Family with 40 year link take over beloved Anglesey pub!
Hannah has been coming to the bay itself since she was three-weeks-old - she has just turned 41. The family have enjoyed many special occasions at the pub over the years.
Hannah said: "They didn't allow children in the pub when I was a child but as soon as I was allowed in, pre-smoking ban, we used to enjoy family time there, especially for the annual Easter bonnet competition.
"I have been coming to the bay since I was three-weeks-old with my family. We came to my grandad's chalet on St David's on the bay for a few weeks in the summer every year for our annual holiday. We loved it so much.
"After many years of family fun, my parents bought a chalet (a used chalet from The Warren) and had it sited on St David's (both sites were owned by Haulfryn). I was about nine then. My parents then bought a house in the bay and now my dad Chris and Sonia, his wife and my amazing step mother from the island Star, live in Benllech and we stay at the house in the bay.

"We are very passionate about creating special memories in this new chapter and sharing the stories people have and what makes this place special.
"The island is our family's special place - our home, and what makes us tick."
The trio is being supported by Katie Smith, who has joined The Ship Inn as operations director. Katie, originally from North Wales, has worked in hospitality since the age of 12.
Over the years, she has worked across a wide range of hospitality businesses in both operational and strategic roles.
Katie said: "It's a privilege to be part of such an iconic place.
"Hannah-Louise, Iain, and Chris officially took over The Ship Inn in March 2025. They bring with them a mix of creative, commercial, and operational experience from various industries.
"They're very hands-on and passionate about great food, warm service, and preserving the heart of The Ship Inn while evolving it for the next generation of visitors.
"They've made decades of memories here so when the opportunity came to take it on, they felt it was a real 'meant to be' moment.

"That sense of heritage, combined with the chance to breathe fresh energy into its next chapter, was a huge part of the appeal for the family."
Hannah, Iain and Chris said it is a "huge honour and responsibility' to be part of The Ship Inn's next chapter - and one they don't take "lightly".

"For us, it's about protecting that sense of place and belonging, while evolving to meet the needs of today's guests."
The new management team have already starting making changes to The Ship Inn to make it more family-friendly and dog-friendly.
They are in the process of refreshing the events calendar and have plans to introduce regular live music and seasonal 'pop-ups'.
"The décor will be evolving gradually too," Katie said.
"Still keeping that classic coastal charm, but with some brighter, more contemporary touches and nods to our nautical setting."
The pub has appointed head chef James Archer who has worked in several "top-rated" kitchens across the UK.

"Our new menu, which launched on June 25, is rooted in fresh, seasonal ingredients and great flavour.
"Customers will still find beloved classics like fish and chips, but alongside that, we're introducing some lighter coastal dishes, creative vegetarian and vegan options, and new desserts that celebrate the best of the season."

"We know The Ship Inn means so much to so many," she said.
"We want to build on the best of what's always been here: a warm welcome, quality food and drink, and a spectacular setting. At the same time, we're investing in the future – whether that's through new menus, more inclusive events, or making sure the pub is a place where all generations feel at home. We want to celebrate the stories that have come before us while creating space for new memories to be made.
"We're incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported us so far - from the local community to loyal regulars and first-time visitors.
"We've had a fantastic start and are full of excitement for what's to come."

Rebecca Judd lifts the lid on husband Chris' gross 'footy feet' in wild podcast confession
She's known for her glamorous fashion sense, but Bec Judd just shared a not-so-chic side of married life. In Wednesday's episode of her Vain-ish podcast, the 42-year-old WAG-turned-media personality opened up about her husband Chris Judd's foul feet. Reflecting on his professional AFL days, Bec revealed the couple used to get joint pedicures - and his required medical-grade intervention. 'Chris and I, my husband, we used to go to a nail salon. This is going back 10, 15 years when he was playing for Carlton,' Bec recalled on the podcast. 'I needed mine painted, but because of how fast he would run and change of direction and the pressure calluses, is that what they are? Calluses? The build-up. 'He would have like a centimetre of dead skin in a plane with a sharp edge from pushing off.' She went on to describe how the scene would unfold at their local nail salon, comparing it to a full-scale operation. 'All the gorgeous ladies in there would just start giggling because we'd sit there next to each other and they'd be painting my toenails,' she said. 'And then there'd be like a whole team with scalpels and everything on his feet all laughing as they're shaving off all this dead skin. 'There would be mountains of dead skin by the end of it. I'm not even lying, like mountains of it. 'They'd have to come and sweep it up and they'd always be giggling.' Chris, now 41, is a dual Brownlow Medallist and former Carlton and West Coast Eagles star who retired from AFL in 2015. The couple married in 2010 in a lavish ceremony and are one of Australia's most high-profile sporting couples. Together they share four children - son Oscar, daughter Billie, and twin boys Tom and Darcy - and reside in a multi-million-dollar Spanish-style mansion in Melbourne's Brighton. Bec has since carved out her own career as a media presenter, fashion designer, and podcast host. Vain-ish, which she co-hosts with fellow glam mum and influencer Rozalia Russian, has become a hit thanks to their candid takes on beauty, motherhood, and behind-the-scenes secrets. It comes weeks after Bec revealed the eye-watering amount it would take her family to relocate from the desirable bayside property. 'No, we are not selling. But if somebody wants to pay 10 times market rates, then sure, it's all yours,' she wrote. Bec and Chris moved into the $7.3million mansion in December 2019. They have since conducted extensive renovation work on the property, increasing its value, including installing an extra bedroom and rumpus room. The power couple originally purchased the sprawling house in March 2018, and commenced a complete makeover before moving in.

Mum horrified after finding ‘disturbing' hidden messages on daughter's dress
Mum Savannah has posted on TikTok how she discovered inappropriate comments with sexual innuendo in small print written on a dress which she had bought for her young daughter A mum has told how she was shocked to find her child's dress decorated with bunnies and jelly beans also had messages with sexual innuendo. Savannah posted on TikTok about her worrying discovery and has warned other parents to take care with her video now having received more than 23 million views. She shows the dress in the clip which looks perfectly innocent with the pink top showing three bunnies and then a white dress with more drawings but also some messages in very small print. And the mum said how she wondered what the messages where one day and that was when she made the shocking discovery. 'One day, when she was napping, I figured I'd take a peek and see what they actually said,' she told in the video. And then she continued, saying that one of the short comments read: 'Want to have an Easter egg hunt under the covers?' Another with sexually charged language read: 'This coupon entitles you to one free peep show!' And they went on in a similar tone with one stating: 'Let's pretend we're rabbits and do whatever comes naturally,' and another message read: 'My tulips (two lips) want to be on your tulips.' The 'weirdest,' according to Savannah, said: 'You've been the best husband and friend a girl could have ever asked for'. Many agreed that the comments were extremely disturbing. 'WTF,' one of the top responses read, reflecting the general sentiment in more than 20,000 comments. Others asked, 'Where did you get that?' as some described the dress as 'disturbing,' 'nasty,' and 'ew'.' 'The world is so perverted now,' said another. However, a few suggested it could have been simply an innocent mistake. One social media user wrote: 'Aww, maybe it was an accident & they accidentally wrote all that.' The dress was made by a US small business called Lele & Co. In response, the company took down the item and issued a statement on its website. It read: 'I would like to express my deepest apologies for the inappropriate text found on one of the clothing items sold in my store. This particular piece was a resale item from a vendor, and regrettably, I did not catch the offensive wording before it was listed. 'Please rest assured that this does not align with the values I uphold or support. We are in the process of taking any and all necessary legal actions against the vendor. For the record, the item in question has been promptly removed from my website and all social media accounts. All remaining stock was destroyed immediately.'

Tourists 'spot' weird beast in Loch Ness waters
Domino's, which has been diversifying the way it delivers its goods in recent months, including via robot dog and on a pothole proof bike – has now gone one step further, utilising a semi-submersible watercraft. The shark like submarine, which can reach speeds of up to almost 45 miles per hour and jump five metres in height from the water, was able to deliver pizzas to campers on the shores. Designed for stealth and speed, the craft is powered by a 300-horsepower high-performance engine. (Image: Robert Perry/PinPep) While the sighting wasn't of the Loch Ness Monster, those watching from the shore were staggered at the sheer pace of the unidentified object which delivered the pizza brands goods to the pair at a nearby camping spot in Loch Ness, Scotland. Captured on video, this high-speed vessel moves across the open water performing a series of moves that break the surface, before pulling up next to a couple waiting on a dock for a pizza. Izzy Gardener, from Pizza Delivery Innovation at Domino's said: 'We're always looking for new and unexpected ways to deliver to our customers, and this summer we wanted to make a splash with another quirky delivery, "Loch Ness is known for its legends, so it felt like the perfect place to test the waters of a world-first submarine delivery.' This is the latest wacky way in which the brand is trying to push the boundaries when it comes to delivering pizza. The Domi-dog, a robot pooch designed to keep pizza safe this summer from pesky seagulls, was let loose on a south coast beach. Another was the pothole proof delivery bike, complete with onboard oven set to 68C to keep orders warm in transit. Not to mention their other endeavours to break new markets with the creation of a Pepperoni Passion perfume ahead of Valentines Day. And the Easter Release of the limited-edition Garlic & Herb Egg. Izzy Gardener added: 'While we won't be training all drivers to become pilots of this unique mode of transport anytime soon, it shows our ongoing commitment to innovation and how far we'll go to deliver to our customers.'
