The Block contestants are left shocked over Scott Cam's mysterious disappearance before co-host Shelley Craft makes major announcement

Daily Mail5 days ago
Host Scott Cam made a 'mysterious' disappearance on Tuesday's episode of The Block, which sent tongues wagging on the Daylesford site.
But all was revealed during a Blockhead dinner party when co-host Shelley Craft explained Scott had just become a grandpa for the first time.
He had quickly left The Block to fly to Sydney after learning that his son Charlie and partner had welcomed their first child.
'Watching my dad become a grandfather, knowing Scotty will have that same bond with his granddaughter, will be beautiful,' said Blockhead Alicia Williams.
Emma Garland added, 'I feel like he will be a great pa.'
After Shelley made the announcement, the Blockheads burst into applause and gushed over the news.
Scott had shared his joy over becoming a grandfather back in May.
The veteran presenter, 62, shared a gallery of photos to his social media including one snap where Scott can be seen posing alongside Charlie, 28, while he tenderly cradled his newborn grandchild.
Another showed a beaming Scott looking every inch the doting grandad as he held the bundle of joy while visiting the maternity ward, and a third captured him lovingly kissing the newborn's forehead.
The Sydney-born presenter revealed in the caption the birth happened last month.
'As of five weeks ago, I became a grandfather to beautiful Tiggy,' he wrote.
'I'm so proud of Charlie and Amber. She is absolutely gorgeous.'
Scott and wife of thirty years Ann share twins, Bill and Sarah, 25 and son Charlie.
The television host is relishing his new role as a grandfather.
It comes after Cam's jaw-dropping salary was revealed – and he is one of the highest-paid presenters in Australia.
The Channel Nine presenter is earning 'close to $2 million a year', according to Woman's Day.
A source told the publication that Channel Nine was keen to keep Cam and his co-star Shelley Craft on the home renovation series for as long as they could.
'As long as audiences keep watching, Scotty and Shelley are the heart of the show,' they said.
'It's ultimately up to the network, but if Scott wants to stay, they will find a way to keep him.'
The insider added that Cam's good-natured attitude made him a delight to work with.

Jenna was joined by her co-star Emma Myers for the event, held on Sydney's Cockatoo Island. Also on hand was Hollywood director Tim Burton, who also serves as executive producer for the cult series. But the heart-stopping moment came when Gwendoline Christie emerged from behind a moon backdrop. Gwendoline announced to the shocked crowd that her villain character, Nevermore Academy headmistress Larissa Weems, would be back from the dead in the second part of season two. 'Did you really think Nevermore would let me go so easily! I was never gone. You just stopped looking,' Gwendoline told the audience while in character. Meanwhile, Jenna wowed onlookers in a daring ensemble which featured a hairy black and white overcoat, a matching shirt, and lace-up high boots. Sporting her signature 'Goth' look for the event, held on Cockatoo Island, Jenna wore her long dark locks out in a 'messy' chic style. 'It's such an honour,' Jenna said about the role, which has brought her global attention. 'Oftentimes, you don't get to revisit your character, so to be able to do it with someone like Wednesday. I feel very, very lucky.' Mother of the bride sparks fury with dress for daughter's wedding, but says she's fed up being a ‘background player'

A MOTHER of the bride has sparked fury after revealing her dress for her daughter's wedding. Despite the fact the 28-year-old bride told her mum she wanted her to look "elegant and understated" - the latter being the keyword - she opted for a full-length WHITE corset dress. 4 4 4 4 In a post on Facebook, she said her daughter had asked her to wear a "classic and timeless" ensemble, adding "maybe something in navy". "Translation: boring and invisible," she wrote. "She also said she didn't care if I wear something bright. "I've spent so much of my life being the background player in everyone else's story that I almost forgot I deserved to be seen too." The dress is emblazoned with sunflowers on the bodice and all the way down, and has a tulle-style underskirt to make it look even puffier. She added that the gown makes her "feel alive in a way I haven't in years". "The sunflowers are bold and joyful, exactly how I want to feel watching my baby girl say her vows," she said. "But every time I look at it, I hear her voice telling me it's 'too much' for a mother of the bride, that people will think I'm trying to upstage her on her special day." However, she said she can't decided whether or not she's "finally ready to take up space instead of shrinking to make others comfortable". "Maybe it's time to be the sunflower instead of the wallflower?" she concluded. I'm 5ft3 & a size 12-14 - my 7 Tesco dresses are an absolute bargain & perfect for a last-minute wedding guest outfit But the comments section was quickly filled with people taking aim at the woman. "Omg you absolutely cannot wear this to a wedding," one person gasped. "What an interesting time to choose to be seen. "Wear what she is asking, it's HER day!" "I thought this was a wedding dress…" another mused. "Her wedding is about her. Not you," a third insisted. Wedding Guest Outfit Etiquette If you're struggling to decided on a dress to see you through wedding season, here's a few rules on what not to wear so you don't get in trouble. Folklore says that wearing red at a wedding means you slept with the groom. Casual attire like jeans and flip flops should always be avoided. Any colour that could be picked up as white or cream - even if it's not. Most would agree that your cleavage needs to be covered. Wearing white is a massive no-no if you're not the bride. "You don't need an excuse to wear what you find beautiful. "HOWEVER, RESPECT your daughters request and wear that particular dress ANOTHER day." "This is a background event for you," someone else agreed. "It's lovely but you don't want people talking about your dress - hers is the one." "I absolutely love this dress but... I'm sorry you should not wear this dress to your daughters wedding," another wrote. "It is HER day to shine and be the main focus not you in this dress that looks like a wedding dress.
