Michelle Obama shuts down divorce rumours once and for all: ‘We're never going to quit'
Michelle Obama has stomped the rumour mills churning the divorce news with former President Barack Obama during a recent IMO (In My Opinion) podcast appearance with her brother, Craig Robinson, and host Steven Bartlett.
'If I were having problems with my husband, everybody would know about it,' Michelle joked, adding a laugh and a nod to her brother. 'Let me tell you, he would know it,' she continued, pointing to Craig. 'And everybody would know it.'
When Bartlett mentioned media speculation about Michelle's decision not to attend former President Donald Trump's inauguration, the former First Lady replied, 'I would be problem-solving in public, like, 'Let me tell you what he did.''

Her brother piped in, quipping, 'If they were having a problem, I'd be doing a podcast with him.'
'The beauty of my husband and our partnership is that neither one of us was ever really, ever going to quit at it, because that's not who we are. And I know that about him. He knows that about me,' she said, and added, 'I wouldn't trade it,' calling Barack 'my person.'
The former First Lady also addressed society's unrealistic expectations of marriage, noting that young couples sometimes look to the Obamas as '#couplegoals' without realising the hard work behind the scenes.
'I talk about these things because I think that people give up too quickly on marriage,' she said. 'There is so much friction built into the equation... and if you're not getting help, talking about it, going to therapy... I just see people quitting.'
Michelle also pushed back against the idea that her independence and candour indicate marital issues. 'That this couldn't be a grown woman just making a set of decisions for herself, right?' she asked on a separate podcast with actress Sophia Bush. 'That's what society does to us.'

Her comments come just after political commentator Tucker Carlson accused Michelle of 'obviously' disliking her husband. 'She's like a freak show... afflicted with the same kind of restlessness and rage and emptiness,' Carlson said on The Megyn Kelly Show, with Kelly chiming in that 'everything Michelle says about her husband is negative.'

18 illegal Bangladeshi immigrants apprehended in northwest Delhi
New Delhi: Delhi Police has apprehended 18 illegal Bangladeshi immigrants, including six adults and 12 children, from northwest Delhi's Wazirpur JJ Colony. The group was found living without valid travel documents, visas, or permits. According to police, the immigrants had relocated to Delhi from Haryana and were hiding in informal settlements. "We received information about Bangladeshi families residing illegally in the area. A coordinated operation was launched on June 3," said DCP (northwest) Bhisham Singh. The search covered 36 footpaths and 45 narrow lanes. During the raid, one suspect was initially detained. "On interrogation, he admitted to being a Bangladeshi national and revealed that the group had previously worked as labourers in Haryana's brick kilns. After a crackdown there, they shifted to Delhi," Singh added. Following his confession, police identified and apprehended the remaining family members. All 18 individuals were found in violation of the Foreigners Act, 1946. Police also recovered four Bangladeshi national ID cards and a smartphone with the banned IMO messaging app, which has been flagged for cross-border communication. All detainees are currently in custody for further questioning and verification, police said.

Padgha searches: ATS registers two FIRs, sends 19 mobiles for forensic analysis
MUMBAI: The Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) has registered two separate cases under the Arms Act following its search operation across 22 locations in Mumbai and Thane districts connected with suspected terrorist activities, which led to the recovery of swords, choppers and knives from two places. Nineteen mobile phones seized during the searches have been sent to Kalina for forensic analysis and retrieval of data, which police believe could unearth vital clues about the activities of terror suspects. The nearly 12-hour-long search operation on Monday was conducted based on information that people close to Saquib Andul Hamid Nachan, alleged chief of the ISIS module in Maharashtra who is currently in judicial custody for his alleged links with the ISIS module in Delhi, had become active again. Twenty-two persons including seven of Nachan's close relatives in Padgha – his native village in Bhiwandi taluka under Thane district – were detained during the searches and released on Monday evening after being questioned for several hours. According to sources in the ATS, those radicalised by Nachan in Padgha communicated among themselves via imo, an instant messaging and video-calling app which was banned by the central government in May 2023 based on suspicions regarding its use in terrorist activities, especially in Jammu and Kashmir. 'We are hoping that forensic analysis of the phones seized from suspects will unearth how they kept in touch and what activities they were planning,' a police officer who is part of the investigating team told Hindustan Times. The role of two persons among the 22 questioned by the ATS is especially circumspect, the officer said. 'We will interrogate them again once we get some evidence.' The ATS is also verifying if Nachan, who is currently lodged in Tihar jail in Delhi, passed on any messages during video calls with his family members. Prisoners are allowed to talk to their families via video calls in the presence of jail authorities and the Tihar jail manual indicates Nachan interacts with his family regularly, said ATS sources. Nachan was among 15 persons arrested by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in December 2023 following searches at 44 locations in Maharashtra and Karnataka, which led to the seizure of weapons, cash, digital devices and Hamas flags. According to the NIA, Nachan was the self-declared leader of the arrested accused who were all members of the Maharashtra module of ISIS. He administered the 'bayath' (oath of allegiance to the Khalifa of ISIS) to people joining the proscribed organisation and motivated impressionable Muslim youth to relocate to Padgha. Nachan and his accomplices had also declared Padgha a 'liberated zone' and planned various terror activities from the village, the NIA had found.
