
Police throw the book at erratic driver in Grey Highlands
Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received multiple reports from concerned drivers about a vehicle driving erratically northbound along Highway 10 in Grey Highlands on Monday at around 2 p.m.
Police say witnesses described the vehicle as weaving dangerously through traffic and causing damage to several vehicles.
Police located the driver on Highway 6-10, north of Chatsworth and he was taken into custody.
A 31-year-old Etobicoke man has been charged with the following offences:
Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle
Flight from peace officer
Operation while impaired
Two counts of assaulting peace officer
Fail to display two licence plates
Drive motor vehicle - perform stunt
Fail to stop for police
The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on August 27.

Taxi strikes, kills pedestrian in downtown Vancouver
The site of a fatal crash involving a taxi is seen in downtown Vancouver on Friday, Aug. 15. A taxi driver struck and killed a pedestrian in downtown Vancouver Friday night, according to police. The victim, a 55-year-old man, was hit by a Blacktop Taxi at the intersection of Smithe and Cambie streets just after 10 p.m., the Vancouver Police Department said in a statement Saturday. Special constables could strike at University of Windsor if deal not reached by month's end

55-year-old man dies after being struck by taxi in downtown Vancouver
A man has been killed after being hit by a taxi in downtown Vancouver on Friday night, police say. Vancouver police say the collision happened at the intersection of Smithe and Cambie streets just after 10 p.m. PT on Friday. There, they say a 55-year-old man was hit by a Black Top Taxi vehicle, and died after being taken to hospital. Police say the taxi driver suffered minor injuries and remained at the scene. The exact circumstances of the crash are currently being investigated by police. They're asking anyone with more information, including dashcam footage from the area, to contact them.
