Ericsson Wins 2025 Google Cloud Telecom Partner Award
Ericsson has received the Google Cloud Business Applications Partner of the Year Award for Telecommunications, marking the third consecutive year the company has earned a Google Cloud Partner of the Year recognition. The award highlights Ericsson's consistent innovation and strong collaboration with Google Cloud.
Razvan Teslaru, Head of Strategy, Cloud Software and Services at Ericsson, said the award reflects the success of their ongoing partnership. 'Our close relationship with Google Cloud is based on deep collaboration across our portfolio,' he noted. 'This recognition is a validation of our achievements and a vote of confidence in our work to create new value for customers and the industry.'
Over the past year, Ericsson and Google Cloud have worked together on several initiatives. These include the validation of Ericsson Packet Core on Google Cloud, migration of a BSS stack supporting over 100 million subscribers, and technical exploration of intent-based service management. These projects demonstrate the depth of the collaboration and its real-world impact.
Kevin Ichhpurani, President of Global Partner Ecosystem at Google Cloud, emphasized the significance of the recognition. 'Google Cloud's Partner Awards celebrate partners who deliver innovative solutions and demonstrate a high level of expertise,' he said. 'We are proud to recognize Ericsson as a 2025 Google Cloud Partner Award winner.'
The partnership has enabled joint deployments with global communication service providers. It includes successful onboarding of Ericsson Packet Core, radio optimization through Ericsson Cognitive Software, and progress in 5G Core projects. The migration of Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison's entire BSS stack to Google Cloud is another milestone.
Moreover, Ericsson and Google Cloud are exploring new innovations. One recent effort involved a technical deep dive into intent-based service management. Additionally, with some of the world's largest telecom operators, Ericsson launched Aduna, a venture to scale network API access. Google Cloud is one of the first developer platform partners in this initiative.
The companies are also evolving the business model for telecom networks. They are working together to build mobile core networks on autonomously operated public cloud infrastructure, aiming to enhance scalability and reliability.
In 2025, Ericsson will continue to expand its collaboration with Google Cloud. Both companies aim to unlock new possibilities for the telecommunications industry through ongoing innovation and cloud-native transformation.

They explored AI tools such as Gemini, AI Agents, and NotebookLM. Attendees gained insights into practical cloud solutions and innovation strategies. Mr. Sami Al Shammari, Assistant Undersecretary for Infrastructure and Operations Affairs at MCIT, reported that the collaboration with Google Cloud has significantly contributed to Qatar's digital goals.
