Pep Guardiola says Manchester City will ‘have to suffer' against Juventus
Pep Guardiola says that Manchester City 'will have to suffer' against Juventus in the heat at Orlando's Camping World Stadium, with the conditions disrupting the team's rhythm and affecting who he selects.
If City beat Juve they will top Group G and avoid the winners of Group H, from which two of Real Madrid, Red Bull Salzburg and Al-Hilal will progress. Temperatures for the game may be above 30 degrees and Guardiola was asked about the conditions.
The manager said: 'The heat is obvious. We cannot change it, right? So it's better to play like in the last stadium [which was indoors and air-conditioned] we played, it was fantastic. I'm making the selection tomorrow [Thursday] thinking about the second half because in these conditions we can't play at our rhythm.
'But all the teams have to handle it, so it is what it is. For the next World Cup [in the US], people will know [about] it already, but we have to be ready to suffer. My advice to people is to bring water, hats and towels.'
Guardiola also criticised Fifa for banning Rico Lewis for three matches for being sent off in the 2-0 opening group game. 'If Fifa wants to show how serious they are – OK. Accept the three games,' he said.
Claudio Echeverri may miss the rest of the tournament due to the ankle injury he suffered in the 6-0 win over Al Ain. Guardiola said: 'He will be two to three weeks out. We feel so sorry for him, all of us. We'll play new players and then new players in the next game too.'
On Tuesday the 54-year-old Guardiola enjoyed some beach football with his players near City's hotel in Boca Raton. He stressed the need to relax during time off at the tournament.
'The end of the season was so demanding emotionally,' said Guardiola. 'It wasn't the best for consistency and results. I decided we'd do good training but let the players relax for the rest of the day.
'If they want to play golf, go to the pool, on a day off be with their families [fine] – otherwise it would be so difficult mentally. It's to keep it fresh in the training sessions, not expending energy before the games because it would be so tough. We didn't lose physical condition after the season.
'Some went to their national teams and didn't have days off. It's maintaining [fitness] and relaxing. We have 11 months ahead of us. I decided for them to do whatever they want.'

Rodri is not yet ready to play a full game after his comeback from a season-long injury. 'Not for 90 minutes but he played the last [two] games 30 minutes or 35 minutes,' said Guardiola. 'He's making steps forward. In the last three or four days he didn't have some niggles that sometimes he has [what can be normal after a long layoff].'
Rodri himself said it would be 'months' before he was back to his best. 'I know it's still going to be months until I reach my level, but I'm so happy,' he said. 'I feel very, very strong, to be honest. The process was long, but I was taking my time. The most important thing was to keep focused and be strong. Not be sad or whatever. One day I'll come back and this day has finally come and I'm very excited to play again.'
He has previously criticised the packed schedule for players. 'Well, now it is a massive opportunity for me to come back,' he said. 'Maybe if this tournament doesn't happen, I will be on holiday. But for me, individually, it's a great opportunity to come back at the highest level and play a tournament we have never played. The idea is amazing, honestly. I think we're excited. You can see the difference between the clubs from all around the world. It's good and interesting for the people.'
Goalkeeper Ederson has entered the final season of his contract. The manager was asked if this might be the No 1's final year at City. 'I don't know. I'm so pleased and delighted with what I'm seeing in training and that he is still with us. We cannot define this spectacular decade without him,' said Guardiola.

Jake Paul vs Julio César Chávez Jr: Tips, odds, and betting predictions
SEVEN months after his controversial fight with Mike Tyson, Jake Paul is lacing up his gloves once again. The Problem Child will come face-to-face with former WBC middleweight champion Julio César Chávez Jr in Anaheim, California, in what will be one of the toughest tests of his career to date. Join us as we take a look at the fight and select the best bets to place on Jake Paul vs Chávez Jr this weekend. 🥊 Jake Paul vs Julio César Chávez Jr odds Despite Chávez's experience, it is clear the former champion is past his best, and this is reflected in the odds, with SBK pricing Jake Paul as the clear favourite. Jake Paul vs Julio César Chávez Jr fight outcome odds The method of victory markets provide punters with more flexibility, offering excellent odds on César Chávez winning by point and by decision with Betfred. Is Jake Paul getting KO'd? There is no denying that Jake Paul has improved in the ring since his first fight in 2020, even winning over some boxing fans thanks to his wins against boxers like Andre August and Ryan Bourland. However, many still believe he is avoiding difficult fights, and that while Chavez is undoubtedly a step up from his previous opponents, he has not been at his best for a long time. You can expect a strong display from Paul at the weekend. His publicity-stunt fight against Mike Tyson in November last year backfired on him somewhat, with many calling The Problem Child out for essentially beating up an old man. Paul will look to regain some of the respect he lost there with a confident performance in California. Stats: Is Chavez Jr going to be a problem for 'The Problem Child?' Julio Chavez Jr is undoubtedly going to be the biggest test of Jake Paul's career. At one point, Chavez Jr was earmarked to be one of the brightest stars in boxing. The wheels come off a little in the second half of his career, though. After losing to Sergio Martinez in 2012, the former WBC middleweight champion has lost six out of 14 fights and has only fought once since 2021. Notably, Chavez Jr came up short in a crossover bout with UFC legend Anderson Silva in June 2021. Paul and Silva met a little over 12 months later, with Paul coming out on top by unanimous decision. Chavez is far from his best, and these kinds of results highlight that. Stats: 👉 Paul vs Chavez Jr betting tips With the outright markets not offering much value on Saturday night, I have picked the following three bets as the best to place on Jake Paul vs Julio César Chávez Jr on Saturday night. Jake Paul KO/TKO/DQ Jake Paul is the heavy favourite for Saturday's fight, coming in at 2/11 with SBK. This might surprise some people, but it is not really a surprise when you look at Chavez's record over the last decade. The former champ's best days are behind him, and he is getting an easy paycheck here. Paul will want to display his power here and will see a stoppage victory on Saturday as a serious statement of his boxing credentials. Whether the boxing world does, though, is another matter. Fight not to go the distance Three of Jake Paul's last four fights have not gone the distance, with The Problem Child scoring stoppage victories over Mike Perry, Ryan Bourland, and Andre August. Chavez is undoubtedly a step-up from these, but Paul's size and raw power are going to prove too much for the Mexican star. ➡️ Back the fight not to go the distance at 5/4 with Betfred Julio César Chávez Jr by points If you are considering backing Chavez to have his hand raised at the end of the night, then backing him to win by decision at 12/1 with Betfred offers excellent value. Chavez has only secured two stoppage victories in his last 14 fights, and as he approaches 40, there will be questions about whether he has the power to take out a younger fighter like Paul. However, he certainly possesses the ring IQ and skill to outbox him, and if he comes into Saturday's fight looking for redemption, a boxing masterclass against the sport's most controversial star would certainly be a big step in the right direction. ➡️ Bet on Chávez Jr to win by decision at 12/1 with Betfred 📺 How to watch Jake Paul vs Julio César Chávez Jr Location: Honda Centre, Anaheim, California Date and time: 28th June local, 29th June UK - Ring walks expected 4 am UK How to watch: DAZN PPV, £24.99 in the UK Jake Paul vs Julio César Chávez Jr undercard The most interesting fight on this weekend's undercard pits Gilberto Ramirez against Yuniel Dorticos. Ramirez will put his WBO cruiserweight title on the line following his victory over Chris Billam-Smith in Riyadh last year. Ramirez is looking to score a first stoppage victory in four years, and is heavy favourite for the match, with BetVictor pricing him at 1/9 and his opponent at 11/2. Holly Holm's long-awaited return to the ring will also take place in California this weekend. Holm will lace up her boxing gloves for the first time in 12 years when she takes on Yolanda Vega. While Holm has not had a professional bout since 2013, she has been one of the most dominant forces in the UFC over the last decade and will look to prove she still has it with a strong performance against Vega. RB Salzburg vs Real Madrid predictions, odds and betting tips
RED Bull Salzburg and Real Madrid go head-to-head in a pivotal Group H clash at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, with both sides eyeing a place in the last 16 of the FIFA Club World Cup. Tied on four points apiece, it's all to play for, though Real Madrid hold a narrow edge at the top thanks to a superior goal difference of just one. 🔥 RB Salzburg vs Real Madrid betting tips Waiting for the match to start? 📺 Keep up the live action with bet365 live casino! 👇 RB Salzburg vs Real Madrid odds Find the latest football betting odds for RB Salzburg vs Real Madrid here. Our odds are provided by our recommended football betting sites and are subject to change. RB Salzburg vs Real Madrid predictions As the FIFA Club World Cup group stage nears its conclusion, Group H remains delicately balanced ahead of a decisive clash between Red Bull Salzburg and Real Madrid in Philadelphia. Salzburg began their campaign in impressive fashion, securing a 2-1 win over Pachuca in their opening fixture. Goals from the highly-rated Oscar Gloukh and Karim Onisiwo were enough to earn the Austrian side all three points against the Mexican outfit. They followed that up with a goalless draw against Al-Hilal in a tightly contested second match. The Saudi side edged possession with 58% and registered 19 shots to Salzburg's 13, but it was the Austrians who proved more efficient in front of goal, recording six efforts on target compared to Al-Hilal's four. Real Madrid, now under the leadership of new head coach Xabi Alonso, have had a mixed start to their campaign. Los Blancos were held to a 1-1 draw by Al-Hilal in Alonso's managerial debut, Gonzalo García scored the Madrid goal. Despite an almost even share of possession (52%-48% in Madrid's favour), the Spaniards posed the greater attacking threat, racking up 19 shots to Al-Hilal's 13 - yet ultimately failed to find the winner. In their second outing, Madrid suffered an early blow when Raúl Asencio was shown a red card just seven minutes into their match against Pachuca. However, playing with 10 men didn't faze them, as goals from Jude Bellingham, Arda Güler, and Federico Valverde secured a commanding 3-1 win. Heading into the final round, three teams remain in contention to qualify. Whoever wins between Salzburg and Madrid will top the group - but the loser risks elimination if Al-Hilal defeats Pachuca in the concurrent fixture. Real Madrid remain heavy favourites to progress, priced at 1/100 to reach the Round of 16 and 1/8 to win the group. Behind them, Al-Hilal are 17/2 to top the group, with Salzburg outsiders at 8/1. To qualify, Al-Hilal are 8/15, while Salzburg are 6/5. RB Salzburg vs Real Madrid betting tips The winners of this match will go on to face the runners-up from Group G, which will be either Juventus or Manchester City. By the time kick-off arrives, both teams will be aware of that outcome. But with elimination for the loser a real possibility, neither Salzburg or Madrid can look too far ahead and take any chances. Our match tips follow: Real Madrid to win and BTTS (yes) Real Madrid have conceded in both of their matches at the Club World Cup and have looked far from assured defensively under Xabi Alonso. Madrid have two new defenders in their starting XI and the team is probably also trying to adapt to Alonso's tactical tweaks, and this makes them vulnerable. Salzburg managed two goals against Pachuca and have registered ten or more attempts on goal in both their matches at the competition. Back the Austrians to get on the scoresheet again, but ultimately, we believe Madrid will win. Federico Valverde to score or assist Federico Valverde has played the full 180 minutes at the Club World Cup. Under head coach Xabi Alonso, the Uruguayan seems to be playing in a more advanced role. So far, Alonso's approach seems to be paying off. Valverde scored in the 3-1 win over Pachuca in Madrid's second match, and had he converted his stoppage time penalty against Al-Hilal in their opening match, would have two from two. Valverde is priced at an appealing 39/20 to score or assist against Salzburg. In a match Madrid are expected to control, it looks a strong value bet. Oscar Gloukh to score anytime Oscar Gloukh is widely regarded as one of the brightest young talents in European football. The 21-year-old has been linked with high-profile moves to top-tier clubs, and his team's clash with Real Madrid offers the perfect stage to showcase his ability. Gloukh has already opened his account at the Club World Cup, scoring in Salzburg's opener against Pachuca. He's an eye-catching 7/2 to add to his tally against Madrid - a tempting price for a player eager to impress. 📺 How to watch RB Salzburg vs Real Madrid Location: Lincoln Financial Field, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
