Every new feature in EA FC 26 Clubs including Archetypes, skill tree removal and FUT-like cards
Significant changes are coming across the board in EA FC 26, but Clubs may be getting some of the most substantial changes of them all.
After weeks of anticipation, we were lucky enough to get our hands on EA FC 26 at the EA Sports HQ in Vancouver, Canada, and as well as playing the game for the first time, I found out all there is to know about the new game, including Clubs. Clubs is one, if not the most, social game mode in EA Sports FC, but it always seems to get left behind when it comes to new features.
When crossplay was added in FIFA 23, Clubs was surprisingly left out, but the tide has turned in recent years, with EA going big on Clubs changes in EA FC 26. From Ultimate Team-like cards to a new way of upgrading your pro, here are all of the changes coming to Clubs in EA FC 26.
EA FC 26 Clubs overhaul – but is it becoming pay-to-win?
In my opinion, the biggest change of all is that the skill tree is being removed in EA FC 26, with a new feature called Archetypes replacing it. Archetypes define how your player grows in Clubs, with each Archetype having signature PlayStyles, gameplay perks, unique attributes and weaknesses, along with three specialisations.
There are 13 archetypes in total to choose from, with 39 different specialisations available to personalise your progress. For example, if you choose the Finisher Archetype, you'll start with the low driven shot and first touch playstyle, and these can evolve to PlayStyle Plus' as the game goes on.
These are the 13 Archetypes that will be available at launch, both in Clubs and Player Career Mode:
Offensive Archetypes
Magician
Finisher
Target
Support Archetypes
Recyclier
Maestro
Creator
Spark
Defence Archetypes
Progressor
Boss
Engine
Marauder
Goalkeeper Archetypes
Shot Stopper
Sweeper Keeper
None of the Archetypes are positionally locked, so you can use all of these for any position, meaning you still get a feeling of freedom when building your pro. Of course, this excludes goalkeepers. Archetypes are also based on greats of the game, so you may notice some similarities between how your pro plays and a real-life footballing icon.
As you play games in Clubs, you'll of course level up, and in EA FC 26, this will give you rewards that can boost your Archetypes attributes. There will also be chapters in Clubs that will run alongside the FC Season progress in Ultimate Team. During each chapter, you may reach an attribute threshold where you can no longer upgrade a certain attribute, but this is when, instead of improving your stats, you then start to unlock playstyles
Out of the 39 specialisations, you can choose three in total, with these offering big stat boosts to your pro. You can change your specialisation whenever you want. You will also be given an Archetype card in Clubs in EA FC 26, with this visual feature similar to Ultimate Team cards. The card will appear in the menus as well as before and after each game, and as you progress, your card can upgrade from Bronze, Silver, Gold, and even to Icon status.
Your Archetypes card will feature an image of the pro you have created, along with stats, which could include your level and attribute statistics. With these cards being introduced, some of the new rewards include skins to apply to your Archetypes card, with cool-looking designs set to be available.
Every chapter, the game will allow for more improvements thanks to Archetypes, with more rewards available than usual through live events and Objectives. These include more PlayStyles, bigger attribute boosts and vanity items.
Another big reward available by completing live events is XP multipliers. XP multipliers do what they say on the tin; you will earn more XP quicker with these items. These are in place to ensure that if you were to start playing Clubs in, say, February, you can catch up quicker to the higher rating and not be left behind.
But, along with this comes a downside. FC Points can now be spent in Clubs to purchase XP multipliers, so you may be able to fast-track your way to the higher ratings by putting money into the game. Let's hope this isn't the case and there's some sort of protection in place to prevent this.
New live events are coming to Clubs Rush in EA FC 26, based around FC Seasons. These are high-stakes knockout tournaments where you can play up to four rounds solo or with a team. By completing these live events, not only will you earn progress in Clubs, but also towards the FC Season Objectives.
There are also new House Rule modes available for Rush to keep things fresh. Some of the examples we know are Rugby Rush, where standing tackles are instead over the top shoulder barges with no fouls. We were also told you can play in extreme weather conditions, something that could make things really interesting.
A change that's been demanded for years has been granted, so in EA FC 26, you will no longer be restricted to one club at a time. Now, you can be part of up to three teams at once, and you can easily swap between teams in the menus. The 11v11 team selection page has been updated visually, with this lobby now extremely similar, if not the same, as Ultimate Team.
The level of the AI players has always been a complaint for the Clubs faithful, so now, managers can use their facility budget to improve the attributes of AI teammates rather than just the pros in the club. Goalkeepers have been overhauled in FC 26, so now, if you are a goalkeeper in Clubs, there are more controls and in-game commands, giving you more to do during the game.
Fatigue has been updated, meaning there is no long-term fatigue for your pros. So, if your pro has 94 pace and picks up the ball in the 88th minute, he will have full stamina, meaning the quick players will always feel quick.
The match rating system has been updated. Now, your rating will be evaluated on how well you play to your dedicated tactical role, which then decides how much XP you get. For example, if you are a left-midfielder whose tactical role is to play as a balanced winger but you constantly sit at striker and score three goals, despite the hat-trick, your rating could be low due to the neglect shown towards tactics.
EA has expanded the quick-chat feature in EA FC 26 as well. When introduced in FC 25, just four messages were available, but it was a hit, so EA has increased this to 16 in FC 26. And lastly, if you pre-order any version of FC 26, you can unlock an additional Archetype slot in Clubs without needing to use Clubs Coins, while you will also earn a consumable for double Archetype XP for 20 games.

Battlefield 6 is already better than Call Of Duty in terms of one major feature
EA keeps saying all the right things, as fans approve of the latest annoucement for this year's Battlefield 6. While Call Of Duty has always been the dominant military shooter, EA's Battlefield series has come close to challenging it on occasion – even if those days are a while ago now. EA clearly wants this year's Battlefield 6 to renew the rivalry with Call Of Duty, including giving it an autumn launch window, and so far it seems to be working, with many Call Of Duty fans expressing an interest in jumping ship. But Battlefield fans don't necessarily want the series to be exactly the same as Call Of Duty, far from it (especially when it comes to potential crossover skins) and EA has just made clear another important difference. In a statement to PC Gamer, EA has confirmed that while Battlefield 6 sports a hefty file size of 80GB, that's only for the complete experience and you can actually pick and choose which portions of the game to download. For instance, if you only care about the single-player campaign, then you can download that part of the game without the online multiplayer. Or vice versa if you have zero interest in solo play. 'There will be a shared base package, and then you can separately choose to install the main components (i.e. single0player, multiplayer, etc.),' EA explained, with the base package expected to come in at a much smaller 55GB. Sign up to the GameCentral newsletter for a unique take on the week in gaming, alongside the latest reviews and more. Delivered to your inbox every Saturday morning. This isn't a new idea and is something Activision's been doing with the Call Of Duty games in recent years, in response to how much storage space they had begun to take up. However, the install sizes for Black Ops 6 are much bigger, at 128GB for the whole thing or 78GB if you already have COD HQ and Warzone installed. So Battlefield 6 is going to be considerably smaller. 'Never thought I'd see the day that EA makes pro-consumer choices. No forced launcher, staying true to IP, and putting in quality-of-life improvements. This is a great start, hopefully they keep it up,' writes one fan on Reddit. Another fan adds that customisable installs 'need to become the norm now if compression is going to go out the window,' highlighting things like language packs and 4K graphics packages that should be optional. 'It's crazy that they are saying all the right things and after that reveal event everyone who played it is backing it up,' says another, referencing the recently revealed multiplayer gameplay, which is so far making a good first impression among the community. Some still hold reservations, though, with one fan suspecting that Battlefield 6's file size will balloon with inevitable updates: '55GB at start and after 2 seasons 100GB.' More Trending Others also have difficulty believing EA's promises. 'They're saying a lot of pro-consumer/pro-Battlefield fan stuff but let's see them DO these things' says one, while another adds, ' Guys, don't believe anything EA says. The launch and following months is what will show the truth.' They're not entirely wrong. While a new game can make a very strong first impression, interest can quickly wane if certain problems aren't addressed. Capcom's Monster Hunter Wilds, for instance, seemed like a future classic when it launched this February, but while it's still the best-selling game of the year overall, sales have sharply declined since. This can partially be attributed to fan frustration with how Monster Hunter Wilds runs on PC and, as a result, not only has the player count dipped, but the game's being outsold by much older Resident Evil and Devil May Cry games. A niche product that used to be a niche market has over the past few years or decades become a billion-dollar industry in the world of e-commerce. As customers shift their preferences towards greater convenience and technology-based solutions, grocery industry-related businesses will need to adjust in order to survive. Businesses that have the ambition of exploiting this market have made it a necessity to work alongside a grocery delivery app development company. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad Whether or not to invest in grocery delivery app development is not the question; instead, one should ask how to create a solution that can support the changing needs of both a consumer and a business. In order to assist the business owners and decision-makers in this speeding world, we have researched the recent evolutions that are truly influencing the future of grocery delivery applications. AI and automation, sustainability, and data privacy are some of the trends to be aware of when deciding how to create a grocery delivery app that can cut through all this noise, and these trends can influence your decisions. Grocery delivery apps are no longer a niche product Once, grocery delivery was regarded as a luxury or an add-on service to a limited number of customers. Nowadays, the situation has changed as on-demand grocery delivery has become a standard amongst many people. This behavior change on the part of the consumers is fueling the growth of applications that provide quick access to goods that have quick and efficient delivery processes. One of the primary drivers that led to the massive growth of the on-demand grocery app development services is the growing appetite for convenience. With people getting used to the immediate provision of services such as food delivery or ride-sharing, customers now demand the same level of service provision in terms of grocery providers. Statistapredicts the United States ' grocery shopping market alone will hit the 98.1 billion mark by 2025, as compared to 26.7 billion recorded in 2020. This rapid growth demonstrates the massive opportunity for businesses looking to enter or expand in this sector. In business, a quick and efficient delivery service provided via an Instacart-like app is a necessity that could lead to the competitiveness of the business. But to create such an app, one has to have a smooth user interface with systems to connect it with logistics, stock, and payment in real-time as well. Here, the help of a professional in grocery delivery app development can be of great value. They assist in developing apps that can be used to manage orders, deliveries, and who can connect with business systems. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad With the increased sophistication of the grocery delivery apps, automation, and AI are proving to be most prominent. Such technologies allow business enterprises to accelerate operations, cut on expenses, and offer a better customer experience. AI-Powered Personalization: AI-Powered Personalization: Goal personalisation Clients are no longer happy to be provided with generic shopping experiences. They are seeking personal recommendations of products, based on their own preferences, transactions, and browsing. Algorithms will be able to analyze this information and provide personal recommendations, which will be more interesting and relevant in shopping. Automated Delivery Routes: Having an efficient delivery is an important ingredient in any grocery delivery app. Through AI-powered logistics, groceries delivery companies can always optimize the actual times of their delivery to both minimize the time of delivery and boost operational efficiency. Studies indicate that AI has the potential to achieve as much as a 30 % reduction of the delivery cost by optimizing fuel use and increasing the optimal route planning. Smart Inventory Management: AI is also changing the way grocery stores manage their inventory. With the help of AI, it is possible to analyze the purchases and anticipate which items are likely to sell out first, and tell managers to replenish the stock. This saves on wastages, better stock availability, and the right products at the right time, deliverable. The incorporation of these technologies in this solution of a grocery app would not only increase efficient operations but also capitalize on the heightened desire of the larger number of consumers to be served quickly and more precisely. With the evolving tastes of consumers, there is no looking back, and businesses are required to concentrate even in the future on the aspect of delivering a smooth, friendly experience. The design of user experience (UX) also determines the key factor of customers who are engaging with a grocery delivery app, and having a negative UX would lead to missing sales and unhappy customers. A recent partnership in Scotland that offers free grocery delivery to thousands of young people exemplifies how companies are meeting the growing demand for convenience and affordability. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad The researchers state that 70 % of customers abandon an application in case it is tedious or it is buggy. To prevent it, grocery delivery applications must be user-friendly, have an appealing interface, and be intuitive. Aspects such as one-click ordering, convenient reordering of those items that are frequently bought, and smooth payment facilities can contribute to the overall user experience. Besides, real-time tracking of orders has emerged as a necessity. Customers are interested in being able to track the point of their order in the chain of delivery. Just by giving them transparency, not only will customers be highly satisfied with the service the company provides, but also, the customers will be able to come back again. With an increasingly competitive marketplace, an accessible but effortless user experience on the app may become the defining factor between being a successful or a failed company among the numerous grocery delivery services. Sustainability is no longer a buzzword; it is turning into an important consideration for consumers. Various consumers are increasingly seeking to patronise businesses that emphasise environmentally friendly operations. Indeed, a study conducted by Nielsen concluded that 2/3 of consumers all over the world have been shown to be ready to pay even higher prices when it comes to purchasing products produced by brands that can be trusted to practice sustainability. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad This trend is compelling companies operating in the grocery delivery business to consider using alternatives that are environmentally friendly. The sustainable practices that are being incorporated into grocery delivery apps include: Eco-Friendly Delivery Options: Many businesses are exploring alternative delivery methods, such as electric vehicles or bicycles, to reduce their carbon footprint. Offering consumers the option to select eco-friendly delivery methods could be a key differentiator for your grocery app. Many businesses are exploring alternative delivery methods, such as electric vehicles or bicycles, to reduce their carbon footprint. This not only benefits the environment but also leads to cost savings for businesses. Building sustainability into your grocery app solution can help your business appeal to a more eco-conscious customer base while simultaneously reducing operational costs. Data security and data privacy are becoming the burning questions of businessdeveloping grocery delivery apps because more and more online transactions occur. Consumers must feel sure that their personal and payment details are secure and safe. In an analyst report by PwC, it has been found that 87 % of consumers have claimed to have stopped using an application because they felt that their data is at risk. In order to mitigate these fears, it is critical that a business collaborates with a grocery delivery app development company that has insight into the value of data security. To make sure that the users trust it, it is necessary to implement such things as end-to-end encryption, two-factor authentication, and compliance with the likes of GDPR. Having transparent privacy policies, as well as putting potential customers in charge of managing the privacy terms, is one of the pivoting aspects of creating a user base that would benefit the platform in the long run. The integration of a grocery delivery app with the current systems of the retailer is one of the most important issues when planning how to build a successful app. No matter what aspect it is, such as inventory, payment processing, or order fulfilment, the matter of seamless integration means an efficient and effective application. An example is linking your application with an established point-of-sale (POS) system that can track your inventory in real time, thus eliminating the cost of stock-outs and ordering excessively. Similarly, having a payment gateway that is credible will make transactions easy without complications for the customers. Touching on a grocery delivery app development company, it is possible to have your app properly incorporated into your retail system to facilitate more efficient work and happier customers. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad The grocery delivery app development company is experiencing high-speed development due to the changing needs of the customer, technological innovations, and the growing necessity. The companies that want to find success in this industry must be able to keep pace with the changes, use the most innovative technological solutions, and focus on making customers satisfied. But with the help of the right grocer delivery app development company, organizations can use these trends to be creative and bring out solutions that can not only meet the expectations of the customers but exceed them. The future of grocery delivery apps seems to be great, and the major success factor is to be ready to change according to the changing circumstances.

Hibs anthem goes global as fans' travelling 'banger' branded world's most catchy
Hibs fans have adopted a new anthem for the season and it's being heard on the other side of the world. Sign up to our Hibs football newsletter Sign up Thank you for signing up! Hibs fans have created a catchy tune for their travels - and it's just the way those abroad like it, uh huh, uh huh. The Hibees ran FC Midjytland close in their Europa League second round qualifying round tie, losing in extra time at Easter Road despite a valiant effort. Now they take on Partizan Belgrade of Serbia in the Conference League's third qualifying round, where the victor takes on either Legia Warsaw or AEK Larnaca at the play-off stage. In Denmark, Hibs fans made plenty of noise with their new song. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad Famed for Sunshine on Leith at Easter Road, KC and The Sunshine Band's 'That's the Way (I Like It)' has been adapted with a Hibs twist. It has caught attention online and now in New Zealand. Seven Sharp, a daily news show in the country, run a Sports Countdown segment. That chant has found its way onto the agenda as it's given a title of world's catchiest. Why 'Hibs Away' chant has caught on It's stated: 'We love a good football chant on Monday's Sports Countdown and we might have found the very best one. Well, it's at least the most catchy. Edinburgh's Hibernian team went to Denmark for a big game in the UEFA Europa League. Hibernian, or Hibs for short, love to play away as when they do, they get to sing this banger.' It then cuts to Hibs fans singing the anthem away at Midtjylland before cutting back in with 'Not surprisingly, it's titled 'Hibs away, uh huh, uh huh, I like it.' It's not the only time the Hibs anthem has cut through into the minds of those abroad, as Denmark got a taste of the tune first hand. Danish publication Indkast also brought the catchy song to the attention of its viewership, with Hibs fans praised for making a mighty racket in their back yard. They stated after the 1-1 first leg draw: 'It took a David Beckham-like free kick to save FC Midtjylland. There's no mistaking it: European football is back in Herning. The first episode is called Hibernian – a Scottish team that at first glance looks like FCM's arch-rivals from Viborg in their green-and-white jerseys. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad What Denmark thought of Hibs 'And they have a favourite song, written by KC and the Sunshine Band back in 1975. It plays over and over again. From my usual spot in Herning – the regular eatery I always end up at when there are European matches – you can follow the travelling fans... and eat a portion of Bolognese while listening to their favourite chants. And if anyone knows how to contribute with atmosphere and mood, it's the Scots. 'They don't hold back, especially with their vocal cords. This applies both in the city centre and at the stadium, where we are now moving. FCM primarily tries to cross – not exactly the sharpest weapon against a Scottish team where the players learned to head before they learned to talk. But then came the set piece that was needed. 'Aral Simsir sent a free kick into the goal after 71 minutes – a kick that David Beckham would envy. It finally made the Scots rest their voices for a moment. That's all there is to it. And when the game ends, the Hibernian fans can once again sing: 'That's the way – aha aha – I like it – aha aha' with their players. They don't care about FCM's 74 percent possession and an xG of 1.51 against their own of 0.48.'
