Wamiqa Gabbi celebrated Bhool Chuk Maaf's success with a special screening in her hometown in Chandigarh for family and friends. She expressed gratitude on social media.
Wamiqa Gabbi has been basking in the success of her recently-released film, Bhool Chuk Maaf, alongside Rajkummar Rao. Her portrayal of Titli has resonated with her loyal fan base. Despite the widespread acclaim, the moment that meant the most to her was sharing the film with her roots, the people who had been her biggest supporters from the beginning. Hence, she organised a special screening of her film in Chandigarh for her close family, childhood friends, and celebs from the Punjabi film industry.
Wamiqa took to social media to express her heartfelt gratitude. Sharing a video from the film's screening, she wrote, 'A small town girl with her big family, with bigger dreams, and the biggest support of her family and her town. My heart is full—actually, it's overflowing. I'm beyond overwhelmed with the love of my family, friends, and my Punjabi fraternity friends. And Oh! The Love! The Love! The Love! The Love! Don't wake me up from this dream please. Thank you GOD." Watch the video here:
The evening was filled with hugs, laughter, joyful tears, and immense pride. Seeing the film through the eyes of those who've seen her grow made it even more special for Wamiqa.
For the unversed, Wamiqa was one of the background dancers in Thoda Thoda Pyar song from Imtiaz's Love Aaj Kal in 2009, which starred Giselli Monteiro as Harleen Kaur. She now appears as the female lead in the Chor Bazari Phir Se track in Bhool Chuk Maaf and feels that life has finally come to full circle with the remix now.
Talking exclusively to News18 Showsha, Wamiqa said, 'Pata nahi kaisi feeling hai yeh (I don't know what kind of feeling is this). I didn't know I would feel like this. But this is something that I've been feeling, and it's overwhelming. Never thought this would happen. Sometimes people say manifest, but meine kabhi manifest sochke manifest nahi kiya. I was always thinking about things like these. And it's happening. It's coming true now. A film with Maddock, with Rajkumar Rao and Karan (Sharma) directing it with such a stellar cast, it's like a dream and now it's coming true."
'I think I realise when my friends are talking about it, when they are sending these long messages and my parents, my father commenting, that's when I'm realising, 'wow, this is a very big deal. Is this true?'" she said.
Bhool Chuk Maaf released on May 23, after few delays.

Matchmaker Sima Taparia turned me down because of my religion, says TV actor Nausheen Ali Sardar
Television actor and model Nausheen Ali Sardar recently shared a surprising anecdote about Indian Matchmaking-fame matchmaker, Sima Taparia. Appearing on Siddharth Kannan's YouTube show, Nausheen revealed that when she sought assistance in finding a life partner during the COVID-19 period, Sima turned her down due to her religious background. Nausheen Ali Sardar highlighted the absurdity of Sima Taparia's traditional views on women and expressed frustration over being judged based on religion despite her diverse upbringing. Nausheen describes her interaction with Sima Taparia 'My sister approached her because the show was such a hit. But when I told her I was open to marrying someone from a Catholic, Sikh, or Punjabi background, Sima said, 'No, we can't find you someone because you're Muslim.' I couldn't help laughing at how absurd it was," Nausheen said. Nausheen further criticised Sima's traditional stance on how women should behave, noting that on Indian Matchmaking, Sima often advised women to 'stay quiet' and 'keep their eyes down.' She said it felt 'outdated', adding that it was ironic that the same person with such views also refused to help her because of her religion. With her diverse cultural upbringing, being raised by an Iranian mother and Punjabi father and schooled in a Catholic environment, Nausheen expressed frustration over the matchmaker's narrow approach. 'What exactly is the right match for me?' she wondered, highlighting how her multifaceted identity didn't fit neatly into conventional categories. Nausheen's career Nausheen Ali Sardar rose to fame with the title role in the popular early 2000s TV show Kkusum on Sony Entertainment Television, which made her a household name. She became a prominent face on Indian television. Over the years, she appeared in shows like Beend Banoongaa Ghodi Chadhunga, The Adventures of Hatim, and Alif Laila. Nausheen also ventured into films such as Three: Love, Lies and Betrayal and Do Dilon Ke Khel Mein. She participated in reality shows, including Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi and Zor Ka Jhatka: Total Wipeout.

Geeta Basra Said Yes To Marrying Harbhajan Singh After A Cricket Condition
In the world of cricket and cinema, love stories often carry an extra spark and one such tale belongs to Harbhajan Singh and Geeta Basra. The former Indian cricketer and the Bollywood actress, who tied the knot in 2015, continue to remain one of the most admired celebrity couples. Today, they are doting parents to two children, but their journey to marriage was not as simple as it might appear. Geeta recently opened up in a podcast with Bharti Singh about the hurdles, hesitation, and a rather unique condition she placed before saying "yes" to Harbhajan. Harbhajan's First Move And Geeta's Hesitation Recalling the early days of their love story, Geeta revealed that it was Harbhajan who was instantly smitten after seeing one of her posts. He even reached out to his teammate and close friend Yuvraj Singh to get her number. While Harbhajan wasted no time in messaging her, Geeta didn't respond initially as she had little knowledge or interest in cricket. "Harbhajan had asked for my number from his fellow-cricketer Yuvraj Singh, as he had a lot of friends. After this, Harbhajan messaged me. But I didn't respond to his message as I had no idea or interest in cricket or cricketers. They had just won the world cup back then..," she said. Eventually, she replied to congratulate him on India's World Cup victory, and their conversations slowly began. But when they finally met, Harbhajan made his intentions clear and revealed that he wasn't looking to be "just friends". For Geeta, however, things were not so straightforward. The actress feared that her career might take a hit if she got linked to a cricketer. She had already lost a few film offers due to rumours of her wedding, and this made her even more cautious about moving ahead with the relationship. The Unique Condition That Changed Everything Despite her fears, fate had something else in store. About ten months later, Geeta agreed to marry Harbhajan, but only on one condition. She told him that the day he achieved 300 wickets, she would say "yes." As luck would have it, the milestone came sooner than expected, and once Harbhajan bagged his 300th wicket, Geeta kept her promise. Soon after, wedding preparations began, and in 2015 the couple celebrated their grand wedding. The Secret Behind Their Lasting Bond Looking back, Geeta shared what she admires most about her husband and said, "He was a true Punjabi at heart, just like me." Despite being a cricketing star, Harbhajan never carried the weight of stardom in his attitude. Instead, his simplicity and Punjabi roots made her feel at home. What also reassured her was his loyalty, something she initially worried about due to the cultural differences and media reports of high-profile affairs in the sports world. Today, Geeta and Harbhajan's marriage stands as a testimony to trust, respect, and a love story that began with a wicket-taking milestone.
