Boston Celtics trade Jrue Holiday to Portland Trail Blazers

The Boston Celtics are trading Jrue Holiday to the Portland Trail Blazers for Anfernee Simons, according to multiple reports. ESPN's Shams Charania was the first to report the trade, which also sends two second-round picks to the Celtics. Advertisement Holiday goes to the team that he was initially traded to in a three-team deal in September 2023 between the Milwaukee Bucks, Phoenix Suns and Trail Blazers in order for the Bucks to acquire Damian Lillard. Shortly thereafter, Holiday was traded by the Trail Blazers to the Celtics. Now the two-time All-Star and two-time NBA champion returns to Portland. In two seasons with the Celtics, Holiday averaged 11.8 points and helped Boston win the 2024 NBA title. Holiday is the second major NBA player to be dealt in as many days after the Suns traded Kevin Durant to the Houston Rockets on Sunday, June 22. Holiday signed a four-year, $134.4 million extension with the Celtics late in the 2023-24 season and has three seasons remaining on the deal, though he has a player option on 2027-28 and can become a free agent in the summer of 2027. Holiday, 35, remains one of the top defensive guards in the league and will help Portland rebuild in the short term and possibly longer The Celtics are looking to reduce their luxury tax bill and create roster flexibility. They will look to make more moves through the draft and free agency. Advertisement Simons, a first-round pick by the Trail Blazers in 2018, has averaged 15 points during his seven-year NBA career, which had been spent in Portland. He is entering the final season of a four-year, $100 million contract and is due $27.6 million in 2025-26. Simons will be an unrestricted free agent after next season. Tom Sandoval's Really Trying to Make His Music Career Happen With ‘America's Got Talent' Audition

Tom Sandoval is showing off his vocal skills on TV once again — this time with his band The Most Extras. The former Vanderpump Rules star — who recently boasted about his musical abilities on season three of Peacock's The Traitors (see the episode featuring the creepy singing dolls) — is set to appear on the Tuesday (June 24) episode of NBC's America's Got Talent, and the network has released an early look at the group's audition. 'Couple years ago, I made some really bad choices and was involved in a very bad cheating scandal, and I let down a lot of people. It pretty much destroyed my life. It was absurd how much coverage and how big it became,' the reality TV star shared in his intro, referencing 'Scandoval,' which broke in May 2023. Sandoval had been caught by Ariana Madix, his then girlfriend of nearly 10 years, cheating with one of her closest friends and their VPR castmate Raquel (now Rachel) Leviss. 'I just hope the audience and the judges see who I am as a musician.' 'It was really, really rough, and I was in a very, very dark place. I felt as though I had nothing in my life, and this band was the only thing that kept me going,' he said of the aftermath, as best friend and VPR star Tom Schwartz, along with Sandoval's girlfriend, Victoria, cheered him on from the audience. 'I would love … to be just, like, the ultimate cover band.' As Tom Sandoval and The Most Extras prepared to begin their performance, the judges chatted amongst themselves, with Howie Mandel explaining to Sofia Vergara who Sandoval was. 'He slept with his girlfriend's best friend,' he told her, with Mel B chiming in, 'No wonder nobody likes him, then!' To that, the acerbic Cowell declared, 'Do you know how NOT interested I am in any of that stuff?' And with that, Sandoval — in one of his signature sequined jackets (though not with the matching green pants Madix once advised him not to wear, nor the white manicure or 'worm' of a mustache that made him the butt of many jokes) — took the stage with his band to deliver their cover of a-ha's Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 'Take on Me.' Though the now-broken penis flute did not make an appearance, Sandoval did show off some moves that fans of VPR who've seen him perform with The Most Extras on and off the Bravo hit. But will Tom Sandoval and The Most Extras win the AGT judges' approval? Watch the competition show Tuesday at 8 p.m. on NBC, or stream it on Peacock to see.
