Husband of woman who was flung from car on Kesas highway to be charged soon
KUALA LUMPUR: The husband of a woman who died after being thrown from the van she was riding in on the Shah Alam Highway (Kesas) near the Awan Besar Rest and Treatment (R&R) area heading to Petaling Jaya on May 6 will be charged soon.
Kuala Lumpur deputy police chief Datuk Mohamed Usuf Jan Mohamad said the investigation paper has been referred to the deputy public prosecutor for further action.
"The case is being investigated under Section 304A of the Penal Code for negligently causing death," he told reporters after attending a blood donation programme in conjunction with the 218th Police Day at the Kuala Lumpur Police Headquarters, here on Wednesday (May 14).
On May 6, a woman was found dead after she was believed to have been thrown from a van on the roadside of Kesas Highway and initial police investigations found that the incident occurred as a result of an argument between the victim and her husband.
Meanwhile, regarding the case of the discovery of a baby boy's body in the Klang River on May 9, Mohamed Usuf said it is still under investigation. - Bernama

Post-mortem reveals mother and son died from stab wounds to chest and back
MELAKA: A post-mortem has confirmed that a mother and her eldest son were fatally stabbed in the chest and back, in an incident where the suspect is believed to be the woman's second son, aged 17. Melaka police chief Datuk Dzulkhairi Mukhtar said the 51-year-old teacher had suffered stab wounds to her chest and back, while her 21-year-old son died from a stab wound to the chest. 'A third victim, the youngest son aged 13, remains in intensive care at Melaka Hospital and is reported to be in stable condition,' he said in a statement today. Police said the suspect was arrested outside the family home, appearing dazed at the time. A 20cm bloodstained folding knife, believed to be the murder weapon, was found in a school bag outside the house. The incident is believed to have occurred around 5 am on Thursday, with the victims were found unresponsive and covered in blood in the living room. The teenager has been remanded for seven days until June 19 by Magistrate N. Sivashangari at the Ayer Keroh Magistrate's Court, to assist investigations under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.

Police tracking two suspects in Taman Serumpun explosion
BUKIT MERTAJAM: Police are tracking down two suspects believed to be involved in a firecracker explosion at Taman Serumpun yesterday that damaged three houses. Seberang Perai Tengah police chief ACP Helmi Aris said the two suspects were believed to have fled in a car when the explosion occurred at about 1 am. '...we are also reviewing closed-circuit camera (CCTV) footage from the area to assist the investigation. 'So far, we do not rule out the possibility that the act was committed by two suspects in a car, but their identities have yet to be established,' he told Bernama today.
