Emmerdale' star teases John's 'downfall' - and Robert could be in danger
Emmerdale's Ryan Hawley believes his character Robert Sugden could face danger at the hands of his killer brother John Sugden as he vows to expose him, teasing his downfall
Robert Sugden could face danger on Emmerdale if his killer brother John Sugden turns on him, amid their rivalry over Aaron Dingle.
The character makes his permanent return to the ITV soap next week, and now actor Ryan Hawley has teased what could lead to John's downfall. Ryan also hinted that his character wouldn't stop until he exposed John and got Aaron back.
But this could leave Robert in serious danger, with him issued a warning next week that "he doesn't know who he's messing with". John makes it clear to Robert that he's capable of more than he knows, which sparks alarm bells for his brother.
Amid Robert's plan to win back Aaron despite Aaron marrying John, Robert will set out to expose John for once and for all. But will he uncover the truth about his killer ways and could he regret pushing him?
It seems Robert might not be safe, while Ryan is hopeful his character will be the one to bring John down. Ryan spilled: "I think Robert would want to expose John to Aaron and to everyone.
"He loves his family, maybe he wouldn't admit it but he loves the village and the community, he'd want to protect that, and going forward I think he does try to reveal John for who he is." But is this likely to cause him harm?
Ryan teased: "Who knows... there's lots of motive for John to get rid of Robert. He is a huge inconvenience and an obstacle in relation to Aaron. As much as he hates him he is still family, but what does that say about John and his morales and who he is?
"Would he go as far as to kill his own family? We will have to wait and see." Ryan's desperate for Robert to be the hero though, with Robert keen to win back Aaron too.
The actor explained: "I would like Robert to be the one to expose him for who he is, cos everyone hates Robert at the moment. The audience know Robert is trying to do the right thing by stopping Aaron being with this person and he's not the right person for Aaron.
"I would want him to. But maybe that's not to be. We'll wait and see." He went on of Robert's dislike for his brother: "I'm not even sure he's 100 percent sure he's his brother is he? He said he's an imposter. It's quite complicated but there's a lot more to explore as the story goes on."
For now it seems Robert fears he's lost Aaron for good, but a prison visit leaves him hopeful. Then John pays him a visit and it's clear things are tense. Ryan spills: "John comes to visit Robert and they address the issues of their relationship.
"John comes to speak to Robert and they have it out to some extent and perhaps the setting of the prison means a lot of their feelings towards each other have to be restrained. So it is quite tense scenes which end with Robert vowing to come back to the village and expose John for the man he believes him to be."

The Chase star Mark Labbett 'fell asleep' during Celebs Go Dating date
Mark Labbett, best known to The Chase fans as quizmaster "The Beast", was reportedly spotted committing the faux pas during a date with a mystery woman while filming Celebs Go Dating "The Beast" from The Chase, real name Mark Labbett, found himself in an amusing pickle on Celebs Go Dating after reportedly dozing off during a date. Labbett, 58, well-known for his sharp intellect and straight-talking on the hit ITV quiz show, seemingly succumbed to sleepiness while the cameras captured the moment mid-date. The latest series of Celebs Go Dating, which was filmed last month, saw an insider reveal that there wasn't much spark between the quizzing legend and his suitor. An anonymous tipster dished: "Mark was yawning a lot and drifted off briefly. It was a bit of an awkward moment. It's safe to say there wasn't much of a spark between them." Previously weighing as much as 29 stone, Mark Labbett tied the knot with second cousin Katie in 2014 but called it quits after six years. He then dated TV host Hayley Palmer in 2023; however, the couple split after just one year together, reports the Express. Discussing his break up with Hayley, 43, Labbett confided in The Sun: "She's a lovely lady and I was very lucky to date her for a year, and as I said: it's me, I got old." He continued: "There's been no one since Hayley. I'm not saying there won't be another one. But I'm certainly not looking." Delving into his love life, Labbett reminisced: "I was single, not coincidentally, for a long, long time when I was a 29st maths teacher who knew it was quite hard to attract a partner then. So I'm quite comfortable without a partner." Mark's representative quipped a witty retort when questioned about the drowsy date: "If his date was as boring as you have suggested, I'm surprised he didn't take a pillow with him!". Celebs Go Dating chose to remain tight-lipped regarding the incident.

Heartbreaking Corrie scenes as Debbie confirms dementia diagnosis to loved ones
Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney) has been keeping a huge secret from (most of) her family recently in Coronation Street, after she was diagnosed with dementia. Proud, independent Debbie felt like she didn't want to burden her brother Kevin (Michael Le Vell) with the news, as he's already going through a tough time with cancer treatment. As for her relationship with Ronnie Bailey (Vinta Morgan), Debbie opted to dump him rather than tell him the truth. Debbie's split with Ronnie hasn't been easy for either of them, as they both love each other and had previously decided to get married. Ronnie has been left hurt and confused, while Debbie thinks he's already moved on as she's spotted him a few times in the company of Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson). So far the only person who knows about Debbie's diagnosis is her other brother, Carl (Jonathan Howard) – and he only found out by accident and has been sworn to secrecy by Debbie. But all that is about to change in an episode airing soon, where Debbie takes a sudden turn for the worse and is forced to open up to her family about what's really going on. Debbie and Bernie (Jane Hazlegrove) go to the Chariot Square bar for a few drinks to cheer Debbie up after she admits to Bernie that she's finding it hard to be in the same room as Ronnie. Also in the bar is Brody Michaelis (Ryan Mulvey), and when he causes a fuss by failing to produce ID when asked, Debbie loses it with him. We've seen Debbie becoming irrationally angry before and it's a symptom of her condition, and this time she really loses control and smashes Brody's glass on the bar. The next day Bernie is worried about Debbie because of her behaviour at the bar but also because she forgets to pay at the cafe. She's under pressure because there's been a flood at the hotel and she's facing having to cancel an awards ceremony, but Leanne offers to host the event at Speed Daal.
