Plan to build five-bed houses close to Barrhead town centre
This land is at the rear of Montfort Gate/Montfort Park and opposite Cowan Park.
Ramzan Properties hope to construct five detached four or five-bedroom villas that will sit slightly back from Dubbs Road.
The application also outlines proposals for associated access roads, the upgrade of an existing access road and the formation of a passing place.

Vehicle access to the development would be via Dubbs Road to the south of the site with two shared off-road driveways.
It is planned that private driveways will be located to the front of each house offering three spaces each.
The applicant's supporting statement said the development will 'promote town centre living' by providing detached family homes minutes away from essential local amenities, education centres and urban greenspace.
They also said the development will 'help meet the local housing needs through dwellings that promote healthy lifestyle and wellbeing' and improve on the wider qualities and character of the area.'
'The preservation of trees and the introduction of new trees on site will support homes built in an attractive natural space and assist the surrounding biodiversity of the area,' they added.
The application, which is currently awaiting decision, was received by the council in May and validated last week.

MSP hits out at plans for new solar wind farm in Eaglesham
An application for the project at Bonnyton Golf Club has been lodged with East Renfrewshire Council. Contractors Advance Grid Solutions has proposed the installation of 41,000 Solar Photovoltaics, aiming for an anticipated export capacity of up to 28 megawatts (MW). Jackson Carlaw, MSP for Eastwood, has voiced strong opposition to the planned development, arguing that it would significantly erode greenbelt land in Eaglesham. The bid follows East Renfrewshire Council's decision in April to grant planning permission for a 40MW battery energy storage facility located just over two miles from the golf club on the east side of Glasgow Road. Carlaw said: 'There is a serious risk that large swathes of greenbelt land in Eaglesham could now be lost to development. 'The solar farm proposal suggests that the unacceptable decision of Labour and Independent councillors to grant planning permission for the battery plant may lead to a stream of applications for energy infrastructure projects on our local greenfield sites. 'There is no evidence in the planning support statement that the applicant has fulfilled a key requirement of Scotland's National Planning Framework 4 to identify and explore if the development can be on land that is not part of the greenbelt.' Carlaw said that while planning powers are devolved to Scotland, the position of the previous UK Conservative Government was that brownfield areas should be prioritised for solar development. He added: 'It is vital that the case continues to be made for protecting Eaglesham's green belt and I urge local residents to object to the solar farm planning application.' A statement accompanying the planning application for the solar wind farm states: 'The 28 MW array will supply ~29 GWh/yr of zero-carbon electricity, advancing national and Local Development Plan 2 goals. 'LVIA (Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment) confirms no significant landscape or visual effects from the well-screened site; LEMP (Landscape and Ecological Management Plan) secures native planting and a measurable biodiversity net-gain with no impact on designated habitats. 'Cultural-heritage, glint-and-glare and aviation assessments record no significant residual effects.' An East Renfrewshire Council spokesperson said: 'The application will be considered in due course.' Advance Grid Solutions has been approached for comment. New community well-being hub opens in Rouken Glen Park
The well-being hub, based in Rouken Glen Park, is designed to support health, connection and sustainability through activities led by local groups. Operated by The Community Hub—an initiative of Voluntary Action East Renfrewshire—the site will be open for the next four months under a pilot scheme to test its long-term potential. Chat and Plant members hard at work (Image: Supplied) Ruth Gallagher, chief officer at Voluntary Action East Renfrewshire, said: "Our Community Hub initiative will house East [[Renfrew]]shire Climate Action Hub, Velo World and many other third/community sector organisations interested in joining our collaboration. "We will be testing and trying a variety of activities, including planting and growing community vegetables, health and wellbeing activities such as yoga as well as supporting the development of small local enterprises. "Pop down and have a chat with the team; join in the fun and share your ideas." Located behind Rouken Glen Garden Centre on the former Young Enterprise Scotland site, the hub features greenhouses, growing areas, a commercial kitchen, office pods and an administrative building. It is already home to groups including East Renfrewshire Climate Action Hub and Chat & Plant, with space available for additional organisations during the pilot phase. The Community Hub will use the next four months to assess potential models for future revenue generation and sustainability.
