Cam Ward panders to Titans' fanbase while playing Fortnite
April 16 - Former Miami quarterback Cam Ward is the presumptive top overall pick of the 2025 NFL Draft next week.
Now, the Tennessee Titans hold that pick, and Ward appeared to be pandering to the team's fanbase with several tongue-in-cheek responses while participating in a Fortnite session Tuesday night.
On one clip from the YouTube livestream, Ward was asked for his thoughts on some of the top players in the league by position.
"My top four running backs in the league right now? I would say Tony Pollard (and Tyjae) Spears," Ward said of the Titans running backs.
Apparently Philadelphia Eagles star Saquon Barkley, ye of 2,005 rushing yards last season, couldn't crack Ward's list.
Ward also offered his thoughts on the NFL's top wide receivers. He named current Titans wideouts Calvin Ridley and Treylon Burks to go along with superstars Ja'Marr Chase (Cincinnati Bengals) and Justin Jefferson (Minnesota Vikings).
Ward also appeared to curry favor with the fanbase by referencing current Eagles wideout A.J. Brown, who was a former Titan.
"AJ Brown's a dawg, but he's not Calvin Ridley," Ward said.
Ward, who is listed at 6-foot-2 and 223 pounds, threw an NCAA-record 158 touchdown passes. He had a total of 18,184 yards in five seasons at three different schools. He started his career at FCS program Incarnate Word (2020-21), transferred to Washington State (2022-23), then headed to Miami (2024).

Kansas City Chiefs linked with bombshell trade for $57million Cleveland Browns star
After trading away a big-money offensive lineman contract in the form of Joe Thuney, the Kansas City Chiefs have been linked to trade for a different big-money offensive lineman. Thuney, who was earning $16m a year, was moved to the Chicago Bears as Kansas City dealt with something of a cap crunch. But with the Chiefs still in need of some upgrades at offensive line, they could begin looking around the league for a partner. In an article for Pro Football Network, writer Brandon Austin believes the Chiefs could find that help in the form of Cleveland Browns pending free agent Wyatt Teller. Teller, a two-time All-Pro and three-time Pro-Bowler, is entering the final year of a $57million deal and carries a $14.175m cap hit. PFN named Kansas City as a potential trade destination, especially considering the various offensive line issues they experienced last season. The outlet points out that if the Browns move Teller after June 1, they could save $7m in cap room while taking on $19.2m in dead cap through 2028. While Teller does play right guard, the publication thinks his versatility could allow him to slot in on the left side of the line where Kansas City needs more help. But in order to facilitate that, the Chiefs would need to make a trade that would balance their books. Currently, Kansas City has the fourth-least cap space in the NFL at $11.25m. Not only is that roughly $3m short of Teller's contract, it would also severely hamper the Chiefs' ability to make a mid-season move. Of course, this all depends on who or what Kansas City sends to Cleveland as part of this deal. The Chiefs' offensive line issues were clearest in their Super Bowl LIX defeat at the hands of the Philadelphia Eagles - who sacked Kansas City quarterback Patrick Mahomes six times, despite not calling one single blitz.

Super Bowl winner dead after being hospitalized in May from a stroke
Former Dallas Cowboys offensive lineman Tom Rafferty, who won Super Bowl XII with the team, passed away in Windsor, Colorado on Thursday at the age of 70. Rafferty had been hospitalized since early May after suffering a stroke. His daughter, Rachel, confirmed his passing. Across a 14-year NFL career, Rafferty took part in 221 games in the regular season and the playoffs. A native of Syracuse, New York, Rafferty played college football under Joe Paterno at Penn State. He was selected 119th overall in the fourth round of the 1976 by the Cowboys - the only team he ever played for in his career. Rafferty was a steady presence on the Cowboys' offensive line - bridging a gap between two Hall-of-Fame quarterbacks: Roger Staubach and Troy Aikman. The center started two Super Bowls for the Cowboys: Super Bowl XII, when they defeated the Denver Broncos, and Super Bowl XIII, when they lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers. In the 1983 season, Rafferty laid some crucial blocks to help Dallas running back Tony Dorsett set an NFL record with a 99-yard touchdown run. After retiring from football, Rafferty worked in sports equipment sales as a second job. According to the Dallas Morning News, Rafferty managed to teach himself to walk again in middle age after a neurological disorder left him without any feeling below the waist. Rafferty, a member of the Greater Syracuse Hall of Fame, is survived by his wife, daughter, son, and two grandchildren.
