Lucas Bergvall excited about Tottenham's ‘really good squad' after winning start
Bergvall played 80 minutes of Spurs' 3-0 Premier League victory over Burnley on Saturday after being introduced late on in the midweek Super Cup penalty shootout loss to Paris St Germain.

Frank has used different systems in both fixtures and turned to central midfielder Bergvall as a number 10 option in their league opener in the absence of long-term injured duo James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski.

After an assured display against Burnley, Bergvall will hope to be involved in Saturday's trip to Manchester City and insisted confidence was high after a summer where additions Mohammed Kudus and Joao Palhinha had raised the level of the squad.
'We take every game at a time, we want Champions League of course, we want to win everything but every week is a new game so we take it one at a time,' Sweden international Bergvall said.
'We know what we can do. We're a really, really good squad and last year we won 4-0 away (at Man City). It's still a really tough game and we need to be ready.'

Bergvall, 19, almost scored inside 60 seconds against Burnley and despite being the furthest midfielder forward for large periods, he relished the challenge of trying to break down a back-five.
Asked where he preferd to play, Bergvall said: 'I don't know, it's up to the gaffer. I can play both. Whatever he wants.

'It was difficult to find space against a back-five, but I feel like sometimes when I come a bit deeper and drive with the ball up the pitch, it's good.'
The arrival of Bayern Munich loanee Palhinha has added further competition in midfield, but the Spurs youngster believes he can learn from the Portugal international.

'Of course (I can learn), he's played at the top level for many years in Bayern and Fulham, it's really good to get another midfielder with experience,' Bergvall added.
Richarlison's brace, including a sensational scissor kick goal, proved the difference against Burnley.
'That was unbelievable,' Bergvall acknowledged.
'Richy has been really good in pre-season and against PSG as well, even though he didn't score, he was really strong and today he got two goals.'

Even though Bergvall has enjoyed life under Frank so far, he was eager not to compare the Danish coach to Ange Postecoglou, who brought the Djurgarden player to the club and placed enormous faith in him last season.
Bergvall added: 'It's been really good. You saw the final against PSG, we lost but it was a really good game from us so it's been a really good start to the season.
'It's difficult to compare, I don't want to compare manager to manager, but I feel like we've had a really good start, working hard every day and trying to get the team together. It's been really good.'

Parker revealed: 'Broja needs some more work and we need to tread really carefully, try get him up to speed.
'I don't want to rush anything with him. To come into the team, you need to be physically at your optimum. We'll see where we are next weekend (against Sunderland) with him.'

Max Aarons remains confident Rangers can secure European passage
Max Aarons believes Rangers' 3-1 Champions League play-off defeat by Club Brugge should not result in 'panic stations' and can be turned around in the second leg. Ibrox turned its anger on the Light Blues when they fell three goals behind after only 20 minutes on Tuesday night with Romeo Vermant, Jorne Spileers and Brandon Mechele on the scoresheet for the accomplished visitors. Brazilian striker Danilo pulled a goal back four minutes into the second half but there was no complete comeback and the Gers face a monumental task in the second leg in Belgium next Wednesday night, albeit first they face a tricky trip to St Mirren in the William Hill Premiership on Sunday. Aarons, the 25-year-old right-back who signed on loan from Premier League club Bournemouth this summer, acknowledged the fans frustration which has been building over the years with Old Firm rivals Celtic dominating the domestic scene and said: 'There's a lot of frustration from before and you can feel that. 'I understand it, but we're trying to build something here, with seven (eight) games into the season and that is frustrating but it has to come from us, we've got to give them something to grab on to, but we are trying to build something. 'I believe this team will be successful. I really do believe that. 'So it's not panic stations and I think we go there and we put in a real performance. 'I want to be playing Champions League football and I'm sure the boys do as well, so we'll give it everything. 'Obviously the first two goals are disappointing and so early on in the game. I can understand why the fans would be frustrated, but like I said, it's a two-leg game. 'It's over two sets of 90-plus minutes and having a two goal deficit, it's not the end of the world. 'I believe we can go there and win, we have so much quality in this team. 'When the boys play without that pressure and we play free, I feel like we can hurt anyone. 'There's a full belief in myself, in the team. There's a full belief that we can go and win these games.' Looking at the first task in hand, Sunday's game against the Buddies, Aarons said: 'Of course, it's must win every game for this club is a must win, fully respect that. 'This is a huge club, huge demands, and that's why I've chosen to come here and I want to achieve success. 'We're in August and it has to start quickly and we have to go and win at St Mirren for sure. 'But in terms of this game against Club Brugge, we can turn this around for sure. West Ham vs Chelsea preview, team news and predicted lineup
The Irons welcome rivals Chelsea to the London Stadium with both sides failing to pick up a win on the opening day of the season Chelsea will be looking to get their first win of the season quickly after fluffling their lines against Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge last weekend when they make the short trip across London to face West Ham. The Blues could only secure a draw to the Eagles last weekend in their Premier League and were left to rue missed chances too. The Irons will equally want to get points on the board after they were humbled by newcomers Sunderland who opened their first top-tier match in eight years with a convincing 3-0 win at the Stadium of Light, much to Graham Potter's frustration. While still the opening day of the season, the defeat left a stinging hangover to the issues West Ham fans saw weekly on the pitch last season leaving a lot more to be desired. As a result of that defeat, the odds on the Hammers to be relegated slashed drastically as the pressure intensifies for former Blues boss Potter. Whereas Chelsea will be looking to finding their rhythm again after a successful Club World Cup but as many have pointed out a busy summer tournament would have disrupted any sort of pre-season preparation with the risk of fatigue showing so early on in the season. West Ham vs Chelsea Team News No changes for West Ham in terms of availability as Crysencio Summerville (thigh) is closing in on a return to action but having missed the whole of pre-season and last week's opening day defeat, that return will not be anytime soon while George Earthy (ankle) and Luis Guilherme (shoulder) continue their recovery from their respective injuries. It means the pressure continues to be added on Graham Potter as he remains the favourite to get the first sacking of the Premier League season with the bookies. The Blues will continue to be without several key players ahead of their trip to the London Stadium. Benoit Badiashile (muscle) and Romeo Lavia (muscle) remain focused on a September return while Levi Colwill (ACL) is ruled out for the majority of the season at least. Nicolas Jackson is available after serving his suspension but growing speculation regarding his future puts a cloud of doubt as to whether he will be part of the matchday squad. West Ham vs Chelsea Predicted Lineup West Ham: Hermansen; Todibo, Kilman, Aguerd; Wan-Bissaka, Alvarez, Soucek, Diouf; Bowen Fullkrug, Paqueta West Ham vs Chelsea Betting Offer If you are on the lookout for the latest free bet offers, then look no further. Former Arsenal striker who sold for just £4m now worth more than Viktor Gyokeres
Arsenal were desperate to sign Viktor Gyokeres, with Mikel Arteta's men crying out for a goalscorer - but they could've saved themselves millions if they'd kept around a player now worth £64m Viktor Gyokeres struggled during his debut for Arsenal against Manchester United on Sunday. His lacklustre performance was made even more glaring when compared to Mika Biereth, a striker the Gunners sold last year for just £4million, who is now valued higher than their new Swedish forward. Last month, Gyokeres, 27, moved to the Emirates Stadium from Sporting CP in a deal worth £ 55million plus £8.5m in add-ons. Fans hailed his arrival as the final piece of the jigsaw, with Arsenal's lack of a proven goalscorer costing them dearly in recent title races. But Gyokeres' display at Old Trafford suggested otherwise. He managed just 21 touches, completed nine passes and failed to get a single shot off before being subbed off for Kai Havertz after just 60 minutes. Roy Keane criticised the Swedish international's performance, insisting he "didn't look sharp", a sentiment echoed by Daniel Sturridge. "He didn't look sharp. He had moments where he showed his physicality, but he wasn't clinical enough in the final third," Keane said after the game, with Sturridge adding: "The Premier League is a different beast. He's coming from a league where he had more time and space, and today, he was rushed into decisions." It's fair to say that there's a significant amount of pressure on Gyokeres to perform and justify the hype, especially considering Arsenal spent half the summer pursuing his signature. If Gyokeres fails to deliver, the Arsenal board may rue their decision to let Biereth go for next to nothing last summer, particularly as he is now valued at more than Gyokeres is. The London-born Dane, who currently plays for AS Monaco, is worth £64m according to CIES Football Observatory - a figure higher than the sum Arsenal shelled out for Gyokeres. Biereth was with Arsenal for three years after signing from Fulham in 2021. He netted 12 goals for the Under 21s in his debut season at the academy, matching first-team top scorer Bukayo Saka. He was included in the senior matchday squad four times - all in January 2022 - but didn't get a chance to play in any of those matches. These included the FA Cup third round loss to Nottingham Forest, both legs of the Carabao Cup semi-final defeat against Liverpool and the goalless draw with Burnley in the Premier League. However, the forward never got another opportunity. He had loan spells at RKC Waalwijk, Motherwell and Strum Graz before Arsenal decided to offload Biereth last summer. He then signed for Strum for just £4m. After finding the back of the net 14 times in 25 appearances during the first half of the 2024/25 season, Monaco decided to snap up Biereth for £13m in January. The 22-year-old maintained his impressive form into the latter part of the campaign, scoring 13 in 16 league games for his new club. Biereth was in the starting line-up for Monaco in their Ligue 1 opener on Saturday but failed to score as he was substituted in the 80th minute in his side's 3-1 victory against Le Havre. Monaco, who are back in the Champions League, face Lille in their next league game on Sunday.
