BTS' V Reportedly Spotted Having A Meal With Singer IU For Her Birthday

Hype Malaysia16-05-2025
Fans get excited over the smallest interactions between K-pop stars, whether in public or private. Recently, ARMYs and Uaenas cheered when they found out that BTS' (방탄소년단) V (뷔) and IU (아이유) had met up to celebrate her birthday.
According to reports, a fan spotted V at a restaurant in Seoul on 15th May 2025 (Thursday). An image shared online clearly showed the idol seated across someone, presumably having a meal together. While the fan didn't disclose the identity of who was in front of the 30-year-old, the outfit they wore became a major hint. Many fans deduced that the mystery person was none other than singer-actress IU.
The 'When Life Gives You Tangerines' star, who celebrates her birthday today (16th May 2025, Friday), held a livestream on the 15th. During the live stream, IU wore an oversized plaid shirt similar to the one worn by the person in the photo with V. This similar outfit led fans to believe that the vocalist held an early birthday celebration with the BTS member in attendance. However, this has yet to be confirmed.
Regardless, fans are excited over the possible interaction between V and IU. Many cheered over their friendship, saying it's great they're still close despite their busy schedules. The two stars first got close after V appeared in IU's 'Love Wins All' music video, where he played her love interest. Since then, their friendship has grown, and the BTS member even took time off from his schedule to attend IU's concert in Seoul in September 2024.
In related news, IU's gearing up for her new album, 'Flower Bookmark 3', which is releasing on 27th May 2025 (Tuesday). ASTRO (아스트로) member Cha Eun Woo (차은우) will reportedly star in the title track's music video. Meanwhile, V is nearing the end of his military service and will be discharged on 10th June 2025 (Tuesday), alongside groupmate RM. Fellow BTS members Jimin and Jungkook will be discharged the day after (11th June 2025, Wednesday).
We can't confirm if V and IU met up for her birthday, but if it's true, it's nice to see the two get along so well. Perhaps we'll see more interactions once V is discharged from the military.

#SHOWBIZ: BlackPink makes history at Wembley Stadium

LONDON: BlackPink proved once again why they are the biggest girl group on the planet, as they lit up Wembley Stadium last weekend. The K-pop queens made history as the first South Korean female act to ever headline the legendary venue, performing in front of a sold-out crowd of 70,000 screaming fans, as reported by BBC News. The four members — Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa — now share the same stage as icons like Michael Jackson, Taylor Swift, BTS, and Oasis. Fans were treated to a two-and-a-half-hour show filled with superb choreography, stadium-shaking music, and plenty of heartfelt moments. The group's close bond shone just as brightly as the stage lights. Lisa called the moment "an absolute honour," while Jennie admitted it still felt "a little unreal," and Rosé summed it up as "a whole other level." The Wembley set marked the end of the European leg of their Deadline world tour, which covers 31 dates in 16 cities. The tour kicked off in Seoul with the release of their new track, 'Jump'. The single has already made history on YouTube, amassing 26 million views in just 24 hours. The tour itself is on track to break BlackPink's own record for the highest-grossing tour by a female group, a record they previously set in 2023 when they surpassed the Spice Girls. The only other K-pop act to headline Wembley is BTS, making BlackPink's achievement even more groundbreaking.

#SHOWBIZ: Jackson Wang cancels Music Korea Fan Event after emergency hospitalisation

SEOUL: K-pop idol Jackson Wang's busy schedule was temporarily paused on Friday when he was rushed to the emergency room with food poisoning at midnight. The medical emergency led to the immediate cancellation of his Music Korea Fan Sign Event, which was scheduled for the following day, as reported by the Korea JoongAng Daily. This setback comes just months after the former GOT7 member released his second album, 'Magic Man 2', in July. Since leaving JYP Entertainment in 2021 to pursue a solo career, the artiste has become well-known for his powerful vocals and smooth dance moves. Wang now faces a quick recovery to get back on track with his tight schedule, which leads up to his ambitious 'Magic Man 2' world tour, kicking off in October. The Asian leg of the tour includes major cities like Bangkok, Jakarta, Manila, and Tokyo, as well as a show in Kuala Lumpur on Oct 25.
