Eric Lauer struck out seven in six innings as the AL East-leading Blue Jays won for the 21st time in their past 25 home games. Toronto is 34-16 at home.
Jeff Hoffman finished for his 23rd save in 27 chances.
The Blue Jays trailed 2-0 entering the bottom of the sixth against right-hander Logan Webb, but turned it around as five of the first six batters had hits.
Webb (9-7) allowed four runs and a season-high 11 hits in six innings.
Willy Adames hit a pair of solo home runs for the Giants, his 13th and 14th. It was his ninth career multihomer game.
Lauer (5-2) allowed two runs and two hits in six innings. The left-hander retired the first 13 batters in order before Adames homered in the fifth.
Adames cut the gap to 4-3 with a two-out homer off Chad Green in the seventh but Heineman replied with a two-run blast off Ryan Walker in the eighth, his third.
Bo Bichette led off the bottom of the sixth with a ground-ball single and Barger doubled him to third. One out later, Ernie Clement hit an RBI single and Wagner followed with a two-run double. Heineman capped the rally with an RBI double.
The Blue Jays are 11-3 in July.
Giants LHP Robbie Ray (9-3, 2.65) was scheduled to start against his former team Sunday the series finale. RHP José Berríos (5-4, 3.75) was set to pitch for the Blue Jays.

The New York Yankees have won the David Bednar sweepstakes. The closer was acquired by the Yankees in a trade with the Pittsburgh Pirates, ESPN's Jeff Passan reported on Thursday. The Yankees were one of several teams linked to Bednar, including the Texas Rangers. MLB Network's Jon Heyman reported that top catching prospect Rafael Flores plus two other players are part of the return that will go to Pittsburgh. Bednar is under team control for another year. The 30-year-old had a rough start to the 2025 season and was optioned to Triple-A in April. But since his return to MLB, the right-hander has been a man on a mission. The Boston Red Sox reportedly played hardball at the 2025 MLB trade deadline. In return, they got a pair of mid-level trades that left fans grumbling. On Monday, former MLB general manager Jim Bowden broke down his trade deadline superlatives for The Athletic. The Red Sox did not make out favorably. Of note, Bowden identified the Red Sox as the team 'that asked for too much in trades,' citing multiple MLB general managers. That led to another undesirable superlative for Boston: 'The fan base that heard crickets.' 'The front office publicly built up their trade deadline, but then didn't make any trades to move the needle in their quest to beat out the Blue Jays and Yankees,' Bowden wrote. Bowden did give Boston some credit for its hot stretch after the trade deadline. However, that hasn't quite quelled the discontent from fans who may once again feel burned by the front office promising to go all-out to build a contender – only to back down due to the asking price. Red Sox chief baseball officer Craig Breslow says he's aware of the discontent from fans. He maintains that the team went into the deadline with the intention of doing something big. 'I understand the frustration and disappointment from our fan base and walking out of the deadline without making a big splash, especially relative to what some of the other teams have been able to do,' Breslow said Friday on WEEI. 'But that doesn't change what our intentions were going into this deadline, what we were willing to do and offer.'
