According to the report, Dino was summoned after multiple phone conversations between him, his brother, and the prime accused, Ketan Kadam, were unearthed. These conversations are being investigated. Dino's name came to light when the call records and financial transactions linked to the accused were being checked.
He is being questioned to find out if he knows about the dealings between Keta and other parties. News agency ANI tweeted, 'Actor Dino Morea is being questioned by EOW of the Mumbai Police in connection with the Mithi River cleaning scam. His name came up in the investigation for having connections with one of the arrested accused in the matter: Mumbai police.'
Reportedly, the scam is about alleged financial irregularities in the rental of silt pusher machines as well as dredging equipment by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). A few weeks ago, the EOW arrested two accused—Ketan Kadam and Jayesh Joshi—who allegedly acted as intermediaries in the supply of equipment. They allegedly charged the BMC an inflated amount for the equipment, in connivance with officials from the civic body's storm water drains department (SWD) and Matprop executives.
While Ketan is the director of Woder India LLP, a Mumbai-based company that provides desilting services, Jayesh is associated with Virgo Specialties Pvt Ltd, a Mumbai-based industrial product manufacturer. Earlier, 13 people were booked in connection with the scam.
Dino made his Bollywood debut with the hit film Pyaar Mein Kabhi Kabhi. He then featured in many films such as Raaz, Gunaah, Aksar, Life Mein Kabhie Kabhiee, Dus Kahaniyaan, and Heroes. He was last seen in the web series The Royals. It also featured Zeenat Aman, Ishaan Khatter and Bhumi Pednekar.
He will also be seen in Housefull 5, which is gearing up for a grand release on June 6. Directed by Tarun Mansukhani, Housefull 5 will also star Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Abhishek Bachchan, Fardeen Khan, Jacqueline Fernandez, Sanjay Dutt, Jackie Shroff, and Johny Lever.

Dino Morea summoned by ED in Mithi River Distilling case
The Enforcement Directorate on Saturday summoned Bollywood actor Dino Morea to appear before it next week in the Rs 65 crore Mithi River Desilting scam case. The investigation is being conducted under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), they said. After the expiry of the general body in 2022, the civic body was controlled by the state government, which was then headed by Eknath Shinde. It was alleged by the police in its complaint that BMC officials tailored the tender for the desilting contract in such a way that it benefited a particular supplier of machinery, and the contractors reportedly generated fraudulent bills for transporting the sludge out of and his brother were questioned by the Mumbai Police EOW in this case last month. The 49-year-old actor has been questioned twice by Morea brothers were questioned by the police about their alleged links with alleged middleman Ketan Kadam, arrested in the case along with another accused, Jai Joshi, apart from some financial transactions made in a company linked to Santino. This is the second time that the actor has been in the crosshairs of the ED, In 2021, the agency had attached his assets as part of a money laundering investigation linked to an alleged bank fraud case against Gujarat-based pharmaceutical company Sterling Biotech and its promoters. Housefull 5 Day 1 Worldwide Box Office: Akshay Kumar's madcap comedy takes a SOLID worldwide start of Rs 37.25 crore
Housefull 5 grossed Rs 26.50 crore (Rs 22 crore net) in India and Rs 10.75 crore (USD 1.25m) internationally for a worldwide opening day of Rs 37.25 crore. This is a robust opening day for the Akshay Kumar starrer, standing tall as one of the best in his career. The India opening can be classified as good while the overseas opening is very good. The India opening of Housefull 5 is pretty much on expected lines, in-fact slightly lower than we predicted. It is still good and it has given the movie the foundation to grow big over the weekend. The opening internationally, however, is significantly higher than expected and a weekend of over USD 4 million is locked. The global opening weekend shall be around or slightly under Rs 150 crore, setting the comedy up well for the days ahead. Here is the breakdown for the opening day worldwide opening gross of Housefull 5 Particulars Amount India Gross Rs 26.50 crore Overseas Gross Rs 10.75 crore Worldwide Gross Rs 37.25 crore Housefull has been a franchise with no misses and Housefull 5 can also join the coveted list of Housefull films with a hit verdict. For that, the movie must try and net around Rs 200 crore in India and gross over Rs 300 crore 5 is the third biggest Bollywood opener worldwide, only behind Chhaava (Rs 46 crore) and Sikandar (Rs 45 crore). Chhaava went on to emerge as an all time blockbuster while Sikandar sealed a sorry fate, ending its global run grossing just around Rs 175 crore or so. Internationally, Housefull 5 has benefitted greatly by the excellent production value and by the star-studded cast. The look and feel of the movie is rich and it shows in every frame. Above that, having two different versions with two climaxes has helped audiences become even more curious to watch the movie. Even if the killer-mystery is the secondary factor for a comedy of Housefull's nature, it plays a role in drawing the audience to theatres. If it was a conventional Housefull movie with no change from the previous installments, it could have been fatal as audiences crave for something new each time they see a Housefull movie, even if the core remains the same. Housefull 5 plays in theatres now. Have you watched the movie yet? If yes, what are your thoughts on the film? Also, which version did you watch? A or B? Stay tuned to Pinkvilla for more updates on Housefull 5.
