Josh Heupel excited to have former OU football teammate Seth Littrell on Tennessee's staff
But Tennessee coach Josh Heupel — who won a national championship with Littrell as a player with the Sooners in 2000 — is betting Littrell will have an impact as a senior offensive analyst with the Volunteers.

'For Seth, somebody that I've played with and got great trust in. … His experience as a head coach is another tool that he brings to us. He's had elite offenses with great players, done it at an extremely high level,' Heupel said Tuesday at SEC media days at the College Football Hall of Fame. 'His knowledge, expertise, his understanding of some of the things that we do offensively. …
'Seth has been great for us since he got there in February and expect him to be a big part of what we're doing.'.

Littrell, a Muskogee native who played for the Sooners from 1997-2000, was an offensive analyst on Brent Venables' OU staff in 2023 before being elevated to offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach last season.

But the Sooners' offense was a disaster last season, putting up their lowest total yardage and rushing yards since 1998 while allowing a program-worst 50 sacks.
Littrell was fired in late October, the day after OU's 35-9 loss to South Carolina. He was replaced by Joe Jon Finley for the rest of the season and Venables ultimately hired Ben Arbuckle of Washington State to take over the offense.
Littrell was hired to join Heupel's staff in late February.

PHILADELPHIA — Baltimore right-hander Grayson Rodriguez will have season-ending surgery on his pitching elbow next week. Orioles interim manager Tony Mansolino made the announcement before Monday's game in Philadelphia. Rodriguez started the season on the injured list due to right elbow inflammation that flared up in spring training. A rehab outing scheduled for April 17 was canceled because of a strained lat muscle. He finished last season on the IL with a strained lat.

BOSTON (AP) — Jarren Duran hit a three-run homer and Brayan Bello pitched six effective innings, helping the Boston Red Sox beat the Kansas City Royals 8-5 on Monday night for their sixth consecutive victory. Rob Refsnyder drove in two runs, and Duran added a leaping, run-saving catch in front of the Green Monster in the fourth. Bello (8-5) allowed an unearned run and six hits. The right-hander has surrendered three earned runs or fewer in 13 of his last 14 outings. Boston rookie Roman Anthony was scratched from his scheduled start in right field due to mid-back tightness. He was replaced by Wilyer Abreu. Nick Loftin attempted to score from second, but Abreu's throw from right beat him and Loftin was tagged out in a collision with catcher Connor Wong. We don't know what Giannis is going to do, but just like that Clash song from the 80s sings, if Giannis goes, there will be trouble in Milwaukee.
