They dazzled—just a little… or maybe a lot.
XO, Kitty's star siblings, Sang Heon-lee and Gia Kim, who had already infused the hit series with luxe aesthetics, brought their signature fashion-forward flair to the 2025 Oscars, held at Dolby Theatre, Hollywood, California.
Kim graced the red carpet in a breathtaking strapless velvet gown, exuding old Hollywood charm. The dress featured a daring sweetheart neckline, perfectly complemented by a statement gold chain necklace that added a modern edge to the classic silhouette. She completed the look with dangling earrings and a chrome manicure, effortlessly merging timeless elegance with contemporary trends, as noted by Teen Vogue.
Her brother, Sang Heon Lee, was not to be outshined. Embracing a bold yet refined aesthetic, he donned a black three-piece suit with an oversized contemporary silhouette, setting himself apart from the sea of traditional tuxedos. His choice of metallic silver Maison Margiela Tabi shoes added an avant-garde touch, making a statement that resonated with fashion aficionados.
Lee has already gained attention for his standout style in XO, Kitty. His on-screen wardrobe perfectly reflects his character's suave confidence and effortless charm. He seamlessly blended tailored blazers with casual puffer jackets, accessorizing with sleek sunglasses to enhance his laid-back appeal. His take on academia fashion, layering sweaters over button-downs, struck the perfect balance between polished and relaxed. Even his bold red jacket never felt overdone—it was all about controlled, effortless cool.
Naturally, their Oscars fashion set social media abuzz, with fans dubbing them "the ultimate power sibling duo" and raving about their impeccable style. However, not all feedback was glowing—some weren't entirely sold on Lee's longer hairstyle, with a few suggesting he'd look better with a shorter cut.
Regardless of the minor critiques, one thing remains certain: these siblings continue to prove that they're always ahead of the fashion curve—whether on-screen or on the red carpet.
Meanwhile, in other good news for fans, XO Kitty has been renewed for a third season.

Cannes Film Festival 2025: Jodie Foster prefers life outside US
Jodie Foster prefers to be outside the US right now, the Oscar-winning actor told Reuters at the Cannes Film Festival on Wednesday, citing better conditions in Europe's film industry as well as more freedom now that her children have grown up. Foster was in southern France for the premiere of A Private Life, a psychological thriller in which Foster assumes the role of a psychiatrist who tasks herself with investigating the death of her patient, played by Virginie Efira. The US-born actor, who won two Oscars for The Accused in 1989 and The Silence of the Lambs in 1992, had to speak in French only for the Cannes film that is screening out of competition. Foster, 62, began her career filming commercials at the age of 3 and has received numerous awards throughout her career, including an honorary Palme d'Or award from Cannes in 2021. "I'm really enjoying working outside the United States," she said, recalling how she is not as tied down to the US now as she was when her children were little and she had to stay close to home. Foster, who first came to Cannes as a 13-year-old when she starred in Taxi Driver, said working as a director in France was better than in the US because of more creative freedom. Blending genres, like director Rebecca Zlotowski does in Foster's new film, is very uncommon in the US, she said. Studios want a film to be either a thriller or a comedy, they don't want a mixture of the two, she said, whereas France allows the director to have more authority on such decisions. "That's the reason why filmmakers love to come here." In Europe, female directors also have had more opportunities compared with the US, said Foster, herself a director. "I'd only worked with one female director until a few years ago. Isn't that kind of amazing? After I've made 60 movies that I've barely ever worked with another woman?" she said. "Europe has always had a female tradition, or at least for quite a while. But in America, somehow that bias really took hold."

Denzel Washington receives honorary Palme d'Or at Cannes
CANNES: Denzel Washington sandwiched a whirlwind trip to the Cannes Film Festival, in between Broadway performances, for the premiere of Spike Lee's 'Highest 2 Lowest' on Monday — and was rewarded with a surprise: an honorary Palme d'Or. Cannes had flipped around some of its scheduling to accommodate Washington's speedy France trip, which came on his lone off-day while performing 'Othello' in New York. Cannes Film Festival chief Thierry Frémaux surprised Washington with the award before the Monday night premiere. 'This is my brother, right here,' said the film's director, Spike Lee, who passed the award to Washington. 'This is a total surprise for me,' said Washington. The festival usually gives out one or two honorary Palmes each edition — last year, the awardees were Studio Ghibli and George Lucas. Last week, Robert De Niro received one on the festival's opening night. De Niro's award was announced in advance, but surprise prizes aren't unheard of: In 2022, Tom Cruise was presented with a surprise honorary Palme d'Or just before the screening of 'Top Gun: Maverick.' The premiere also had another surprise: Rihanna attended and walked the carpet afterward with partner A$AP Rocky. Earlier this month, she revealed at the Met Gala that she was pregnant with their third child. While the festival's photo calls usually happen the day after a film's premiere, Cannes hosted one for 'Highest 2 Lowest' earlier Monday so Washington could attend. The actor, playfully posing with Lee and co-star A$AP Rocky, showed no signs of jet lag and left once the screening began. 'He told me to tell you: Thank you for the love,' Lee told the crowd after the screening. 'He's on Broadway doing 'Othello,' so it really took a lot for him to fly here. Let's give it up for Denzel Washington, please.' Lee also came to Cannes with obligations back in New York on his mind. He arrived at the film's premiere decked out in Knicks colors and wearing a blue and orange striped suit. Lee ended his brief speech in the Palais by hollering: 'New York Knicks!' That Washington would be able to make the trip had been a sticking point for Cannes. When the festival first announced its lineup last month, 'Highest 2 Lowest' wasn't included. Within hours, however, Lee himself announced the film was heading to Cannes. Representatives for the festival said they had been waiting for confirmation that Washington would attend to walk the red carpet. 'Highest 2 Lowest,' a remake of Akira Kurosawa's 1963 film 'High and Low,' will be released in theaters by A24 on Aug. 22 before streaming on Apple TV+ on Sept. 5. Before handing over the prize to Washington, festival director Thierry Fremaux introduced a montage of Washington's memorable performances including in 'Malcolm X' and 'Mo' Better Blues', both directed by Lee. Clips were also shown from 'Glory', which earned him an Oscar for best supporting actor in 1989, and 'Training Day', for which he won best actor in 2002. The cast of 'Highest 2 Lowest' put on a show on the Cannes red carpet, with Spike Lee in an orange pinstripe suit, round glasses and an orange-and-blue hat, and A$AP Rocky showing off a gold dental piece. Although Cannes usually hands out honorary awards in dedicated ceremonies, it is not unusual for actors to receive them unexpectedly -- as happened with Harrison Ford at the premiere of 'Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny' in 2023. Earlier the veteran actor appeared to have a testy encounter with a photographer on the red carpet. The photographer appeared to grab the actor by the arm as he posed in front of a bank of cameras. Washington shook him off and then pointed his finger at him and appeared to say 'Stop it' a number of times, videos showed. But despite the awkward incident, Washington's mood was no doubt lifted by the rave reviews of him and Lee's film. Agencies

Jennifer Lawrence stirs Oscar talk in Cannes for ‘Die, My Love'
Last year, the Cannes Film Festival produced three best actress nominees at the Oscars. This year's edition may have just supplied another. In Lynne Ramsay's 'Die, My Love,' Jennifer Lawrence and Robert Pattinson play a married couple with a newborn who move into an old country house. In Ramsay's messy and moving marital psychodrama, Lawrence plays an increasingly unhinged young mother named Grace whose postpartum depression reaches darkly hallucinatory extremes. For Lawrence, the 34-year-old mother of two, making 'Die, My Love' was an intensely personal experience. 'It was really hard to separate what I would do as opposed to what (Grace) would do,' Lawrence told reporters on Sunday. 'I had just had my firstborn, and there's not really anything like postpartum. It's extremely isolating. She doesn't have a community. She doesn't have her people. But the truth is, extreme anxiety and extreme depression is isolating, no matter where you are. You feel like an alien.' 'Die, My Love,' which is in competition for the Palme d'Or at Cannes, was one of the most anticipated premieres of the festival. That was owed partly to the widely respect for Ramsey, the Scottish director of 'Ratcatcher' (1999), 'Movern Callar' (2002) and ' You Were Never Really Here' (2017). Lawrence sought her out for the film. 'I've wanted to work with Lynne Ramsay since I saw 'Ratcatcher' and I was like, 'There's no way,'' said Lawrence. 'But we took a chance, and we sent it to her. And I really, I cannot believe that I'm here with you.' In Ramsay's 'Die, My Love,' adapted from Ariana Harwicz's 2017 novel, is disorienting experience, pulsating with animalistic urges and manic spurts of violence. As a portrait of a marriage in trouble, it makes 'Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?' look tame. 'Die, My Love' was quickly snapped up by Mubi on Sunday. In easily the biggest sale of the festival, the indie distributor plunked down $24 million for distribution rights to the film in the US and multiple other territories. Lawrence's performance, in particular, drew the kind of raves in Cannes that tend to lead to Oscar consideration. Lawrence has been nominated four times by the Academy Awards, winning once for 2013's 'Silver Linings Playbook.' Since then, much has changed for Lawrence, including becoming a mother. On Saturday, Lawrence said parenthood has been such an enriching experience for her that, she joked, 'I highly recommend having kids if you want to be an actor.' 'Having children changes everything. It changes your whole life. It's brutal and incredible,' Lawrence said. 'I didn't know that I could feel so much.' 'My job has a lot to do with emotion, and they've opened up the world to me,' she added. 'It's almost like feeling like a blister or something. So sensitive. So they've changed my life, obviously, for the best, and they've changed me creatively.' Pattinson, who recently had his first child with Suki Waterhouse, chimed in that he found having a baby 'gives you the biggest trove of energy and inspiration.' Indo-Asian News Service
