Cardiff City secured the Bute Energy Welsh Cup for a fourth successive season with a 3-1 victory over Wrexham in Newport. In the repeat of last season's welsh women's final, goals from Lilly Billingham, Shannon Evans and Fiona Barry were enough to complete the league and cup double for the Bluebirds.Billingham, unmarked in midfield, rifled in a 30 yard screamer to open the scoring at Rodney Parade.Evans added a second, heading in from a looping Ffion Price free-kick.From the restart Wrexham won a penalty as Abbie Iddenden, the Dragons' biggest threat, was tripped by Ceryn Chamberlain. These new processes combined with conventional, in-person talent ID will be pivotal in identifying new additions throughout the summer and beyond."We fought off stiff competition from across the globe for his signature, so we're incredibly pleased to have the deal over the line so early in the window, and we look forward to unveiling more exciting new signings."

Aaron Ramsey's shock transfer questioned on live TV as Cardiff City fans point finger

Aaron Ramsey's shock transfer questioned on live TV as Cardiff City fans point finger Aaron Ramsey's future remains in limbo following claims he has agreed a move to Mexican side Pumas Aaron Ramsey is believed to be leaving Cardiff City (Image: Huw Evans Picture Agency ) News over the weekend involving Aaron Ramsey and a switch to Mexican side Pumas shocked not only Cardiff City fans but those on the other side of the Atlantic too. The Press Association reported that Ramsey, 34, has agreed a move to the Guadalajara-based outfit and that he will not be taking over as Bluebirds boss. ‌ Wales legend Ramsey had been heavily fancied by bookmakers and by many others as the man to succeed Omer Riza in the Cardiff City Stadium dugout, especially following the news Nathan Jones - another tipped for the job - had signed a new long-term deal with Charlton. ‌ Cardiff now look to be returning to candidates previously under consideration, with Des Buckingham and Brian Barry-Murphy among them. The bookies are placing those two at the front of the pack, with a decision due imminently on what comes next. Mind you, that has been said for weeks now, but either way, it appears Ramsey will not be taking charge of his boyhood club for their campaign in League One next season. Barry-Murphy is also the evens favourite with BetVictor for the Plymouth Argyle job as things stand, with Buckingham third in the betting at 9/4. It's believed an outcome is expected within 48 hours. Article continues below Cardiff City Supporters' Trust issued a statement on Tuesday, pointing the finger at owner Vincent Tan and CEO Ken Choo for the ongoing saga. "We wanted to inform supporters that we are in regular and frequent contact with club concerning the managerial situation, urging them to issue an update statement to fans. We continue to press the situation. Appears to us that indecision is down to owner and CEO," the statement read. Over the past 48 hours or so, details of Ramsey's move have emerged in the Mexican press, with the deal also being discussed on television. ‌ During a segment on Fox Deportes show Punto Final, former Mexico and Pumas player Francisco 'Paco' Palencia called the signing into question, suggesting Ramsey was in two minds about whether to stick to playing and questioning his ability to keep up with the fast pace of Liga MX. "Honestly, it's tough, because you're getting into the coaching thing and you want to go back to playing," said Palencia. "So, that means you're not really sure what you want to do, if [you want to be a] coach or player, right? In this business you have to be very clear if you want to be a coach or you want to keep playing football. "The quality, of course he has it. He's given a lot to the famous Arsenal. But I think at the moment you have to bring in players who really are going to perform for you, because the pace of Mexican football, in the sense of what Pumas is with its identity - that intensity, that tension, that Puma spirit, running for the whole 90 minutes - I don't know if it'll be enough for him, being already on that dividing line of wanting to be a coach or not wanting to be a coach anymore. ‌ Asked if the acquisition of Ramsey would boost the Pumas' current side, he added: "H e's a very good player. He's really good. Yeah, he's a god with the ball, seriously. He's a god with the ball. But it's much more of a media thing. You have to run. The other nine have to run, because the goalkeeper doesn't run." Meanwhile, presenter Vero Gonzalez also questioned the move, suggesting that the Welshman is too old and too injury prone to be a good fit for Pumas. "They need energy, they also need players from their youth academy. And if they're going to be foreigners, they need to perform above the level, because lately those foreigners haven't been delivering. ‌ "This guy comes with injuries, almost 35 years old. Sure, he was a big name, but these days he was barely playing. I don't think it was the best choice. It's much more of a media thing." The Record report Pumas and their board have offered Ramsey a salary higher than his Cardiff one, saying he will earn around $2.5million a year, although that is disputed by other outlets, who cite a lower figure. The Record also mention that the coach of the club, Efraín Juárez, shares the same agent as Ramsey, David Baldwin of the Avid Sports & Entertainment Group agency. ‌ Ramsey was pictured having dinner with Baldwin and others on Instagram at the weekend. Tellingly, the club have also just had a FIFA transfer ban removed from them after an administrative issue was resolved. They are now free to add to their ranks and Ramsey would certainly be a marque signing. Reforma state Ramsey is close to agreeing a two-year deal with the Pumas 'but some financial details remain to be finalised', with it being likely a one-plus-one contract. Article continues below Meanwhile, Ramsey has completely disappeared from the bookies' listings for the next manager. What comes next for Ramsey and the Bluebirds remains to be seen.
