Beyoncé is now halfway to EGOT with her first Emmy win
LOS ANGELES — Beyoncé has an Emmy to go with her 35 Grammys. Beyoncé Knowles-Carter, her legal name, was listed as one of a half dozen people on a team that won outstanding costumes for a variety, nonfiction or reality show for 'Beyoncé Bowl,' her Western-themed halftime show on Netflix's Christmas NFL game between the Baltimore Ravens and Houston Texans. The show in her hometown of Houston brought the live debut of songs from her 'Cowboy Carter' album. The special Emmy is Beyoncé's first. She has been nominated for 10 others without a victory. And it takes her halfway to an EGOT with her 35 Grammys. She still needs a Tony and an Oscar to complete the quartet. The award was among a handful of so-called juried Emmys announced Tuesday that are determined outside the regular voting process and given out by committees, with no official nominees. They are usually highly technical — several involve individual elements of the animation process — and rarely go to famous names. They are announced in advance and handed out at the Creative Arts Emmy Awards ceremony next month. Beyoncé is also nominated for best variety special as a producer of 'Beyoncé Bowl' and for best direction of a variety special. Her husband, Jay-Z, is competing against her as an executive producer of Kendrick Lamar's Super Bowl halftime show.

Thanos Actor Josh Brolin on 'Avengers' Return if Asked: I'd 'Be There Tomorrow'
Who's up for the return of Thanos? Josh Brolin certainly is. After playing the character in Guardians of the Galaxy and the recent Avengers movies, including the 2018 film Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame (2019), it marked the end of Thanos' run as the central antagonist. While it's unlikely, we've certainly seen stranger things happen than Thanos finding his way back for another go-round. If that were to pan out, Brolin left no doubt that he'd be there. Thanos Actor Josh Brolin Candid Comments on Whether He'd Want to Return Oftentimes, when actors are asked about reprising a popular role they played, the responses can be along the lines of, "Sure, I'd be open to it." For Brolin, though, he seems to have loved playing Thanos as much as fans appreciated him in the role. Brolin joined Josh Horowitz on the Happy Sad Confused podcast and when the topic came up, he said candidly that if he got the call for Avengers: Doomsday or Secret Wars, he'd "be there tomorrow." "That was one movie and I've said Thanos thing, if they called me in London right now and said let's do this, I'd be like, 'I'll be there tomorrow,'" Brolin stated. Horowitz stated that although Thanos ended on such a great note, Brolin seems to have confidence in the Russo brothers, Anthony and Joe, to hypothetically come up with something that makes sense if he were to ever return. "Of course they're going to come up with something really fun, I mean who knows?" Brolin replied. "...I don't know what they're going to do, but I'm sure it'll be interesting. I think they do that very, very, very well. Although Brolin doesn't sound as though he expects to get the call about bringing Thanos back, he certainly made it known that if the opportunity presented itself, he'd happily return. Josh Brolin on Talking to Robert Downey Jr. And the Russo Brothers Amid the discussion about Thanos, Horowitz asked whether Brolin stays in touch with Robert Downey Jr. and the Russo brothers, who are directing Avengers: Doomsday. "[I] talk to Downey probably 4-6 times a year, I talk to the Russos probably 4-6 times a week," Brolin said. "I mean, I talk to Joe a lot...I love them, I love both of them, I think they're amazing." It's hard not to appreciate Brolin's love of his character in the Marvel universe, and fortunately, he's remained plenty busy since Avengers: Endgame. Most recently, Brolin starred alongside Julia Garner in Weapons, which is now officially in theaters. The Zach Cregger-directed film continues to earn rave reviews after beginning with a stellar stretch of perfect critic reviews through the first 30-35 on Rotten Tomatoes. Currently, Weapons boasts a "certified fresh" label and a 97 percent critics' score based on 156 reviews. The early fan response has also been impressive, checking in at 90 percent with 250-plus Actor Josh Brolin on 'Avengers' Return if Asked: I'd 'Be There Tomorrow' first appeared on Men's Journal on Aug 8, 2025 Solve the daily Crossword
