Scam ad promising to recover scam money is a scam itself, PDRM warn
Acting director of Bukit Aman's Commercial Crime Investigation Department (JSJK) Datuk Seri Hasbullah Ali confirmed the police had detected a post on the social media platform using the PDRM logo, along with the terms 'Royal Malaysia Police' and 'Commercial Crime Investigation Department (CCID)'.
'Our department has no affiliation with this advertisement, and the service being promoted is a fraudulent attempt,' he said in a statement yesterday.
He urged the public to exercise caution and avoid such scams. — Bernama

Police conclude probe into Zara Qairina's death, 60 witnesses interviewed
KUANTAN, Aug 2 — Police have completed their investigation into the death of 13-year-old Zara Qairina Mahathir, who was found unconscious in a drain near her school dormitory on July 16. Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said about 60 witnesses from various parties had been interviewed in connection with the case. 'The investigation is complete. I expect the police will submit the papers to the Attorney-General's Chambers by next week at the latest,' he said when asked about developments in the case. He was speaking to reporters after officiating the Passing-Out Parade for the 12/2024 Maritime Junior Lieutenant Basic Course and the 18/2024 Maritime Class II Cadet Basic Course at the Sultan Ahmad Shah Maritime Academy (AMSAS) here today. Zara Qairina was pronounced dead at Queen Elizabeth I Hospital in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, on July 17. Her death sparked widespread reactions on social media after the case went viral. Sabah Police Commissioner Datuk Jauteh Dikun was previously reported as saying investigations focused on two main aspects, namely the cause of death and the surrounding circumstances. Meanwhile, Saifuddin said the government remains committed to strengthening the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency's (MMEA) operational capabilities, including through the construction of two additional Offshore Patrol Vessels (OPV). He said MMEA is also in the process of acquiring a decommissioned United States Coast Guard Cutter, expected to arrive in November. 'With these assets, I believe we can boost morale and enhance the effectiveness of control, patrol and inspection operations,' he said. A total of 68 officers and 186 personnel completed 10 months of basic training and are now qualified to serve in the MMEA.

Wife shocked after learning policeman husband was stabbed during patrol
KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 2 — The wife of a police corporal stabbed while on patrol in Pudu last week described her shock upon receiving a call from the hospital requesting immediate consent for emergency surgery. Norfazliana Osman, 35, said she was at their home in the Pudu police quarters when Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz (HCTM), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, contacted her around 1 pm on Thursday. 'They said they needed to operate immediately and asked for consent as part of his intestines might need to be removed due to the stab wound,' she told reporters at the hospital today. Her husband, Corporal Mohd Nadzri Sudiman, remains in stable condition but is still weak and requires pain management, she said. 'I understand the risks of his job as a policeman, but as a wife, the fear is always there,' said Norfazliana, who has two children aged 11 and seven. She said it is uncertain how long her husband will remain hospitalised, but confirmed their children have been informed of his condition. Earlier, Deputy Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay visited Mohd Nadzri at the hospital. Also present were Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Mohamed Usuf Jan Mohamad, Bukit Aman Management (Administration) deputy director Datuk Azizee Ismail, Wangsa Maju district police chief ACP Mohd Lazim Ismail and Cheras district police chief ACP Aidil Bolhassan. Mohd Nadzri was seriously injured after being stabbed in the abdomen by a 56-year-old local man while patrolling with four other officers in Pudu Market, Jalan Yew. The suspect was arrested at the scene and has been remanded until next Thursday. The case is being investigated under Section 307 and Section 186 of the Penal Code for attempted murder and obstructing a public servant, as well as Section 39A(1) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952. — Bernama

Sabah Police Museum prepares for public opening

Kota Kinabalu: The Sabah State Police Museum will be open to the public soon once the display materials and interior fittings are fully completed, said Sabah Police Commissioner Datuk Jauteh Dikun. He said the museum's official opening will be held later, giving the public an opportunity to explore the history and development of the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) in the state. 'Although the museum is not yet 100 per cent complete, I'm pleased to report that under the supervision of the Head of the Crime Prevention and Community Safety Department (JPJKK), Datuk Azhar Hamin, along with the museum's curator, progress has been smooth. 'God willing, it will be fully completed in the near future and we will announce visiting hours for the public once everything is ready,' he said. Jauteh was speaking to reporters after attending the state-level Warriors' Day 2025 celebration at the Sabah Police Contingent Headquarters (IPK) here on Thursday. In conjunction with the celebration, Head of State Tun Musa Aman and Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor also toured the museum exhibition area. Jauteh said the visit drew strong interest from the dignitaries in attendance. 'The visit caught the attention of the Head of State, the Chief Minister, and other invited guests. We will determine the official opening date once all preparations and installations are completed as planned,' he added. Meanwhile, Jauteh said about 700 personnel from the PDRM, Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM), and Kota Kinabalu City Hall (DBKK) participated in the Warriors' Day celebration. 'This year, PDRM was given the honour of co-chairing the event with DBKK, and we are thankful everything went smoothly. 'Activities went according to plan, including the Tanduo Pentomin performance.
