a handful of naysayers who seemingly took offence at her luxury trip. Comments on a selection of snaps during the course of her trip included: 'Did you pay for your holiday this time?' 'So another well subsidized holiday for the entire family. It makes me throw up.' 'hotel is 4 k each ,no airs n graces really tho ...' 'You planned that well meeting up with @mollymae .Was it a freebie holiday as it's massively expensive.' 'The seriously smug family.' However, plenty of Stacey's loyal fans were quick to leap to her defence as they told how she works hard and deserves her holiday. They penned: 'Imagine getting so triggered because her holiday was super expensive. She'll never win, if she went on a budget holiday something would be said. If you could afford a luxury holiday you'd do the exact same because I know I would.' 'Stacey never stops and has worked hard to get to where she is, so I think a holiday is well deserved. I for one happy for her and lovely to see such a happy family.' 'Just costed this up as I'm a Travel Agent and whilst it is spenny. We book families who aren't famous to more expensive places than this. It's what I would expect from a celebrity but there are certainly more expensive places out there for families in Europe. A lovely five star in Turkey, Stacey has done a great job and deserves a lovely place but I wouldn't say she's bragging as she could have defo gone crazier for sure.' While much of the feedback from her trip had been positive, she was met with a handful of naysayers who seemingly took offence at her luxury trip It comes after Stacey revealed she's struck up a sweet friendship with Molly-Mae Hague after their pair met at dinner during their respective holidays to Turkey. Both the Sort Your Life Out host and the Love Island star, 26, were holidaying separately with their families at the five star Regnum The Crown in Belek this month. And Stacey took to Instagram on Sunday to gush over her newfound friendship with the star, before issuing an invitation to Molly-Mae, partner Tommy Fury, 26, and daughter Bambi, two, to visit her Pickle Cottage home. Sharing a beaming snap of herself and Molly-Mae with their arms wrapped around each other, Stacey penned: 'Got to spend the first part of our holiday with @MollyMae, @TommyFury and Bambi. Bumped into them at dinner one night and fell in love. 'Genuinely the nicest, most down to earth family. And Bambi omg I can't. Just the most kind hearted little one. Rose was gutted when she left! 'Can't wait for them to come to pickle cottage.' Stacey also uploaded a snap of her son Leighton, 12, posing with Tommy and a pal as she told how her boys were 'buzzing' to meet the boxer. While Molly-Mae is yet to share her own tribute to her new pal, she did re-share Stacey's post, adding love heart and teary eye emojis. However, plenty of Stacey's loyal fans were quick to leap to her defence as they told how she works hard and deserves her holiday. It comes after Stacey revealed she's struck up a sweet friendship with Molly-Mae Hague after their pair met at dinner during their respective holidays to Turkey Stacey's post comes after she and husband Joe let loose at the wild adults pool party as they enjoyed a child-free afternoon on their family holiday. The TV personality looked nothing short of sensational as she showed off her figure in a cream bikini. Meanwhile, Joe went shirtless and wore black trunks while dancing with other attendees at the party. The pair couldn't stop laughing as they jumped on a large pink inflatable flamingo, before putting on a loved-up display in the pool.
