Falkirk come from behind twice to get the point against Dundee United
Dylan Tait levelled in the 50th minute with a fine finish but Ivan Dolcek restored the Tannadice side's lead in the 71st minute, with his first counter for United – only for home defender Ethan Ross to level with a deflected strike two minutes later. A share of the spoils was probably the correct outcome.
Falkirk, unchanged, began the game unbeaten in their four Premier Sports Cup games this season.
Jim Goodwin's side had won through to the Conference League third qualifiers with a 2-0 aggregate win over Luxembourg side UNA Strassen on Thursday night.
Kristijan Trapanovski and Will Ferry missed out through injury, with Watters and Isaac Pappoe, the midfielder on loan from Ferencvaros, taking over.
Falkirk, so comfortable on their artificial surface, immediately had United on the back foot, albeit failing to really test visiting goalkeeper Yevhen Kucherenko.
The free-flowing Bairns kept pushing forward and in the 20th minute left-back Leon McCann's whipped in cross from the left arrived at Calvin Miller at the back post via a Brian Graham flick but he could not redirect his header towards goal.
Kucherenko caused another scare when he was closed down by Ross as he aimed to clear but the ball bounced wide.
United had a terrific chance to score on the break in the 26th minute but unmarked Watters' header from a Panutche Camara cross was too tame to unduly bother former Celtic keeper Scott Bain.
However, the Taysiders forged ahead following a driving run into the left channel by former Falkirk midfielder Craig Sibbald, whose cross was repelled by Bairns defender Liam Henderson but only to on-loan Barnsley forward Watters, who thrashed the ball behind the helpless Bain.
The second half continued in an open fashion and, after United striker Zac Sapsford was booked for diving in the Falkirk box, the home side levelled.
Right-back Keelan Adams forced his way to the byline and cut the ball back for skipper Brad Spencer to lay it off to midfielder Tait, who hammered the ball high into the net from 12 yards.
The home side had the ascendancy again but United stormed back into the lead after Camara drove forward and set up Dolcek, who beat Bain after his first effort had been blocked.
Falkirk returned fire moments later when Ross' deflected shot from 14 yards after taking an Adams cross, wrong-footed Kucherenko.
There were further opportunities at both ends in an exciting finale but the two sides sides had to settle for a point apiece.

Man Utd transfer news: Benjamin Sesko boost as Bruno Fernandes makes demand
Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes wants to see more signings before the transfer window slams shut and RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko is their top target Manchester United are looking to bounce back this season after their worst ever Premier League finish. United finished 15th last season and failed to qualify for the Champions League after losing the Europa League final to Tottenham. They have already strengthened their squad with additions of Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha and Diego Leon, while Marcus Rashford has joined Barcelona on loan and Christian Eriksen and Victor Lindelof have been released. Plenty more incomings and outgoings are expected before the transfer window slams shut, with Ruben Amorim keen to ship out the likes of Jadon Sancho, Alejandro Garnacho, Antony and Tyrell Malacia. Sesko boost Manchester United have received a boost in their pursuit of Benjamin Sesko after it emerged that the striker's RB Leipzig team-mate Lois Openda will not be making the move to Sunderland. United and Newcastle are both interested in signing Sesko, who netted 21 goals in 45 games across all competitions last season. Fellow Leipzig striker Openda had been heavily linked with Sunderland and it is unlikely they would have let two forwards leave in the same window. However, Sky Sports are now reporting that Openda will not be joining Sunderland and that Leipzig are likely to sell Sesko instead. Fernandes' transfer demand Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has said the club need to add "more quality" in the transfer market this summer. "It's improving, but it's not where we want it to be," Fernandes said after United drew 2-2 with Everton in pre-season. "It's a game of football, there's always passion there. Whatever happens, happens. There was nothing spicy there, it's normal, it is part of the game. It's been positive [the US tour] and it's good to create a bond with the players. "We looked a bit lazy today and we need to change that. We needed more quality to get everyone to step up a bit more and to have more to do to get into the starting line-up. I think that's what the club and the manager are trying to do and hopefully we can get one or two players more to help with that." Shearer verdict Former Premier League striker Alan Shearer is confident that Benjamin Sesko will be a success if he joins Manchester United this summer. When asked if Sesko has the skill-set to thrive in England, Shearer told Amazon Prime: "I do, I think it's a matter of who can afford him. There is no doubt that this football club has a history of making an absolute fortune on transfers and this guy could be the next one to come into the Premier League. "Either foot - left or right - which is great to see. The work rate, the work off the ball, he's got all them things and he's got very good technique, good balance and I don't think there is a doubt in my mind that and he would look very comfortable in the Premier League. I do think he has a lot to learn, but he can learn no doubt."

Aberdeen manager Jimmy Thelin says work is continuing in the background as the club look to add new recruits before the end of the transfer window. The Dons started off their Premiership campaign with a 2-0 defeat by Hearts at Tynecastle, with an own goal from Graeme Shinnie and a second-half header from Stuart Findlay giving the hosts a deserved three points. Jimmy Thelin gives instructions during Aberdeen's 2-0 defeat by Hearts. | SNS Group The transfer window closes on September 1 and quizzed on the prospect of new additions, Thelin said: "I think it's always processes around the team in the transfer windows, but exactly what will happen is difficult to say. We're working on things, but also preparing this team who's here right now for the game at the weekend [Celtic], but who knows, the window is open." Asked if any fresh faces will come in before the Europa League play-off against FCSB or Drita on August 21, Thelin responded: "Again, we have work ongoing, but it's difficult to say exactly what's going to happen, but we have some ideas." Thelin conceded that Aberdeen were second best to Hearts at a raucous and expectant Tynecastle and refused to use the potential excuse of the Jambos having a competitive edge from their Premier Sports Cup matches. "I think we had an idea of how we were going to take on the game today in the first half with the ball, and we didn't succeed in that phase. Hearts put good pressure on us, and then they win these second balls and create a momentum with the crosses, they pick up the second ball and another cross, and then from there on they were better in the first half, and also these 50-50 situations around and inside the box. "I think in the second half we got better with the ball and started creating some chances in their box, but we were not really clinical today, and they were also good when they were first on the rebound, so we were not really there. "And then they find another situation and they score the second goal, and then it was difficult to try to find a way back into the game and give us a chance to get a point, but they were good in how they defended the box and how they challenged our box. In this challenge we need to take a step as a team and grow in the future.
