Gwyneth Paltrow joins Astronomer: Here's a look at her love story with Coldplay singer Chris Martin
A
Coldplay
concert is always a full-house and social media viral. Not only for the band's talented artistry but also for their heart-melting theatrics. However, on July 16, 2025, the band's concert at Gillette Stadium in Boston went viral for a reason known to anyone who's on the internet.
A video of former CEO Andy Byron and ex-HR head Kristin Cabot being cosy with each other exposed their cheating scandal to the world and, ironically, their partners. Now, in a surprising yet strategic turn of events, Astronomer, the AI start-up where the duo worked, has hired
Gwyneth Paltrow
as their 'temporary spokesperson'.
Why is it so surprising? Well, the 'Iron Man' actress is the former wife of Coldplay's lead singer,
Chris Martin
. Here's a look at their love life.

Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin reportedly met backstage at a Coldplay concert in October 2002, three weeks after the actress lost her father, Bruce Paltrow. When asked by the BBC if they were going to tie the knot, Paltrow replied, "I hope so. Ask him."
A year later, on December 3, 2003, the couple confirmed that they were expecting their first child together. Two days later, a source close to the actress told PEOPLE that they had already tied the knot in a secret ceremony on December 5, 2003.
The couple welcomed their first child, a daughter, on May 14, 2004, whom they named Apple Blythe Alison Martin. And two years later, on January 13, 2006, they confirmed their second pregnancy, a boy named Moses Martin, after the band's song "Moses" that Martin wrote for his wife, whom they welcomed in April.
In the following years, the couple gave many credits to each other for being great partners. A year after Moses turned one, Paltrow credited Martin for realising she had postpartum depression.
In 2011, Martin described his marriage to his wife as "winning the lottery."

In 2013, during an interview with Self, Paltrow acknowledged their marital challenges, sharing that "You're not learning anything unless you're having the difficult conversations."
"Sometimes when you get clear about who you are, others get less comfortable because they liked who you were. It's changed my marriage, too, but he's up for the challenge," she added.
A year later, on March 25, 2014, Martin and Paltrow announced on the latter's Goop website that they were separating through a post titled, "Conscious Uncoupling."
"It is with hearts full of sadness that we have decided to separate," the pair wrote. "We have come to the conclusion that while we love each other very much, we will remain separate. We are, however, and always will be a family, and in many ways we are closer than we have ever been."
"We have always conducted our relationship privately, and we hope that as we consciously uncouple and co-parent, we will be able to continue in the same manner," the announcement concluded.
Friends forever
However, in July, they were spotted vacationing together in the Bahamas and Martin even rang in his 42nd birthday with his former wife. "We're very close," Martin explained in an interview with Valentine in the Morning. "There's a lot of love.
There's no scandal."
In 2015, the couple finalised their divorce and four years later, in 2019, Paltrow opened up on her divorce with the singer, saying it left her feeling defeated.
"I think at the time, I was in a lot of pain," she said to Dax Shepard's podcast Armchair Expert. "It felt like such a failure to me. It was so hard, and I was so worried about my kids."
A year later, in an essay with British Vogue, she also added how the former couple had spared no effort to fight for their marriage and family.
"We just didn't quite fit together. But man, did we love our children," she wrote. "Between the day that I knew and the day we finally relented to the truth, we tried everything. We did not want to fail. We didn't want to let anyone down. We desperately didn't want to hurt our children.
We didn't want to lose our family."
Though divorced, Martin and Paltrow have remained friends through it all, with the latter even befriending his former fiancée, Dakota Johnson. They are one of the few Hollywood pairs who take being "friends with ex" very seriously.

Gwyneth Paltrow's Astronomer paycheck may have run into millions, biographer reveals
Gwyneth Paltrow's brief but buzzy stint as the face of crisis-hit tech firm Astronomer has sparked fresh headlines over how much she was paid. While neither the company nor the actor-entrepreneur has disclosed official figures, Paltrow's biographer claims the paycheck may have reached 'millions.' In a video posted on July 26, journalist and author Amy Odell, who wrote Gwyneth, said Paltrow's partnership with Astronomer was short but lucrative. 'She was likely paid in the millions,' Odell said, noting that this was in line with other high-value endorsements the Shakespeare in Love star has taken on in recent years. Among them: a $1.6 million appearance fee at the Red Sea International Film Festival in Saudi Arabia and a reported $1.25 million partnership with Swarovski. Paltrow also attended the SKIMS x Swarovski launch last year, showcasing jewellery reportedly valued at up to $250,000. According to Odell, she's previously earned similar figures for endorsing brands like Copper Fit. Astronomer, a cloud data platform, drew attention earlier this month when its former CEO Andy Byron and HR head Kristen Cabot were caught in an alleged affair on the Coldplay concert jumbotron in Boston, appearing close and then ducking out of the frame. The incident went viral, eventually leading to both executives stepping down. For crisis management, Astronomer brought on Paltrow — who is Coldplay frontman Chris Martin's ex-wife — as a temporary spokesperson. In a video posted by the company on July 25, Paltrow addressed the public with humour, saying: 'I've been hired on a very temporary basis to speak on behalf of the 300+ employees at Astronomer.' She sidestepped the controversy and instead promoted the company's core services in data workflow automation. Astronomer's new CEO, Pete DeJoy, later addressed the media storm on LinkedIn, noting that while the attention was unexpected, the company remained focused and resilient.

How much does Gwyneth Paltrow get paid for partnerships? Biography writer shares paycheck details after actress becomes temp spokesperson for tech firm
Recently, during one of Coldplay 's concerts, two high-ranking officials from a giant tech firm ended up getting exposed for their affair. The company has been making headlines since then, and to address the rumours and comments, they ended up hiring the band's lead singer's ex-wife! Hollywood star and entrepreneur Gwyneth Paltrow was hired by the firm as a temporary spokesperson for the company to talk about the recent comments and promote the company's initiatives. How much did Gwyneth Paltrow get paid for the deal Recently, biographer and journalist Amy Odell took to her social media platforms to share a video making claims that she is well aware of how much the 'Iron Man' actress was paid for the temporary job, along with other brand and partnership deals over the past few years. Odell is the one who wrote a biography about Chris Martin 's ex-wife. In her comment, she shared that Paltrow was possibly given the amount that stood somewhere 'in the millions' for her job as a spokesperson for the tech firm to do damage control. About other deals and partnerships In the video, she even shared how the actress was paid for other jobs as well, including an appearance at a film festival in Saudi Arabia, for which she had managed to get paid 1.6 million USD! She also had a partnership with one of the biggest diamond jewellery suppliers in the world, and was paid 1.25 million USD just to wear their exclusive ornaments at different public events. What happened at Coldplay's concert During their Jumbotron, where random people are focused on using one of the cameras present at the venue, the CEO and his HR head were both exposed after being caught dancing along to the music while holding each other. The affair was exposed on the big screen and sparked a lot of debate online. Since the incident, Andy Byron and Kristen Cabot both have stepped away from their positions within the company.
