While some users were simply confused, others didn't hold back from calling the whole thing a scam.
Sky-high prices for simple clothes?
The main issue most people had was with the pricing. On the website, even the cheapest dress is around Rs 7,000. A kurta set, which many thought looked quite ordinary, is priced at Rs 26,500. In fact, most of the outfits on the site range from Rs 8,000 to Rs 12,000 – and they don't seem to be anything special.
Netizens took to Reddit to express their frustration.
Screenshots from the site show an asymmetrical dress listed at Rs 10,900 and a maxi dress for Rs 10,700. Some of the mini dresses, jumpsuits and rompers also cost between Rs 9,000 to Rs 12,000.
For most users, this pricing made no sense. They felt the clothes looked like fast fashion and didn't have the kind of design, material or creativity to justify the high price tags.
'Is it money laundering of some sort?'
Social media was flooded with jokes, memes and
comments.
One user on Reddit wrote, "The ridiculous price points of Nupur Sanon's clothing line called Label Nobo. Doesn't explain why such basic cloths are sold and such high price points. Is it money laundering of some sort (scamming buyers)? (sic)."
Another user didn't hold back either and said, "These are the ugliest clothes I've ever seen, good lord (sic)."
Someone else made fun of the brand's name and wrote, "I think her brand name is incomplete cause she clearly forgot to write Label NoboDY IS BUYING THIS OVERPRICED FAST FASHION SHIT FROM ME (sic)."
